In this Special Report, the escalating conflict over the Karthigai Deepam celebrations at Tiruparankundram in Tamil Nadu takes centre stage. RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat has weighed in on the controversy, asserting that the issue ‘can be resolved here only, on basis of the Hindus' strength in Tamil Nadu only’. The dispute, involving a court order to light a lamp near a dargah, has triggered a political firestorm. BJP MP Tejasvi Surya condemned the DMK government’s move to impeach Justice G.R. Swaminathan, terming it an ‘attack on the impartiality of the judges’ and an attempt to ‘weaponize impeachment’. The programme details the judicial and ideological standoff ahead of the assembly polls.
