00:00When you look at Notre Dame, and I know they're not part of the conference,

00:03but they do play a six-game schedule with ACC opponents,

00:08do you think that this basically will open the door maybe long-term

00:12that Notre Dame does, in fact, join a conference?

00:15There is now a stipulation in play for next year

00:18where if Notre Dame is within the top 12

00:22and they expand the playoffs to potentially 14 or 16 teams,

00:26they're an automatic at-large bid as long as they're in the top 12.

00:30Thoughts about Notre Dame potentially joining the ACC in the next few seasons?

00:36You know, I just get tired of the fact that Notre Dame believes

00:40they can go their own direction,

00:42that they don't need to play the same game everybody else is,

00:45that they can be independent because of who they are.

00:47I think they're living on that past reputation,

00:49and I think they should join a conference.

00:52I mean, the easy answer to this is if Notre Dame is going to play in the ACC,

00:55play for the championship, go win it outright.

00:58Don't expect them to give you the games that you need

01:01but not want to join their conference.

01:03Only in football, every other sport they're in.

01:06So I think it's time for Notre Dame to find a conference,

01:09get into that conference, and play the game like everybody else is

01:13so that we can have a level playing field.

01:16It seems like to me, again, everybody's having to make exceptions for Notre Dame,

01:20and it's about time that they join the crowd.

01:22And when you look at Miami, the way they're built, just big picture,

01:28is this, in fact, the best team in the conference, in your opinion,

01:32that Miami was deserving to potentially represent the ACC?

01:37Is this the complete team that potentially can make a run now at a national championship?

01:44Well, I think they're the best team in the ACC.

01:46I mean, they've got a 10-2 record.

01:48They've got the best football players.

01:49They have played the best at times.

01:52They've showed some weaknesses in their two losses.

01:55But I think when they realized how much they had about thrown away,

01:59they came back and played the way they can play.

02:01They are the best team in the conference.

02:03They have the best chance of moving through the playoffs in the conference,

02:08I believe, because of their talent level that they have on both sides of the football.

02:12But, again, they've got a tough opponent in Texas A&M,

02:16and they've got to play.

02:17As they are getting better and better towards the end,

02:20they've got to keep that going.

02:21But they do.

02:22I do believe they give the ACC their best chance of moving forward

02:25in the college football playoff.
