00:00Right. OK, so, I mean, there's been this assumption in the post-war era that the alliance between Washington and Europe is is ironclad.
00:08I mean, would you say that that assumption has now been seriously challenged?
00:14Well, it's hard to say that that it has not been seriously challenged.
00:19I think there is, you know, when the U.S. talks about that we have this ironclad relationship with Europe and the transatlantic relationship with NATO, Article V, it's important that we say that and we say it publicly for Putin and others to understand that that's really where we are.
00:39And so so what's happening now is is beginning to cast some doubt or mistrust in the United States, in Europe.
00:51They're starting to say, you know, you might even say that your commitment to Article V is ironclad, but your actions and your rhetoric seem to say something else.
01:01And so there's an unease that, in fact, they are looking at a partner that where the public rhetoric is in terms of being ironclad may not may be hollow.
01:14It may not be supported by a lot of strong commitment within the confines of the White House.
