00:00LeBron James did something last night I didn't see coming.
00:04So LeBron and the Lakers in a close game, tie game,
00:08you know, a clock ticking down, LeBron's got the rock,
00:11top of the key is where he gets it,
00:13and he's got a choice to make.
00:15Take the hero ball it, take the last shot, win the game,
00:19or miss the shot, go to overtime,
00:21or you'll pass the rock and hope that a teammate can knock down a game winner.
00:25But the situation was interesting because LeBron James,
00:28all that talk from a couple days ago,
00:30when he selfishly got his 10 points to keep that 1,200-plus game streak alive
00:34of consecutive games with 10 points or more,
00:37LeBron clearly heard the criticisms.
00:40There's no doubt in my mind.
00:41I know LeBron and his people monitor what I say on this show
00:44and what other people say negatively about him,
00:47and he took a little, you know, butthurt to the comments made
00:52about the fact that, you know, it was more important for him
00:55to score 10 points than for the other side.
00:57Butthurt? Where did that come from?
01:00Fair criticism.
01:00He doesn't like fair criticism.
01:02So all of a sudden, we found ourselves again last night in the same spot.
01:06Eight points, not 10.
01:08Ball in his hand.
01:10Chance to, worst-case scenario, go to overtime,
01:13make a bucket, get to 10, keep the streak alive,
01:15or take the shot, get to 10, and win the game.
01:18Or pass it up, and if Hoochie Mama doesn't make the shot,
01:23you can still get to 10.
01:25And LeBron James, sensitive to the criticism from just 48 hours earlier,
01:31did the right thing.
01:33And instead of taking the shot, which you know he's going to miss
01:36because he's the worst end-of-quarter, end-of-a-half,
01:39end-of-overtime shooter in the history of basketball,
01:41decides to pass it to Rui Hoochie Mama Mama,
01:45who makes the shot.
01:46And when he makes the shot at the buzzer,
01:49excuse me, Lakers win,
01:50and LeBron's streak, bang, comes to an end.
01:54And I just want to say, LeBron,
01:56I appreciate the fact that you listen to me.
01:59And I appreciate the fact that my words reach your soul.
02:03And I appreciate the fact that you are saying,
02:06without saying the words,
02:07you know what?
02:08Carton was right.
02:10After all this time, I've got to admit
02:12that Craigie Carton was right,
02:14and I've got to stop being a stat-padding,
02:17selfish basketball player.
02:19Sometimes it's not about me.
02:21Sometimes it's not about my personal records.
02:23Sometimes it's about doing the right thing.
02:26And for the first time,
02:28since he became a Laker, for sure,
02:30he did the right thing last night
02:31and said, okay,
02:33I'm willing to risk my dopey streak.
02:36That means nothing to anybody but him.
02:38You'll come to an end
02:39by making the right basketball play.
02:42And I'm glad I had an impact
02:44on how you play basketball, LeBron.
02:46I'm here for you every day.
02:48If you ever want any more advice or help,
02:49you just come calling.
02:51I'm here for you.
02:52And memo to one of my favorite actors
02:54and comedians of all time,
02:56Jamie Foxx.
02:57Yeah?
02:57How do you like me now, Jamie?
02:59Because now LeBron's doing
03:00what I tell him to do all.
03:01No, no, no.
03:02We're getting you checked after the show.
03:03What happened?
03:04This is the craziest rant
03:05in the history of crazy.
03:06Not a rant.
03:07You're talking about the player
03:08with the fourth most assist
03:09in the sports history.
03:10He's played more games than he was.
03:11No, no, no.
03:12The fourth most assist, okay, ever.
03:15Is that better?
03:16And you're acting like this is the first time
03:17he's made the right basketball play.
03:19It's rare.
03:19He's only made the right basketball play.
03:21He got ripped for making
03:22the right basketball play.
03:23Now you're ripping him
03:24for making the best to take credit.
03:26The hate that comes from you.
03:28It's not hate.
03:29No, it's hate.
03:29It's not hate.
03:29No, it's pure hate.
03:30He's a great basketball player.
03:31It goes beyond hate.
03:32You are.
03:33Hold on.
03:33Don't you think it's interesting
03:34that 48 hours after I attacked him
03:36for being selfish,
03:38he heard it and decided,
03:40you know what?
03:40You were wrong then too.
03:41Craig's right.
03:42I should probably not be selfish.
03:44No, no.
03:44Now listen.
03:45Criticism's fair.
03:46But you are a Jedi-level hater
03:48when it comes to LeBron.
03:49Jedi-level.
03:50There is no higher level, okay,
03:52of hate than Jedi-level, okay?
03:55I'll take it.
03:55Yeah, hate him.
03:56And he made the right basketball play.
03:58I get it.
03:58He deserves credit,
04:00not backhanded credit.
04:01Lakers get the win.
04:02LeBron made the right move.
04:04And I'm responsible for it.
04:05And I'm responsible for it.
