02:01a Norwegian social movements rejected Nobel committees decision to award the Nobel Peace Prize through the representative of the Venezuelan far-right Maria-Corina Machado
02:08A Norwegian social movement rejected the Nobel Committee's decision to award the Nobel Peace Prize to the representative of the Venezuelan far-right, Maria Corina Machado.
02:23An alliance of Norwegian organizations dedicated to peace and solidarity has announced a demonstration for December 9 and 10 in front of the Norwegian Nobel Institute in Oslo,
02:35stating that the Committee's decision contradicts the spirit of Alfred Nobel's will to reward efforts for disarmament and for peaceful resolution of conflicts.
02:45They pointed out that Maria Corina publicly supports a military intervention against Venezuela by the U.S. government,
02:50the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the country and is linked to violent and destabilizing actions.
02:55Maria Corina Machado is set to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo on December 10 on the anniversary of Alfred Nobel's death.
03:05The Norwegian Peace Movement reiterates its rejection of the awarding of the Nobel Prize to Maria Corina Machado,
03:18an action they consider to be contrary to the will and legacy of Alfred Nobel.
03:22At the press conference called by the Peace Movement, its members emphasized that the prize is being used for political purposes
03:29and constitutes a bias against the peace of humanity.
03:32The members of the Norwegian Peace Movement also condemned Maria Corina Machado's support for the genocide in Gaza,
03:38perpetrated by the Israel regime.
03:40In addition, the movement highlighted that awarding a person who pushes for interventionism in Venezuela
03:45constitutes an imminent danger in the context of U.S. interference in the Caribbean,
03:49which threatens the sovereignty of the Bolivarian territory.
03:59In this scenario, representatives of the peace movement reaffirmed that they will continue with the complaint filed
04:04before the administrative court of Stockholm County regarding the inappropriateness of the Nobel Peace Prize being awarded to Maria Corina Machado.
04:14The case is being started being administrative and is being escalating to the level of judicial.
04:28We are not quite sure how long it will take.
04:34What we are sure is that we will go through all the process and we have different strategies to board this case.
04:47And we take time, maybe one year, two years, but we are completely ready for that.
04:57The network of intellectuals and artists in defense of humanity signed a letter to the Nobel Peace Prize Committee,
05:08denouncing its choice of Maria Corina Machado to receive the award this year prior to the presentation of the medals on December 10th.
05:15The statement reads,
05:16The United States government has made public its intention to order for the legitimate government of Venezuela with the aim of taking over the world's largest oil reserves.
05:23They also stated,
05:24In the midst of this clear violation of the Charter of the United Nations and international law,
05:29we are faced with the unpleasant news that your committee has decided to award this year's prize to the main promoter of war,
05:35the invasion of our own country and the destabilization of Venezuela and the entire region, Maria Corina Machado.
05:41The organization continued,
05:43We lovers of peace reject wars and will continue to fight for genuine and true peace,
05:48which can only be understood as a right of peoples, indivisible from their self-determination and defense of their sovereignty.
05:54They ended by saying,
05:56After the grotesque ceremony you will hold on December 10th,
05:59you will no longer have any moral authority to speak of peace or justice,
06:03words that you manipulate at will to satisfy the geopolitical ambitions of the United States.
06:09These wars are the exclusive heritage of peoples fighting for their sovereignty.
06:20Maria Corina Machado has publicly supported Israel's genocide against the Palestinian people.
06:25On her social media accounts, she praised Netanyahu's Genosado actions,
06:29an offensive that is killing thousands of Palestinians.
06:32Moreover, in 2018, Maria Corina sent a letter to Netanyahu requesting his support for a change of government in Venezuela
06:41through an illegal military incursion.
06:43Machado's relationship with Tel Aviv is evident in her promise to move the Venezuelan embassy to Jerusalem
06:48if she comes to power, taking a position similar to that of other leaders in the region.
06:53And now we have our first break coming up.

07:30Since December 11, Venezuela becomes the center of continental debate with the installation of the Assembly of Peoples for Peace and Sovereignty of America in the States.
07:37The international meeting takes place in the military circle and brings together national and international guests from all continents.
07:46At the same time, as a fundamental part of the Assembly, representatives of the various indigenous peoples,
07:52Abiyayala are meeting on a special council dedicated to defending the sovereignty and peace of the region.
07:57Until December 11, the program will include keynote presentations by international experts working tables and forums,
08:04all focused on articulating common strategies to ensure self-determination and stability of the countries of America.
08:17In a year after the disappearance of four miners from Las Malvinas' neighborhood, the Regional Foundation for Human Rights Advisory Services denounced the lack of response from the Ecuadorian government.
08:27Ismael, Josué, Nehemiah and Steven were arrested on December 8, 2024, by members of the Ecuadorian Air Force,
08:35an event capture on camera as vital evidence for preventing the case from going unpunished.
08:40Ingrid Garcia, executive coordinator of the organization, said that the families of the young people have been victims of omission and concealment of information throughout the process.
08:50The pattern of abuse is confirmed by the organization, which has reported 33 other disappearances in the country's coastal provinces.
09:06In Cochabamba, Bolivia, a violent police operation to break up a blockade at the Colcapitua landfill has led to death and at least 10 injuries.
09:15The confrontation occurred on Monday when police agents attempted to disperse a protest held for 12 days by local communities.
09:22Protesters claimed the landfill is a serious source of infection and demand authorities defining its territorial borders.
09:28Witnesses say police use zero gas to disperse the residents' blockade.
09:31However, health authorities say that the death resulted from gunshot wounds.
09:35While dialogue stalls, the city streets filled with rubbish, exacerbating the health crisis and concern among residents.
09:41Social organizations demand justice and a definite solution to the environmental conflict.
09:54Also in Bolivia, the Federation of Neighborhood Councils of La Paz, Social Control and a faction of the city's trade unions marched on Monday against a 40% increase in the price of bread.
10:04Jorge Paredes, president of one of the FEJUVs in La Paz, said that the march goes beyond the increase in the price of bread, electricity and water as there are thousands of families struggling between poverty and misery.
10:17Rodrigo Paz's government removed the flower subsidy that benefited producers belonging to the National Conservation of Bakers of Bolivia.
10:26For their part, neighborhood associations and other social sectors in La Paz and El Alto reported that their electricity and water bills had increased by up to 150% in recent months.
10:38In other news, the National Emergency System of Honduras delivers to the Public Prosecutor's Office conclusive evidence denouncing an intimidation campaign against free voting with the involvement of organized crime.
10:55On Monday, the National Emergency System 9-1-1 formalized the delivery of a package of certified evidence to the country's Prosecutor's Office documenting the intimidation and coercion by criminal groups during the elections on November 30th.
11:07The evidence is based on almost 900 calls made by citizens to the emergency hotline before and during Election Day.
11:14Among the crimes reported, more than 630 cases of disturbance of the peace at polling stations stand out.
11:19In addition, 37 direct complaints were filed for intimidation by criminal groups and 44 for vote-buying and selling.
11:26The material delivered to the Public Prosecutor's Office includes audio recordings and documentation of each call.
11:31With this evidence, the audience could carry out the necessary investigations to issue prosecutions against those who attempted to undermine the electoral process
11:39and bring to justice those responsible for violating the will of the people.
11:52There are 892 audio recordings of calls received by the National Emergency System 9-1-1, reporting intimidation, coercion by organized crime, vote-buying and selling,
12:03alteration of the electoral process, kidnapping of electoral material, confiscation of voter identification documents for voting that did not only threaten people,
12:12they were not only at the polling stations, they also went to areas where they knew they were not going to be politically favored
12:18and took away people's identity documents so they could not vote.
12:22This happened in this process. It was an unprecedented, dirty, fraudulent process and we cannot remain silent.
12:28On Sunday, Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader enacted Law 9725 which reforms the Court of Criminal Procedure.
12:41The text was published in the Official Gazette and will enter into force nationwide on Wednesday.
12:46The law expands conflict resolution mechanisms such as restorative justice, discretionary prosecution, agreements, conciliations, expedited procedures
12:55and conditional suspension of proceedings applicable to crimes punishable by up to five years in prison.
13:00Antoliano Peralta, legal advisor of the executive branch, explained that the reform strengthens a significant part of the 28 principles of criminal procedure
13:08and consolidates a model consistent with the social and democratic law.

13:44Welcome back! New clashes between Thailand and Cambodia, a border conflict that has once
13:57again claimed lives and forced the displacements of thousands, raises alarms in the region
14:02and at the UN. Our correspondent in China, Bruno Falsi, has the details.
14:07Greetings colleagues of Telesur and all the audience watching us in this transmission.
14:12I am in Beijing now to report this time on the new episode clashes between Thailand and
14:19Cambodia, which has left at least five dead and several wounded. Our Thai soldiers and
14:26four Cambodian civilians were killed, while dozens of injured and thousands of people
14:33had to fled their homes in border areas. The dispute has historical roots dating back to
14:40the colonial era, when the border lines established by France in 907 generate territorial claims
14:48that persist to this day. The border territories have been the focus of recurring clashes with
14:55major incidents in 2008, 2011 and 2014. In 2025, the fight intensified and in July alone there
15:06were at least 32 deaths and more than 130,000 displaced persons. The current conflict erupted
15:15after airstrikes ordered by Thailand on position in Cambodian territories and reflects an increase in tensions that threaten the safety of the civilian population and the regional stability.
15:29The United Nations is calling for calm and dialogue between the two countries, stressing the need to protect the population and prevent a prolonged conflict.
15:41With this news, from here, Beijing will return with you in the studios in La Habana, Cuba.
15:51And China successfully tested its first full-size high-pressure hydrogen pipeline at a facility in Hami, northwest China.
15:58The Mao Zong fills a domestic technology gap and lays a critical safety foundation for large-scale hydrogen transportation, a key step towards secure long-distance hydrogen supply,
16:08to restore the real scene to the greatest extent. The test team, relying on an advanced multimedia pipeline test and measurement platforms,
16:16prefabricated a hydrogen main pipeline with a hydrogen storage capacity of 12,000 cubic meters. The entire test focused on continuous leakage
16:24and jet-fire monitoring under multiple operating conditions, simulating various leakage situations that may occur in hydrogen pipelines during actual operations.
16:33Japan assessed the damage on Tuesday and warned of possible aftershocks after a late-night 7.5 magnitude earthquake caused injuries, minor damage and a small tsunami along the Pacific coast.
17:01The Fire and Disaster Management Agency reported at least 33 injuries, one of them serious. Most of the victims were hit by foreign objects.
17:08The 7.5 magnitude quake struck around 11.15 p.m. local time in the Pacific Ocean, 80 km off Japan's northernmost coast.
17:17The U.S. Geological Survey said it occurred 44 km below the surface. A tsunami measuring up to 70 cm hit Cujiport in Iwate Prefecture, near south of Aomori.
17:29A wave of up to 50 cm also struck other communities in the region.
17:41The 7th session of the United Nations Environment Assembly began Monday in Nairobi, Kenya, with calls for a lasting solution to the mounting threats facing the planet.
17:50Nearly 6,000 delegates from over 170 countries are attending the five-day conference, which is themed, Advancing Sustainable Solutions for a Resilient Planet.
18:00Among the attendees are environmental officials as well as representatives from multilateral agencies, academia, industry and civil society.
18:07The UN Assembly for the Environment, the world's highest-level decision-making body on environmental issues, has had universal membership of all 193 United Nations member states since 2014.
18:21The United Nations Children's Fund warned that the Democratic Republic of the Congo is facing the worst cholera outbreak in 25 years, with more than 1,800 deaths since the beginning of 2025.
18:38The organization reported that since the beginning of the year, 64,427 cases have been reported, with 14,818 cases in minors and 340 deaths,
18:48noting that the epidemic has affected 17 of the country's 26 provinces.
18:52Unsafe sanitation continues to be the country's main problem, as only 43% of the population has access to basic water supply services, which is the lowest rate in Africa,
19:01and only 15% have access to basic sanitation services.
19:05At the end of last November, the World Health Organization reported that the highest number of cholera cases worldwide were registered in the eastern Mediterranean region,
19:13followed by the regions of Africa, Southeast Asia, America, and the Western Pacific.
19:24And Denmark is considering following Australian footsteps after securing an agreement to ban social media access for anyone under 15 years old.
19:32Starting Wednesday, December 10, Australia will enforce a world-first social media ban for children under 16, while in the Danish plans it could become low by mid-2026.
19:43But some school students and experts are worried.
19:45The country's government is planning to ban social media for anyone under 15, increasing pressure on tech platforms as concerns grow about children accessing harmful content and commercial interests.
19:56The proposals would give some parents the right to let their children access social media from age 13.
20:02Social measure would be among the most sweeping steps yet by the European Union government to limit use of social media among teens and younger children.
20:26And in the United Kingdom, where the Belfast Artist Market has decided to ban the sale of artwork generated by artificial intelligence at its annual Christmas Fair.
20:39The organizers of the fair argued that this measure seeks to support human creativity and protect local artists as they believe that art created by AI cannibalizes the work of artists who earn lower salaries.
20:50The decision has been well received by the artistic community and attendees who value the importance of authentic and real art in contrast to productions generated by machines.
21:11During the capital of India debates began for the 20th session of the Intragovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.
21:18During the opening ceremony, the Director General of UNESCO highlighted the importance of the event for preserving oral and cultural traditions and practices that strengthen community identities.
21:28The debates, in which 185 UNESCO member states are participating, will examine 67 candidacies of great cultural richness such as the Joropo of Venezuela, the Son Cubano and the Diwali of India.
21:41The meeting will run until December 13 in the morning, including the representation of all regions.
21:46And the fourth Youth Design Awards were held in China, boosting the country's artistic and cultural growth. University students and designers under the age of 35 presented their innovative projects and plans to the competition.
22:06The exhibition aims to promote the cultural heritage and renewal of the country's public, urban and rural spaces in addition to the competition. The event includes parallel activities such as various exhibitions in which each young participant contributed their unique vision in the search for innovative and creative solutions.
22:24The competition highlights the potential of the nation's emerging talent in the development of China's artistic and cultural industries.
