00:08:32Thanks a lot.
00:08:33You can't stop the ocean, on the ocean, on the rake on the bar.
00:08:37You can drive just like a pirate, that's a good dream in love.
00:08:40But you can't stop the rhythm, not too hot,
00:08:42I didn't like to stay.
00:08:44You can't stop the beat.
00:08:47On the rake on assassinations.
00:08:49Welcome, everyone.
00:08:50You look fantastic.
00:08:52After two perfect scores last weekend, expectations are high tonight.
00:09:04So let's get started.
00:09:05First off, with an Argentine tango, it's George and Alexis.
00:09:08and Alexis we are at His Majesty's Theatre where they perform Phantom of the Opera hi guys welcome
00:09:21I'm Dean I play the Phantom and I'm Lily I play Christine we are dancing Phantom of the Opera
00:09:26this week and we are doing an Argentine tango to it so I would love your tips on just channeling
00:09:32the character I think for you George it's what's really important to remember is everything about
00:09:36him is so precise everything comes from the soul and you'll feel that so he does everything with
00:09:42with breath and all these movements are specific I feel like it makes a lot of sense with the
00:09:48Argentine tango it was interesting to see how even though they're not dancing there is a sort
00:09:53of element of dance about it he gets as close as he can and then I was told a lot about being nice
00:09:59and deliberate with movements I understand the character more I understand what we're trying
00:10:07to portray just a little gift from us oh well thank you very much that's really cool there's
00:10:11a phantom so today was such a special experience and I feel like we've learned so much about the
00:10:17characters and now I want to take all of that and let's put it in the training room now
00:10:21the Argentine tango I think it's a very precise done if you're not precise you're gonna go away
00:10:28with a lot of bruises on your shins I'll give a nice like shoom down you're taking what you want
00:10:34I think the advice that we got earlier in the week definitely has helped eye contact not to the touch
00:10:39I feel like there's definitely moments where I just lock in and I just try and become the phantom
00:10:43this is tension that's like our first like real eye contact the Phantom of the Opera is
00:10:48one of the most sort of iconic musicals it feels like there's big shoes to fill there so hopefully
00:10:55I can do that that was good dancing the Argentine tango George Clark and Alexis Wong
00:11:06you have come here in pursuit of your deepest urge in pursuit of that wish which till now has been silent silent silent
00:11:25the point of no return no backward glances the games we play till at an end
00:11:44what raging fire just love and soar what rich desire unlocks its door what sweet seduction lies before us
00:11:59past the point of no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return no return
00:12:29Sing for me!
00:12:59What a reaction in the studio for your very first time opening the show.
00:13:25Yeah.
00:13:26I could see you were really in the zone then, weren't you?
00:13:28Yeah.
00:13:29No, yeah.
00:13:30You still there?
00:13:31I feel like I'm awake now, yeah.
00:13:32You're in the state of shock.
00:13:34I think you make an excellent phantom.
00:13:36What do you think, Motsy?
00:13:37Well, first of all, I have to say well done to all the couples.
00:13:40That opening was absolutely sensational.
00:13:42I mean, honestly.
00:13:44It was!
00:13:46And I feel like that it set the tone.
00:13:49I mean, this year for me is the year of dancing and you opening the show like that
00:13:55with such a conviction, with the sensitive part in the beginning of the dance.
00:14:00And I just have to give Alexis a compliment.
00:14:02Girl, you were flying in the air.
00:14:04You were.
00:14:05And I think that, you know, you could only do such type of movements if you trust your
00:14:14partner.
00:14:15If you have someone with such strong partnering skills that is there and you know I can let
00:14:20go.
00:14:21Plus the characterization that you, I think the mask helped you a little bit today.
00:14:25You're like, I'm behind the mask.
00:14:26I can do it all.
00:14:27So it was a lot of fun.
00:14:28I love the energy in that.
00:14:31Well done, guys.
00:14:32Thank you very much.
00:14:34Well, I like this side of you.
00:14:38This is seriousness.
00:14:39The precision of leading, of being able to hold with the right and the left and understanding
00:14:45where two body weights meet together.
00:14:48And I agree with Motsi, you being able to do what you did, Alexis is down to the fact
00:14:52that he is totally in control of what he's doing.
00:14:55Absolutely.
00:14:56And I love the whole ambiance of it.
00:14:58Just the character.
00:14:59It was seamless.
00:15:00I really enjoyed it.
00:15:01What a great start to the night.
00:15:05And you've been working so hard on that precision.
00:15:08We know that.
00:15:09Anton.
00:15:10I was taken aback by your intensity at the beginning.
00:15:12I love this.
00:15:13This is the George I really enjoy.
00:15:16I like it when you're laughing and having a lovely time.
00:15:18But when you're here and you were on the balcony there and you're all serious, you didn't
00:15:21look...
00:15:22I thought, yes.
00:15:23Come on, George.
00:15:24This is great.
00:15:25I want this.
00:15:26All I did and you came down.
00:15:28Basically.
00:15:29I love this about you because it transferred into the dance and so you had an intensity
00:15:34of your partnering.
00:15:35I've complimented your partner through the whole series.
00:15:37This has been your greatest skill is your quality of partnering.
00:15:40It's a sort of a natural thing, which has enabled Alexis to do some wonderful lifts
00:15:45and tricks.
00:15:46Brilliant.
00:15:47All because of you, as the girl said.
00:15:48But the intensity was the thing that struck me.
00:15:51I loved it.
00:15:52I want more of this.
00:15:54Please.
00:15:55Thank you, George.
00:15:56Well done.
00:15:58What about you, Craig?
00:16:01I thought the footwork was a little untidy, I've got to be honest.
00:16:05It was a little bit sticky from step to step.
00:16:08I felt like you were shuffling sometimes into the lifts to gain purchase.
00:16:13I would like to have seen a little bit more of an A-frame like the Argentine tango in it.
00:16:18It's difficult music.
00:16:19I get that.
00:16:20I think you handled the music particularly well, particularly the slow bit and then finding
00:16:25the rhythm within the dance.
00:16:27But the lifts were absolutely excellent.
00:16:31You had power, control and proper drama.
00:16:34Thank you so much.
00:16:36Well, the judges think you're a great leading man, George.
00:16:39Congratulations.
00:16:40Thank you very much.
00:16:41Go get your scores.
00:16:43Well done.
00:16:44George and Alexis, first time opening the show.
00:17:01Nerve-racking or charming?
00:17:03Nerve-racking, definitely, yeah.
00:17:05It's scary going first, but now you can enjoy everybody else.
00:17:08Yeah, exactly.
00:17:09It was all about the power this week, wasn't it?
00:17:11How happy are you then?
00:17:12Judges said you had it.
00:17:14Yeah, no, it's good.
00:17:15I mean, the power is a challenge because it's supposed to be obviously very strong,
00:17:18but she weighs nothing, so too strong.
00:17:20She's in the wrong marquee, so I need to harness it.
00:17:23You were like, oops.
00:17:24You were excited about the makeover?
00:17:26Talk me through that.
00:17:27Yeah, no, it's nice to show less face on television.
00:17:30That's more comfortable.
00:17:32Alexis, it's your favourite musical.
00:17:34You always wanted to do this number.
00:17:36It is.
00:17:37When I first got the call that I was a pro on Strictly, literally the next day,
00:17:40I went online in the States and I booked a ticket to see the Found the Opera for the first time when I came here.
00:17:46And it's, yeah, it's a dream.
00:17:48And also this song, oh, I've always wanted to do an Archie and Tangled of this song.
00:17:52And it's one of my favourites.
00:17:53It's just so, it gets me so giddy and I love it.
00:17:57Well, you did brilliantly.
00:17:59And just for you, we have a message from the king of musicals himself.
00:18:05Have a look at this.
00:18:06Good evening, George.
00:18:08I have a message from the Phantom of the Opera.
00:18:12Fondest greetings, Monsieur Georges.
00:18:16I congratulate you on choosing the music of my legend tonight.
00:18:21I trust that your conversion to musicals is now complete,
00:18:26lest a disaster should occur beyond your imagination.
00:18:31Your obedient servant, the Opera Ghost.
00:18:37Good luck, George.
00:18:38Oh!
00:18:39Thank you so much, Lord Lloyd Webber.
00:18:44Isn't it wonderful?
00:18:45Incredible.
00:18:46Thanks, Andy.
00:18:47Well, congratulations.
00:18:49Your scores are it.
00:18:51Ladies and gentlemen, the judges have their scores.

00:18:59Motsi Mabusi.
00:19:00Nine.
00:19:02Shirley Ballard.
00:19:03Nine.
00:19:06And Anton Dubé.
00:19:07Nine.
00:19:09After that, well done.
00:19:12If you say George and Alexis deserve a place in the semi-final,
00:19:17then please vote for them at the end of tonight's show.

00:19:35I love it.
00:19:36Tess.
00:19:38Our next star earned her first perfect 40 last weekend
00:19:40for a flawless couple's choice.
00:19:42With a place in the semi-final at stake tonight,
00:19:45she's hoping to deliver another show-stopping routine
00:19:48with a samba inspired by sweet charity.
00:19:51It is Karen and Carlos.
00:19:56On Saturday night, I felt very emotional.
00:19:58I immediately thought about my mum and blew her a kiss
00:20:01and that was a little bit of a challenge for me to hold it together.
00:20:04I never thought we would have got 40.
00:20:06Hey!
00:20:07It is your first ever 40 for both of you.
00:20:10Thank you so much!
00:20:12If there's anything that could humble a 40 and a couple's choice,
00:20:16it's doing an innocent dance to a cha-cha and finishing last.
00:20:20In sixth place, Karen and Carlos.
00:20:25My cha-cha was terrible, so at least I own it.
00:20:29One.
00:20:30It's musical week and we are dancing the samba to my favourite musical.
00:20:37So close.
00:20:39Sweet charity.
00:20:40It's 60s, it's hippies, it's going to be amazing.
00:20:43Samba is very challenging for me.
00:20:46It's got this weird kind of bop and rhythm.
00:20:49It's a bit strange.
00:20:50And eight.
00:20:51Samba has a most complex rhythm,
00:20:53so different steps has a different timing, different footwork,
00:20:56but I have a faith and confidence in her.
00:20:59And a five!
00:21:03The look of this dance is as important as dance itself
00:21:06and I really need Karen to take this element of fun
00:21:11and the colours into our dancing.
00:21:16What is going on?
00:21:17This theme is about freedom.
00:21:19It's about the colours.
00:21:20It's a time for a fashion show.
00:21:24Carlos is in his element.
00:21:26He loves his song.
00:21:27He loves the dress-up.
00:21:28He loves the vibe.
00:21:29This one's not bad.
00:21:31You've just got to get into the groove and enjoy it.
00:21:33This is it.
00:21:34Fantastic.
00:21:37Now I've had my full makeover on Saturday.
00:21:42I will give absolutely everything.
00:21:49Dancing the Samba, Karen Connie and Carlos Boo.
00:22:04That he started out in San Francisco,
00:22:07tootin' on his trumpet loud.
00:22:08And he said,
00:22:09He said,
00:22:10He said,
00:22:11Go fuck daddy.
00:22:12Spread the picture on a wider street.
00:22:14And the boy said,
00:22:15Daddy, there's a million pigeons
00:22:16waiting to be heard from huge religions.
00:22:19Take the road, daddy.
00:22:20Need your cover more blank.
00:22:21Spread the religion and the rhythm of life.
00:22:23And the rhythm of life is a powerful beat.
00:22:25Put the tingle in your fingers and the tingle in your feet.
00:22:28Rhythm in your bedroom.
00:22:29Rhythm in the street.
00:22:30Yes, the rhythm of life is powerful.
00:22:33Put the rhythm of life is a powerful beat.
00:22:38Swim, swim, swim to daddy
00:23:02Hit the floor and go to daddy
00:23:12To feel the rhythm of life
00:23:14To feel the power of me
00:23:16To feel the tingling in your fingers
00:23:19To feel the tingling in your fingers
00:23:21Get your wings and fly to your daddy
00:23:24Take a dive and swim to your daddy
00:23:26Hit the floor and climb to your daddy
00:23:28Yeah! Let me hear it!
00:23:34Knock it to me!
00:23:36Let it all hang out!
00:23:38Oh, look at you!
00:23:44Look at you!
00:23:46Look at you!
00:23:48Look at you!
00:23:50Look at you!
00:23:52I mean...
00:23:54Come on!
00:23:56Look at you!
00:23:58Look at you!
00:24:02Look at this!
00:24:04I mean...
00:24:06Come on!
00:24:08Look at this!
00:24:10I do, they like it!
00:24:12Look at you!
00:24:14Front and centre and a full ensemble
00:24:16And loving every moment
00:24:18Just give it everything you give it everything and that's why we love you. Thank you
00:24:23Thank you Carla always bring in the rhythm to life. It's our brilliant Dave arch his band and our fantastic
00:24:37And the samba is a tough dance it's you know it's a quarterfinals Shirley
00:24:42What do you think? Well, I personally love the whole production of it
00:24:45I want to say that first of all I don't want to point out some things to you
00:24:48But a lot of ladies come through this competition, but your sense of balance for me is absolutely off the chart
00:25:00You had a right or a left underarm turn you actually missed the turn, but you didn't miss the balance that's impressive for me
00:25:06I have to say your spins your chemistry together syncopated
00:25:11Quarter Jackie didn't even just do what was playing in the book you up did another level
00:25:14You had the bounce when it came to the croissants walks and locks you attempted the shadow roll
00:25:19I thought all in all you are quite the force to be reckoned with in my
00:25:24Thank you so much
00:25:26Thank you
00:25:27Thank you
00:25:29No worries, it's fine
00:25:31Anton this is the samba you enjoyed
00:25:33I could see your face
00:25:35I feel that if you're going to do a samba this is exactly the samba you want to choose musicals week and throw everything at it
00:25:43Have a thousand people have streamers have stuff going off all over the place
00:25:49You missed his hand on the spin, but you spun anyway
00:25:52You went I
00:25:53It turns out I don't need you I'll keep spinning
00:25:57I've realised how you're sort of in the way
00:26:00I'm just going to stick
00:26:01Don't touch me
00:26:03It's great
00:26:04I'm all right
00:26:05Thank you very much
00:26:05It was like you did a thing at the end here as well which we and you were on the same foot
00:26:09Now I'm sure that you're supposed to be an opposite feet
00:26:12But I sort of didn't mind because it went so well
00:26:15Beautifully timed
00:26:16I mean your execution is as it always is it's absolutely bang on your energy is off the charts
00:26:22But it's all placed in the right in the right place. I just loved loved loved
00:26:28Thank you
00:26:28Well done
00:26:29Thank you
00:26:30Thank you
00:26:30Thank you
00:26:31Great
00:26:32Well I'll start with the positive
00:26:34I think that will relieve everyone of their winter blues darling
00:26:37Number one
00:26:38The bounce was fantastic
00:26:40Your spinning is out of this world
00:26:43For me it was a little bit phonetic and too busy and I felt like you were trying to keep up with it
00:26:48You're also a little bit stiff in the body just through the midsection
00:26:55But what a fantastic dance
00:26:58Thank you
00:26:58Thank you
00:26:59Thank you
00:26:59Not good
00:27:02I mean if we are going to speak about your wonderful spins
00:27:06Then I'm just going to add one spin here
00:27:08Was absolutely sensational
00:27:10You went into a spin into promenade runs
00:27:13That is so difficult
00:27:15And you pulled it off like
00:27:17Neil, you get a partner next year and I'll be careful which numbers I'll be pulling
00:27:23You really attacked that dance
00:27:31Because the conviction of you doing every single rhythm in there
00:27:36There were multiple different rhythm changes that were really really difficult
00:27:40Your solar spots were so so strong
00:27:43I would have left a little bit more of the hips moving but you were convincing
00:27:48Thank you
00:27:49Thank you
00:27:49Thank you
00:27:50Thank you
00:27:50Thank you
00:27:51Great comments
00:27:52Shirley said it
00:27:54You are a force to be reckoned with
00:27:56Thank you so much
00:27:57I know you want to be in the semi-final
00:27:58Really good luck with your scores
00:28:00Thank you
00:28:00Thank you very much
00:28:01Thank you
00:28:02Thank you
00:28:03Thank you
00:28:05Thank you
00:28:07Thank you
00:28:08Thank you
00:28:09You were really worried about the samba weren't you
00:28:18Yeah I mean I haven't got the hips but I was trying to shake what my mama gave me so
00:28:23I literally my aim was it might not be my strongest but I gave everything I literally attacked it
00:28:31You did
00:28:32I was never having a regret on anything I went for it so you I'm happy with that
00:28:35Yeah good girl
00:28:37It was an exhausting routine
00:28:39Am I wrong?
00:28:40Yeah this one
00:28:41I was pretty gassed at the end and I have to really really push thing dig deep and he's really challenged me and that was pretty hard to aerobically for me but like I said I'd give it everything
00:28:51Yeah you really did
00:28:52Yeah you really did
00:28:53Carlos it was so much more than just the steps this week
00:28:56Oh 100% it was not it was not only the dance itself
00:29:00It's the character
00:29:01It's the costume
00:29:02Yeah
00:29:03It's the faucet
00:29:04It's everything music's about and she
00:29:06She really absolutely give it everything
00:29:08The way she looked at me
00:29:09I said Kat just look at me having fun
00:29:11Come on Kat
00:29:12But you got it
00:29:13I was like give me everything
00:29:14And she did
00:29:15Okay
00:29:16You have no idea how
00:29:17Almost prefer it when you cry
00:29:18I'm joking
00:29:19I'm joking
00:29:20We have a video from a huge fan of yours

00:30:34For a performance inspired by the greatest showman
00:30:37Now I hope everyone's going to behave themselves
00:30:40Because there's nothing worse at the theatre
00:30:42Than some unruly audience members
00:30:44Making a scene
00:30:45Stop
00:30:46Martin
00:30:47Stop
00:30:48Martin
00:30:49Stop
00:30:50Don't see
00:30:51Oh sorry
00:30:52Come on Anton
00:30:53Come on
00:30:54See what I mean
00:30:55Sorry
00:30:56Keep
00:30:57Tess
00:30:58Which way is the loo
00:30:59That way
00:31:00Excellent
00:31:02With a viennese waltz it's Valvinda and Julian
00:31:05On the stage
00:31:10It's musicals week
00:31:12Val and I have won five dance offs to get here
00:31:14Making it to the quarter finals
00:31:16Is a bonus upon a bonus a bonus a bonus a bonus
00:31:19It's extraordinary
00:31:24So we are doing a song from the greatest showman
00:31:28Never enough
00:31:29I of course will be Hugh Jackman
00:31:31Hugh Jackman
00:31:32My mum always said that I look like Hugh Jackman
00:31:34Maybe he'll see this and like he'll be like
00:31:36That's the new me
00:31:37And I could be his understudy
00:31:38Yeah maybe Jules
00:31:40I wanna
00:31:41Raise it up
00:31:42Challenging Val
00:31:43In terms of the rotation of the steps
00:31:45One
00:31:46Two
00:31:47Three
00:31:48Quite forgetting
00:31:49Quite forgetting
00:31:50The natural and pivot combination
00:31:52That travels us around the room
00:31:54It's just kind of repeating that motion
00:31:56And then not kind of getting tangled within your feet
00:32:00The greatest showman is a wonderful musical
00:32:03And I wanna get it right
00:32:08Val in order to take our routine to the next level
00:32:10We are at come alive the greatest showman
00:32:13Hello Val, Vendor and Julian
00:32:15Welcome to the circus
00:32:17Thank you
00:32:18Thank you
00:32:19How's everything going?
00:32:20Yeah we're kind of cracking it and it's fun
00:32:23How do you want your audience to feel when they've watched it?
00:32:26I think that this is a number for us to come out and show that like you know
00:32:30Yeah
00:32:31We're here we're proud to be here
00:32:32And truthfully it's been a dream to do the show for 21 years
00:32:35I can't wait to see it
00:32:37You wanna do the switch?
00:32:38Yes
00:32:39Please can we do it?
00:32:40You can have the whole thing
00:32:41Strictly really is the place where dreams are made
00:32:44Yeah exactly
00:32:45Why do you believe in?
00:32:48The song Never Enough I think is really poignant for our journey
00:32:51I want the audience to come on this journey with us
00:32:53And for them to realise that we are enough
00:32:56Dancing the Vietnamese Waltz
00:32:57Balbinda Sopal and Julian Kaya
00:33:03Dancing the Viennese Waltz, Valvinda Sopal and Julian Kehler.
00:33:19I'm trying to hold my breath, let it stay this way,
00:33:30I can't let this moment end.
00:33:38All the shining thousands of lights,
00:33:42All the stars we steal from the sky,
00:33:46Will never be enough,
00:33:50Never be enough.
00:33:54Thousands of gold are still to green,
00:33:58These eyes could hold the world,
00:34:01But it'll never be enough,
00:34:06Never be enough.
00:34:12Never be enough.
00:34:14Never be enough.
00:34:18Never be enough.
00:34:20Never be enough.
00:34:22Never be enough.
00:34:24Never be enough.
00:34:26Never be enough.
00:34:28Never be enough.
00:34:30Never be enough.
00:34:32Never be enough.
00:34:34Never be enough.
00:34:36Never be enough.
00:34:38Never be enough.
00:34:40For me
00:34:43For me
00:34:45For me
00:34:49For me
00:34:51For me
00:34:55For me
00:35:10For me
00:35:13For me
00:35:15I'm so proud of you
00:35:29You've been here
00:35:31Hello
00:35:33I can see you're quite emotional
00:35:37That was so beautiful
00:35:39You do deserve that
00:35:41I love your storytelling
00:35:43You move me every time
00:35:45What do you think our greatest showman
00:35:47Anton
00:35:49I think I love you now
00:35:51More than ever now
00:35:53Thank you
00:35:55I have to tell you this
00:35:57I
00:35:59Firstly congratulations
00:36:01Because this was epic
00:36:03This was an epic performance
00:36:05It's all
00:36:07When you're going into the theatre
00:36:09When you're walking onto stage doing a music
00:36:11You want to make an entrance
00:36:13Making an entrance is everything
00:36:15And as you walked on
00:36:17You look absolutely stunning
00:36:19You walked on
00:36:21And you held your position there
00:36:23And you started the number
00:36:25You went straight into you
00:36:27You brought everybody in
00:36:29It was an exquisite beginning
00:36:31This is a huge song
00:36:33Sung beautifully by the way
00:36:35This is a huge song
00:36:37And I would have been enormously disappointed
00:36:41If you crept round the floor
00:36:43And wasted this song
00:36:45And you didn't
00:36:47You bombed round the floor
00:36:49You swept across the floor
00:36:51You had enormous shift
00:36:53You danced
00:36:55With a freedom
00:36:56That I've only seen
00:36:57In your instant dance performance
00:36:59You were magnificent
00:37:01I absolutely
00:37:03Thank you Anton
00:37:05Thank you
00:37:07Thank you
00:37:09I had a problem with your arms
00:37:11They need to extend from the body
00:37:13Not just the shoulder
00:37:15You have a tendency on the right arm
00:37:17To do it beautifully
00:37:19But the left arm seems to be left behind
00:37:21I don't know why
00:37:23Your left shoulder sometimes
00:37:25Was raising up
00:37:26Only twice or three times
00:37:27That happened
00:37:28I'm being really particular
00:37:30Because we're
00:37:31You know
00:37:32We're getting on in the competition here
00:37:33You're still a little bit turned in
00:37:35On occasion
00:37:36I can see that you corrected it
00:37:37On the final lift
00:37:39Where the one toe should remain
00:37:41On the floor at all times
00:37:43Which is absolutely correct
00:37:44Just a little bit sickled
00:37:45If you had have just turned that out
00:37:47Sorry
00:37:48I'm so sorry
00:37:49When you're in a ball gown
00:37:51The only thing we can see
00:37:52Is your ankle and your foot
00:37:53That's fair
00:37:54So it's really important
00:37:55What the feet and the hands are doing
00:37:56That's all
00:37:57But it had glow
00:37:58It had feeling
00:37:59It had emotion
00:38:00You are a fighter
00:38:01Thank you
00:38:05You're right Marty
00:38:06Well Linda
00:38:07Honestly
00:38:08We were just holding hands
00:38:10With Shirley throughout that dance
00:38:11Really from the very minute
00:38:13The very minute you started
00:38:15And your dance partner
00:38:16His name is Julian
00:38:17Came over
00:38:18Just reminding my perimenopause brain
00:38:22You know
00:38:23I have to get going
00:38:25Get it going
00:38:26So when he came in
00:38:27And you went completely soft
00:38:29And you went completely
00:38:30Who was that?
00:38:31You were so sensitive to each other
00:38:35You were in a different type of feeling
00:38:38And I felt like
00:38:39Whatever you wanted to say
00:38:41For the last weeks
00:38:42Came out through that dance
00:38:44It must be really demoralizing
00:38:47What you have been through
00:38:50In this competition
00:38:52But at the same time
00:38:54For me
00:38:55I think you're getting crying
00:38:56Oh you're so emotional
00:38:57Oh now I have to go
00:38:58I'm gonna give you
00:38:59You are my darling
00:39:00Come on Monxy
00:39:01Come on Monxy
00:39:03Come on Monxy
00:39:06My darling
00:39:07I'm sorry
00:39:08I'm so sorry
00:39:09You did amazing
00:39:10You are so amazing
00:39:11I'm so proud of you
00:39:12I'm so proud of you
00:39:13I'm so proud of you
00:39:14I'm so proud of you
00:39:15And you did
00:39:16Oh you did
00:39:17Oh you did
00:39:18Seriously
00:39:19I'm really proud of you
00:39:20We all are
00:39:21You are adoring
00:39:22Shirley
00:39:24Well, first of all, I just want to say that you are always so put together.
00:39:28And for me, long after this competition, you will always be a hero for me.
00:39:32Because, again, like she said, going through what you go through
00:39:36and coming back to dance, that kind of performance, I had chills.
00:39:40Anton and I and Motsi, we were just...
00:39:42It was sensitivity, grace, charm, beauty, determination,
00:39:47sensitivity of finish, particularly in all the areas where you're connected.
00:39:52I didn't see the left hand, I saw the right, I saw the left,
00:39:55I saw the feeling, I saw the touch, I just loved it.
00:39:58You were great. Well done.
00:40:01Oh, thank you, Danielle.
00:40:03Good morning.
00:40:04Do you like me, lovely?
00:40:06Yeah.
00:40:07I'm good.
00:40:08You deserve all of those comments, I know how hard you've worked.
00:40:11Really, really good look at the scores.
00:40:13Thank you. Love you to bits.
00:40:15Well, Vendor and Gillian.
00:40:17Well done, Wiles.
00:40:18Yes.
00:40:19I wanted to calm down and cuddle you.
00:40:21It's a lot, right?
00:40:22It's a lot.
00:40:23Yes.
00:40:24And then Moxie got out and cuddled you, but you never complain, you get back in there,
00:40:31you're also doing a full-time job and you work so incredibly hard. How did you find that?
00:40:36That was extraordinary and I have waited all composition for that feeling and I'm so grateful.
00:40:43I'm actually really grateful for what I've heard tonight and it's just, it's blown my heart.
00:40:48It's gorgeous.
00:40:49Thank you, you're amazing.
00:40:50Jules, it was really important for you to, for Bao to love this and to do justice to that song.
00:40:56Yeah, I mean, you're, lost words, you are such an incredible woman and I just, when I was
00:41:03putting the piece together, I wanted her to finish on her own just because we're always
00:41:09together and we always speak about, you know, our strength as a partnership, but I wanted
00:41:14her to finish on her own just because we're always together and we always speak about, you
00:41:19know, our strength as a partnership.
00:41:20But I wanted her to, sorry, I wanted her to finish, stood there and saying, I am
00:41:30Balvin de Sopal, I am proud of my journey, I deserve to be here and I am, and you are more than I am.
00:41:37You're going to get us all going.
00:41:40I believe that, you are.
00:41:43You are.
00:41:44You're extraordinary and if you're feeling emotional now, I have to mention your nieces, Florence
00:41:49and Amelia.
00:41:50Yeah.

00:42:41To help Alvinder and Jules get through to the semi-final, please vote for them.
00:42:44You can do that later on tonight when voting opens.
00:42:45Still to come, Lewis and Katia close the show with a West Side Story salsa.
00:42:59Quite tricky to say.

00:43:31Tess.
00:43:32We all love a theme week on Strictly, but nobody has been more excited.
00:43:41about tonight than our next star.
00:43:42She is a massive musical theatre fan and her love of musicals is something that very much
00:43:48runs in the family.
00:43:49It is Amber and Nikita.
00:43:51Last weekend was unbelievable.
00:43:52I'm in the policy club.
00:43:53I'm going to put that on my bio on Instagram.
00:43:58I'm incredibly proud of Amber.
00:44:12We love it.
00:44:13I'm doing a Charleston.
00:44:14Yeah.
00:44:15I'm doing a swivel.
00:44:16I am so happy that I've made it to musicals.
00:44:19Life's a musical.
00:44:20I live, eat and breathe musicals.
00:44:22They're the best thing since sliced bread.
00:44:24In this Charleston, we have to hit the same precise lines that are very, very fast.
00:44:31Up.
00:44:32I'm struggling with this bottom swivel.
00:44:34A swivel is a little bit like this.
00:44:37And you know, it has to be so clean.
00:44:41It's a hard routine, but I think Amber's love for musicals is giving us a lot of great
00:44:46energy.
00:44:47Where's your love for the musical theatre came from?
00:44:51It was my older sister.
00:44:54I had to call her.
00:44:58Hi.
00:44:59Hi, girl.
00:45:00Are you okay?
00:45:01Jade's in Shanghai at the minute on tour with Les Mis.
00:45:05That's incredible.
00:45:06So how is the Charleston going?
00:45:09I do love it.
00:45:10Just keep doing what you're doing.
00:45:12You know, this is your forte.
00:45:14You know how to embody a character.
00:45:16There's no explanation to how proud I am.
00:45:20I owe every thanks and gratitude to my older sister because it was you that brought this
00:45:29world into our household.
00:45:31I want to wish you all the love and luck in the world for this weekend.
00:45:35After speaking to my sister, I am so ready to go out there.
00:45:39I am going to give it my all.
00:45:42dance on the Charleston, Amber Davis, and Nikita Kutzen.
00:45:54I dreamed last night, I got on the boat to heaven, and by some chance I had brought my dice along, and there I stood, and I hollered someone save me, but the passengers they knew right from wrong, for the people all said sit down, sit down, you're rocking the boat.
00:46:19The people all said sit down, sit down, you're rocking the boat, and the devil will bag you under, like to sharpen the pound of your checkered coat, sit down, sit down, sit down, sit down, you're rocking the boat.
00:46:31Sit down, you're rockin' the boat
00:46:39Sit down, you're rockin' the boat
00:47:16You're walking, you're walking, you're walking.
00:47:35Oh
00:48:05I
00:48:13Am no judge Craig, but I thought that was brilliant
00:48:18Too clean I thought too neat
00:48:25The timing and execution was flawless darling an absolute
00:48:35I
00:48:52Have never ever seen anything like that one word perfection
00:48:56Oh
00:49:02Destin for the West End with a number like that it reminded me a bit of the insta dance absolute chaos the backing dancers
00:49:08I want to congratulate them because they were also
00:49:16Star in every sense of the word I mean you flying up in the air you going over it everything you did was absolutely
00:49:23fan
00:49:31I mean it's Jim
00:49:35You did the you did the group dance earlier at the beginning of the night and I watched it from the side and I thought to myself
00:49:41Wow, this is a bit brilliant and I thought well, that's that's as bad as good. It's gonna get tonight
00:49:47That was absolutely astonishingly good
00:49:49But turns out no you were saving yourself for later. This was so brilliant. I don't think I've seen anything like this
00:49:55I mean we say this a lot over the years. Oh, well, I've never seen a dance better
00:49:58I would be it was very difficult to find a dance better than this ever
00:50:02In the history is really my my only disappointment about the whole thing is I can't give you 25
00:50:15Oh
00:50:17Well done
00:50:19Thank you
00:50:21You've been waiting for my home

00:50:25You got those rave reviews. Thank you. Thank you. Amber and Nikita. How about that?
00:50:30I love you
00:50:41Can you get over those comments? I mean Anton said he has never ever in his life seen a dance
00:50:48I can't believe that
00:50:49I was very confused not gonna lie
00:50:51He thought Craig hated it
00:50:53Well, no, because he started off with too clean and but you're in the face
00:50:56And I was like, too clean? No, I messed it up
00:50:59I thought it was better if it's clean
00:51:01How was it having your two worlds collide?
00:51:05Do you know what? This week has been madness for me
00:51:08Yeah

00:53:08Head to the website to get ready to vote at the end of tonight's show.
00:53:13Congratulations, Tess.
00:53:15Oh, I love her 40.
00:53:17Our final star is taking on one of the biggest musicals of all time,
00:53:22West Side Story.
00:53:23It has themes of rivalry, passion and revenge.
00:53:27And he's hoping to channel all of that with tonight's performance.
00:53:30Guys, that's actually quite distracting.
00:53:33Sorry, darling.
00:53:35With a salsa, it's Lewis and Katya.
00:53:39What are you like?
00:53:44For our musical, we are doing West Side Story.
00:53:50Iconic.
00:53:50Isn't it the one about the yellow brick road?
00:53:54No, so it's the sharks and the jets trying to figure out how they're going to live together,
00:54:00basically.
00:54:00On the streets of New York City, the dance at the gym.
00:54:04is where we try to sort the conflict through dance.
00:54:09I love how choreography is created, like to show that challenging each other's side.
00:54:13Yeah.
00:54:15That's us in purple.
00:54:16Anita and Bernardo.
00:54:18He's got rhythm.
00:54:19He's really showcasing it there.
00:54:21Can I play a different character then?
00:54:23They are claiming their territory.
00:54:26Let's try and claim our place in the semi-final, shall we?
00:54:30One, two, three.
00:54:31One, two, three.
00:54:32One, two, three.
00:54:33Salsa now.
00:54:34Our salsa is an action-packed routine.
00:54:37Cha-cha-boom-pa-ra-da.
00:54:39Ta-da!
00:54:40It is very quick.
00:54:41You know, there's a lot of different tempo changes and energy changes within the dance,
00:54:45so I need to get my head around all of that.
00:54:47Don't rush 70.
00:54:49My hips, man.
00:54:50Need a bit of lard.
00:54:52Craig said last week...
00:54:54The hips, I thought, lacked a little bit of fluidity.
00:54:57That is something I'm going to try and take on board and put into this dance.
00:55:01A weight that big?
00:55:02Yeah.
00:55:03Yeah.
00:55:04Yeah.
00:55:05Bernardo is the leader of the Sharks.
00:55:08He has to be assertive.
00:55:10And this dance has to get me through to the semi-final.
00:55:14So I'm going to give it my absolute hug.
00:55:16Shake it.
00:55:17Saka-saka-saka.
00:55:18Yeah!
00:55:19My head nearly fell off.
00:55:26Dancing with the Salsa, Lewis Coker and Katya James.
00:55:31Oye, Javi, ponle fuego!
00:55:34Vamos!
00:55:43Vamos!
00:55:44Vamos!
00:55:45Go!
00:56:00You're welcome!
00:56:13You are welcome!
00:56:14You are welcome!
00:56:15You are welcome!
00:57:36Thank you
00:57:51The effort you put into every routine it's just something to behold something magical happens
00:57:56What do you think of that salsa Motsy? Wow?
00:57:58Wow, I think actually the first time I see you after a dance actually breathing
00:58:03You always thought about up the dance and you're just like so chilled
00:58:07But this time this is really you pushed it physically there was so much
00:58:12Content in this dance and I was really trying to follow you where is he where is he and you were always the star within the dance
00:58:18That is something absolutely sensational with so many great dancers next to you. You did a great job
00:58:27I
00:58:29I kind of agree in certain places that it was okay, but it wasn't your best dance for me by far
00:58:36Let me please let me explain so there was areas where you were running and you couldn't quite get where you were going
00:58:42There was missed connections on all these hustle things. I know them very well
00:58:46You looked a little bit tight and as you said at the end you're breathing while you're facing
00:58:50But while you were dancing it really needed to exhale and go but was the dance fantastic?
00:58:56Yes, was it your best not in my opinion, but but still there was a lot to like thank you
00:59:05Your you have this incredible physicality as the dancer you come out. It's all sort of going war and it's all sparkly and
00:59:13Oh
00:59:15Touch me now
00:59:17I'm a little bit sweaty and I quite like it. It's all of that
00:59:20It's perfect for this dance and it was perfect. The characterization was amazing come down here wham and you give it all that
00:59:27That that that come on girl and all of that and it was so the side-by-side stuff the musical theater stuff was strong
00:59:33Oh, and you get nice the partnering stuff wasn't you needed to be a bit more subtle
00:59:40And then a bit more nuance and that suffered because of it, but all in all I mean
00:59:45Oh, I mean yes, I'd rather liked it. I have to say thank you well done. Thank you
00:59:51I know you've been working on those hits for a certain someone yes
00:59:58Well the basic salsa I thought was just a little bit square I could see that you've worked on your hips
01:00:04But there wasn't any type of figure-eight rotation in there which softens it often makes it melty, you know
01:00:11The footwork was slightly turned in at times as well, which doesn't help it
01:00:16Things weren't finished in this bizarrely like the double arm wrap you didn't come to a complete end on it
01:00:25I didn't know where the picture was meant to be and I'm sort of on the side of Shelley
01:00:30I don't think it actually is your best dance. We have seen you dance better
01:00:34I mean, I love your energy the turns in second. I mean hello are incredible. I mean, there's not many people can do that
01:00:40You have a tag power darling and a lot of punch so congratulations
01:00:46Thank you, but we know that you always listen to what that you just say you always take it on board
01:00:50And we know you want to be in the semi-finals. So good luck with those scores
01:01:08Well done there is you love this dance didn't you I didn't tell them comments
01:01:13Yeah, I did I thought it was really fun. I was enjoying the sort of playfulness and trying to recreate the scenes from the film
01:01:21Yeah, really enjoyed it. Yeah, I know you're incredible incredibly grateful for the extra dancers as well
01:01:26Aren't you so lovely and you just enjoy being out there a whole gang of you
01:01:30I love just being there with a big groove. It's like being at home with me brothers. I think
01:01:33Yeah, you know that sort of
01:01:36Energy that they bring it just lifts me to like a new level. So yeah, we couldn't have done it without them. Thank you though
01:01:40Yeah, tell me your motto of the week. Is it and it is also is it your motto for life?
01:01:45I mean it's mostly for life more is more everybody knows
01:01:48I've just been looking for a partner who can match me yeah, and finally a fun one
01:01:52Yeah, oh my life. I've been told less cats you less never more is more there it is. We have a very special video
01:02:02So you have a look at this
