00:00And in Indianapolis, Colts fans and anybody with a Colts future,
00:04I imagine if they're being honest with themselves,
00:06we're handed the worst result possible,
00:11which is Daniel Jones beating out Anthony Richardson
00:14and then Shane Stiked in doubling down saying,
00:18oh, Daniel Jones, our starter all season long.
00:20We have no interest in taking him out.
00:25Lisa, you and I have gone back and forth on the idea of Jones versus Richardson.
00:30Take me through what your reaction was when you found out Daniel Jones had won this job.
00:35That was the right move.
00:36I know, and I buy more into the Colts now than I did.
00:41Kev, I do not love Daniel Jones.
00:45I don't, but he's a better pocket passer than they are.
00:49We talk about trying to get the football to your wideouts,
00:52A.D. Mitchell and Michael Pittman.
00:54Daniel Jones gives this offense the best opportunity to do that.
00:59A.R., upside, couldn't agree more.
01:02He needs to be mentored.
01:04He needs to be worked on.
01:05But Colts don't have that option right now.
01:07Again, you know, you're talking about a quarterback that in the offseason had shoulder pain,
01:12and we didn't know the extent of that.
01:15The team can't rely on A.R. this year.
01:17And I think Stiked made the proper decision.
01:20Again, do I love Daniel Jones?
01:21No, but I feel he gives this team the best option of potentially winning a division
01:26and, more importantly, potentially getting a playoff berth as a wild card.
01:30So, to me, I think that Daniel Jones has a higher four than Anthony Richardson.
01:38Sure, I can agree with that.
01:40From a foundation standpoint.
01:41Sure.
01:41Right.
01:42I do not think he gives them the best chance to win, because I don't think he's good at all.
01:47At least there's a world where Anthony Richardson can figure it out.
01:51Because what is undeniable about Anthony Richardson, I get it.
01:5550% completions, 11 touchdowns to 13 interceptions in the passing game.
02:00He does have double-digit rushing touchdowns.
02:01This is career-wise, okay?
02:03I understand all that.
02:03But Anthony Richardson has played such little football.
02:10Nobody would actually attempt to tell you that this guy is a finished product.
02:16I know last time you and I were together, I harped on how old Tyler Shuck is.
02:20Right.
02:20I'm sorry.
02:21Tyler Shuck is comfortably older than Anthony Richardson.
02:24And this guy's going to be, ah, give him time.
02:27Give him time.
02:28Done with Richardson already?
02:30And here's my biggest beef.
02:32This is the stuff that really bothers me.
02:34Go ahead.
02:35The Colts drafted him.
02:38I didn't draft him for the Colts.
02:40That wasn't what happened.
02:41No, I know.
02:42He didn't force his way to Indianapolis.
02:44Right.
02:45So why do they keep acting surprised?
02:49Why?
02:50Oh, we didn't see this coming.
02:52This is the team, by the way, who when they drafted Anthony Richardson, a lot of people didn't think he would start for them immediately.
02:58They started him immediately.
02:59I know.
03:00They got injured and it went to meet you.
03:01But it's sort of like Trey Lance, isn't it?
03:04So here's the biggest difference, though.
03:06And I think it's a fair comparison.
03:08Brock Purdy was fantastic.
03:10Yes.
03:10Daniel Jones has never played as good as Brock Purdy.
03:13I totally agree.
03:14If we're comparing Purdy to Daniel Jones, there's hands down, it's all Purdy.
03:19But when you're a head coach and you've had three lackluster seasons and you have an opportunity to potentially crack and win the division, you want to give your team the best option to do that.
03:30Which quarterback is going to understand the offense?
03:32Which quarterback potentially can throw a 10-yard out on a third and five and get a start first down?
03:39Or are we going to rely on the guy that, like I said, like Anthony Richardson, could one day rush for 100 yards in a game with two touchdowns and complete eight of 30 passes for 81 yards?
03:50Or are we going to go with Daniel Jones?
03:52You take the good, the bad, and the ugly with Jones and hope that you're at least 9-8, 10-7, and you're in the wild card.
