00:00If Philip Rivers is being asked, who hasn't played, not even on a practice squad,
00:04to come in and start an NFL game at the end of the season, maybe, potentially.
00:08I still think Brett Rippon ends up getting the call if Leonard isn't there.
00:11But what does this say about quarterbacking in the National Football League,
00:15that they've got to turn to a guy who's almost 45 years old and isn't even close to,
00:20I mean, is he in game shape, Mark?
00:22Like, this is a crazy story here.
00:24It's really not.
00:25You know what it says?
00:26It says that teams who do it right don't give a rip about their backup quarterback
00:30because once you lose your starter, your season is dead in the water.
00:34That's the way I believe it should be approached.
00:36Teams who invest in their backup as if to say it's important, no, it's not.
00:40I mean, if your season goes off the rails because your starter gets injured
00:42to the length that Daniel Jones gets injured, guess what?
00:45Your season's done.
00:46I mean, I saw it here in Atlanta.
00:48Oh, Michael Penix went down and $40 million Kirk Cousins coming off the bench.
00:52The offense hasn't gotten any better.
00:54Why?
00:54Because there are only 32 guys good enough to start in the league.
00:57Probably only 20 guys good enough to start in the league.
00:59The final 12 are questionable.
01:00If you don't have one of those 20 guys,
01:02getting a backup that's equally as good isn't going to help you.
01:05So I have no problem with the Colts investing zero in their backup.
01:08This is the reality of the NFL.
01:10If you lose a top 20 starter in the NFL, your season is going to go off the rails.
01:16The Nick Foles, Jeff Hostetler things are one-offs that happen once every 30, 40 years,
01:21and there's a reason for that because it's really hard to make that happen.
01:24There's a reason these guys are backups and not starters.
01:27Can you catch lightning in a bottle with Phillip Rivers?
01:30Maybe.
01:30Sure, you can.
01:31But you could also catch lightning in a bottle with Riley Leonard or somebody else for that
01:34matter.
01:35So I don't think this is as crazy as people think.
01:39I mean, it's crazy on the surface to go get Phillip Rivers.
01:41But again, whether it's Phillip Rivers or somebody else, the Colts season is dead.
01:45I think they lose every game from here on out.
01:46I agree.
01:47I think they're done too.
01:48By the way, they're 22 to 1 now to win the division.
01:50They were the favorites two weeks ago, overwhelmingly.
01:52Right now it's Jacksonville minus 165.
01:55But Mark Houston's been coming on, especially their defense is playing great football.
01:59Is Houston or Jacksonville dangerous at all in a postseason scenario?
02:03I know that Jacksonville maybe has more upside to go deeper,
02:07but Houston is just doing it on the strength of their defense.
02:10That's been plenty over the last month.
02:13Yeah, I don't think Jacksonville is dangerous.
02:14I think Houston is.
02:15I think that defense can negate anyone or anything.
02:18And if somehow they can get some semblance of consistency on offense and,
02:22you know, do something, actually build a lead, they'd be nearly unbeatable.
02:27And I don't know that they will be able to fix the offense.
02:29But guess what?
02:30In a 60-minute game against Houston Texans, you're going to pay for it physically
02:34because they're going to beat you up for a full 60 minutes.
02:36And you're going to leave that game sore even if you can win it.
02:39But yes, I think the Texans will be a big problem when they get in the postseason.
02:43I guess you'll be able to do a whole scenario here.
02:44And now I'm going to get into a pretty high time swing in conflict.
02:45Next.
02:47I'll go and read.
02:53And guys know.
02:54And then I'm going to let you guys know where you are going to look at this case like,
03:01I know where you are going to be going to be like what can get us.
03:02And then I'm gonna go and read.
03:06So I have to be your expert
03:07so we know that the Texans, we know how you build a new racing team meant inborn example.
