Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin have launched an ambitious Economic Cooperation Programme aimed at boosting trade, investment, and strategic collaboration till 2030. Announced at the 23rd India–Russia Annual Summit in New Delhi, the plan broadens ties across energy, fertilisers, maritime logistics, migration, health, and nuclear technology. Russia assured uninterrupted fuel supplies, while new agreements pave the way for a urea plant in Russia, enhanced port connectivity, and cooperation on small modular nuclear reactors. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to raising bilateral trade to $100 billion, expanding Arctic collaboration, and strengthening supply chains through critical minerals and national currency settlement. The visit, marked by strong personal rapport between Modi and Putin, underscored decades of trust and a shared strategic outlook in a changing global order.
