02:25All right, so daisy what a season so far we're in season three
02:31Um of below deck sailing yacht and before we start just to dive into the drama
02:36I wanted to know like a little bit more about you and your background
02:40I mean what made you get into this in the first place and sailing and you know being out in the season and kind of running ships
02:48Yeah, so my parents were in it and before I was born
02:52So, uh, you know, he my dad always talked about it and traveling but he was in the merchant navy first
02:58So he originally encouraged me to do it when I was like 18, but I had visions of the navy
03:02I didn't get it
03:03Or like really google and things like this is quite a long time ago. I'm actually well into my 30s. So
03:10Um, I couldn't really research it
03:12So he encouraged me to study hotel management, which I did and then I went to london for two years and I wasn't really happy and at that stage
03:21Google and stuff was more of a thing
03:23So it was easier for me to research and I was like, oh, this isn't the navy. I'm like this looks incredible
03:27So I went out and did that and it was a natural thing for me to do because we sail
03:33To my lifestyle and my personality i'm obsessed with the sun. I love to party. So I mean
03:38It was kind of fitting
03:40absolutely and
03:42after being in it for you know, these years and now being on the show and just with a lot of the drama a lot of the
03:51stuff you're pretty much managing like
03:54people that are
03:56You know towing the line a little bit
03:59I said professionalism
04:01I said let me talk you about it yesterday and it is it's kind of frustrating sometimes being achieved to you because
04:06You yeah essentially your job is to serve and i'm like no no my job is literally to manage manage the gas manage the crew
04:14um
04:15So I mean like any management position when you get higher up
04:19It's always weird for people because you're hands-on and then suddenly you're like, oh, this is actually a totally different job now
04:24So yes
04:26So are you still enjoying it as much as you did before when you first got started?
04:31Yeah, I think so I think it's natural to to move into a management position and you know, I you can't just you know, do we
04:39need the people to make the beds and do all that
04:41But that's obviously going to get repetitive. So it's important to grow and and it's moved me into that position
04:48and obviously with with maturity and experience it's it's natural as well to kind of become that mother hen but
04:55It is nice sometimes when people recognize it because I think people think like oh, she's such a nag or
05:01You know or sees me really stressed and it's a bit like relax and it's like you have no idea wait until you come into my position and
05:09You know the anxiety and the stress and the frustration, but I do enjoy it. It's a challenge and
05:16You know, I i'm a people person the frustration, but I do enjoy it. It's a challenge and you know, I i'm a people person
05:24So it's yeah, I do enjoy it
05:26Definitely. How do you manage all of the personalities? I mean between
05:30The boat occupants so the people that are coming in and we know that there's been, you know
05:36people that are way more difficult than others in addition to
05:41Everything going on, you know below deck with all of the people that the employees
05:47Yeah, so
05:49It's definitely a challenge and yeah, the crew definitely don't think I manage them. I they oh, they only have daisy only has a few guests
05:58I am literally managing every single one of you and not just you know, my shoes
06:02I think people are like oh daisy just has two shoes and i'm like I know
06:06Everything that's going on in the boat. Yeah all the time. Don't be fooled. I am
06:12Very in tune with the old apartments and yeah, it's um
06:17Yeah, it's a challenge and it's there's so much going on in my mind
06:20I'm constantly thinking about exactly what's going on below deck what's going on up deck
06:24It's I need to know what's and I can't as you can see from the show, you know
06:28I constantly see comments being like why didn't daisy do this? Why didn't daisy do that?
06:32And it's you know, it's a display of how important communication is. I'm like no
06:38Anything and I think there's a an element of
06:40People are a little bit intimidated by me and and think you know, but i'm a very approachable person
06:46But obviously, you know, i've been on a returning cast member and things like that and this season is a very clear
06:53Sign of me walking around going what's going on and everyone's like nothing everything's fine
06:58So yeah, do you feel like that some people feel like if they go to you about something?
07:04It's like tattletailing
07:07Yeah
07:08Yeah, definitely. I think you know definitely seeing the girls as well and I am such an approachable person. I was
07:15Really surprising
07:17To seeing the girls do that because you basically can't get in trouble with me
07:20I shouldn't say that for anyone who works with me in the future
07:23I'm like I like to pretend you can get in trouble, but yeah, right you can
07:27Yeah, watching that I definitely think the girls thought they were tattling or they get in trouble or
07:34Anything like this and i'm like no no no, it's you know, it's always a conversation with me
07:38So yeah, that was a little bit frustrating for me
07:41Yeah, and we I think we can definitely see with like miscommunications happening below deck
07:46I mean, you know with um marcos and gabriella like things like or it was gabriella right not ashley
07:51Yes, it was gabriella. Yeah, and you know, even just that slight miscommunication which really wasn't a massive deal
07:59But it is something that causes some friction, you know, you can see in that episode and you know the the producers are doing it on purpose because
08:08We are mid-season and we are so tired and tensions and you know
08:12So they're showing these little fights that seem to the audience really small
08:17But obviously a huge aftermath, but it's also a reflection of of the time of the season we're in
08:24And where you know, everyone knows that if we're tired or toddlers start crying and you're like, oh, they're tired. It's nap time
08:29It's kind of right
08:30Wow, we're like throwing our toys out of the prom because we're we're sleep deprived and and things are irritating us that shouldn't
08:38Definitely definitely um now
08:42Obviously also in the last episode we saw pretty much ashley and gabriella fighting over
08:48Gary again, and you've had your background with gary and I think colin asked why is everybody fighting over gary?
08:55I mean, what do you think why what's this guy have this hold over these two girls?
09:00I think oh my god, I have such a bad shine in my face. I'm so sorry
09:08I you know, there's a few things there obviously colin has taken and marcos is
09:14You know a little bit older more focused on his job
09:18Gary's up for it, you know that the crew this year last year are all very affectionate flirtatious
09:24It comes with being usually a yachty
09:26So, you know, that's a big side of it. Gary's very charismatic. He can never have enough attention
09:33So he doesn't care where he gets it from and and you know, the levels of of flirting he'll go to with whoever
09:40You know is is quite impressive. I don't know where he finds it
09:45Um, so with those things, you know, and again, you know, we're mid-season we're tired and people want, you know, gary's a good cuddler
09:51He's a good and i'm a super affectionate person, but I
09:55I'm not affectionate with everyone
09:57So it's quite hard for me because I I crave a hug and I crave to be touched
10:00But if no one around me, you know, I'm not that like girlfriend who will hug you
10:05But I'm a girlfriend
10:07No, I'm not that girlfriend as in women to hug you, but I'm the girlfriend with the boyfriend
10:11If that makes sense
10:12Yeah
10:13So it's so easy to hug
10:16And like he's so affectionate that you know, it warms to everyone and and yeah, people want to be loved
10:22So it's like oh, I've had a really bad day and you know, he'll come up and you know hugs relief release endorphins
10:28And you know the next thing you're making out and yeah, so there's a lot right
10:34And so did you have advice for ashley and gabriella like in the moment or um, you know
10:41Did you kind of just try to stay out of it and you were like just do your work?
10:46It came to me and I did try to take a different approach, you know
10:50I I do think I can be a bit nosy and you know because i've been hurt before
10:56By people hooking up with someone i've hooked up with so you know last season I did I was ali's friend and
11:03And the girls did come to me like I didn't exactly come to them
11:06They very much came to me, whereas the girls didn't really come to me this year about it
11:11And I do think it was a different situation and but I did try to take a
11:16Backseat approach this year as like you know what you guys
11:20Do you this isn't my problem if you're all gonna hurt each other as long as you can do your job
11:25Which they did um
11:28So I didn't really give an opinion. I think it was yeah, sometimes like i'm very opinionated
11:33I kind of say it but I I kind of left them to it
11:36Definitely and
11:39At in this last episode as well with you know, the drama between
11:44Gabriella and ashley
11:45It did seem like instead of coming to you to have you be like the middleman and like figure it out for them
11:51they
11:51Tried to talk it out a little bit
11:54And in that moment gabriella tells ashley that she
11:59Maybe wants to quit
12:01Um, did that take you by surprise watching that back and and what was your reaction to that?
12:06Did you know that that was going through her mind?
12:08Um, yeah, well first to address the first thing about you know, them not coming to me you can see because again
12:15Everyone's like daisy's taking such a hands-off approach. I asked several times. Oh, i'm sure
12:21Well, and you can see me have the when I said in the previous
12:25Episode I was like i'll talk to the girls after the charter
12:28And then I sat with the girls down and I was like so how did the charter go and they were like great
12:32And I was like, okay, so in my mind, you know, I was like this is their opportunity to come to me
12:38You know spring we finished a great charter. I was like, you know, let's air our grievances. Do you have a problem?
12:44They were like, no, we think it worked really well. So I was like, okay, sweet. Let's carry on
12:49And then you see in the preview that ashley does tell me what happened, but I
12:54Like went at her I was like what is good because I was like what is going on with youtube because every time
13:00They said nothing nothing everything's great
13:03And I had colin marcos gary and I was looking bad at my job
13:07So I stormed into ashley's cabin and I said don't tell me everything is great
13:12You need to be direct and tell me what's going on and that she told me what gabriella had
13:20Said uh, so she broke. Yes, she broke her confidence or yeah her confidence, but um
13:26I very much made her I was sick of it at this stage and yeah
13:31Was I surprised?
13:33Yeah, probably because I think so because
13:36Again, I was very approachable. I asked him several times
13:40Um, and I was like, I don't know why you felt like you couldn't come to me
13:44Like i'm right here right
13:46And you've been through it yourself
13:49Yeah, totally for sure. So yeah, I was quite surprised. Um
13:52um, yeah, yeah
13:55and
13:56I well my next question for you was what makes you reach your breaking point?
14:01Like is there because you do you seem just like a great manager somebody that is really approachable somebody that wants to
14:09like
14:10You're not really gonna actually get people in trouble kind of like you said and so people can come to you and have these like an open dialogue
14:16But I am curious like what makes you reach that breaking point where you know, you do storm into ashley's room was it?
14:22You know, you feeling like i'm not gonna have a fool made out of me because I don't know what's going on type thing
14:27Yeah, I think so
14:28I think at that stage, you know, I had like I said, I had um, colin marcos and gary coming to me several times
14:35And I was giving the same answer being like i've asked them i've asked them
14:39And you know start it starts becoming like fool me once, you know
14:44Yeah, when feel me twice shame on me
14:46So yeah, I think it gets to a point where i'm like
14:49I've been approachable. I've taken tactics, but I have to
14:53And take another approach or else i'm not doing my job, right? So yeah
14:57Yeah, that that becomes my breaking point like i'm
15:01Extremely nice and when people take the piss out of my kindness. I'm like right. Yeah
15:07Done
15:07A hundred percent. I completely agree with that
15:11um and
15:12Kelsey everybody is loving kelsey everybody's wanting more screen time for kelsey
15:17Are we going to get more screen time? Are we going to see anything playing out for her?
15:23Maybe in like a romantic way
15:25um, or
15:26You know what tell us a little bit about her and what we can expect
15:30um
15:31I don't I think kelsey's is is as far as it's gonna go
15:36Um, she's amazing like she was one of the girl one of the people I was closest with
15:40She was my you know, colin was my kind of person last year this year
15:44It kind of was um kelsey. She was my cabin mate
15:48We were really close. I vented and confided in her a lot
15:53Um, but she you know, I I think I mean obviously you're gonna have to wait and see but you know
15:58Kelsey's kelsey. She's a smart gorgeous hard-working girl
16:01Yeah, if you're gonna get those qualities
16:04I mean she's there's not doesn't leave much room to eff up
16:08So she's kind of absolutely
16:11And it's difficult this season. There were a huge amount of strong personalities. I really
16:17and last season as well. So being that um
16:20That underdog and and you know people like jl if you didn't have the love interest with with danny would have really struggled to
16:27Have gotten a voice because the rest of us are so loud and drinking and
16:31And kelsey's it not a quiet person but compared to the rest of us
16:35It was a bit harder to to find her voice but and as such an incredible girl
16:40Yeah, do you miss having um, I know you and ali have um a podcast together pita party
16:46Um, and danny also is a good friend. Do you miss having them on board this season?
16:51Definitely. Um, you know the the girls were amazing, but I I did
16:58Vi better with um danny and ali and that's a completely natural thing to happen and with
17:04Well, you can't be everyone's person
17:06And so I had more of a working relationship with the two girls that I had this year
17:12And we were a bit more friendly last year, but
17:15You know, I would have possibly a bit friendlier with the girls this year, but the drama was um
17:21It was
17:22Kind of strange. It was something I'd never really experienced before like i'm a real girl's girl and I yeah
17:29typical catty
17:30Jealousy and it's natural
17:32But this was too much for me. I'm like we have to work together like in an office job
17:38There are people that you do not like this is normal. This is real life
17:42It doesn't mean you get to speak to each other like this. It doesn't mean you get to
17:46You know behave the way you do and
17:48They need I hope they can reflect on it in their future positions and say yeah, I mightn't like this person
17:54But that doesn't mean I got to stomp around and you know be rude or whatever
17:59But yeah, I mean
18:01Definitely I completely agree and you know
18:04Like you said you're trying to run like this isn't a
18:07You know a little like joke like you're
18:10Running a ship
18:12Yeah
18:13Really, you know paying people who pay a lot of money to be on there
18:17And that's that's why the show is such a success because our job is so
18:21Weird people do
18:23Of course, we've got a socializing aspect in every job, you know
18:26I don't want to go to friday night drinks. I have to it's important socialize and
18:30You know, it can't that's an important part with every job, but this is on another level
18:35So that skill
18:36To be able to socialize and not let it cross into your
18:40Professionalism is is intense and it's not for everybody and I
18:45Strongly believe it's why it's the show is such a huge success because people are like what you have to live work
18:51Socialize in this tiny boat all year with each other and i'm like, yeah
18:57Yep
18:58Yes, you do
19:00And
19:01Did did you feel at all this season more than others that?
19:06The line
19:07The professionalism line was kind of towed a little bit like did people
19:12Allow the drama and what was going on
19:16You know amongst the crew affect how they were doing their job
19:19No, I don't think so and the the team we're a really really strong team this year
19:26And I think all of our charters were actually better than last year and
19:31We we almost had a perfect score in my opinion
19:35The whole team was great
19:37But it was like even though the charters weren't affected in the gas
19:41There's still a professionalism how we treat the boat how we treat each other
19:45How we you know, it's not just about getting that tip and those great reviews. It's about having good
19:50crew morale and on a
19:52Safe working environment and that part of the job
19:56Maybe was bordering and you know, that's why I said someone's either going to get hurt or fired because I yeah
20:02And
20:03You know and I want them to have a good time, but I don't want to see anyone have to go to hospital
20:07You know, I would I would never
20:09Forgive myself if that happened on my watch and of course, you know, and I know glenn wouldn't and the boys wouldn't so
20:16The the side of you know, and you have that in an again in an office
20:20It's important to have a good, you know dynamic that you might be hitting your target
20:24But that's not good enough if you're not treating each other with respect. So
20:28It was was maybe bordering a little bit
20:30Mm-hmm
20:32And we have a few episodes left this season. Um, what can fans expect in these next in this next little bit?
20:41More drama just
20:43I think a little bit less we we start to get our our groove a bit more we start to work a bit better and
20:51We you know, we don't damage the boat again
20:54Um, but you know, of course there's still drama tension is still high, but definitely on a little bit more toned down
21:00I could find
21:02The first half of the season season very anxiety driven like we've all watched below deck and we're all like oh my god
21:07This is so intense. You're like I shouldn't watch this before bed because your heart rate sky high
21:12But the second half will have lots of drama but a little bit more less anxiety driven, which is I think is a good thing
21:18Which we like and you know looking ahead to a reunion
21:23Amongst all of you, I mean, is there anybody that you're a little nervous to face or that you're really you really want to hear from and talk to?
21:31No, I don't think so. I think
21:33You know, I'm pretty I have a good I think I have a good relationship with everyone. I i'm i'll happily chat to all of them
21:39Uh, I didn't have a particular falling out with anyone. So yeah, no pregnancies are really revealed

21:51I don't think so. I think other people are going
21:55Yeah, thankfully, you know, obviously me and natasha had a bit going on last year me and gary this year for me
22:01I think it's it's less on me. Yes, other people there are definitely going to be some words spoken for sure

22:11Um, daisy is there anything else that you wanted to discuss that you wanted to make sure you put out
