00:01Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim met Russian President Vladimir Putin
00:06on the sidelines of the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit in Kazan on Wednesday,
00:10with both leaders expressing a strong desire to expand bilateral cooperation.
00:15Putin noted that the two countries are approaching the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year,
00:20and said both sides bring with them a track record of solid engagement.
00:24On the economic front, bilateral trade grew by 12.9% in 2025, a figure Putin described as a good
00:32result.
00:33Both leaders also discussed potential cooperation in energy and oil supply security,
00:38emerging technologies, cyber security, artificial intelligence, modern agriculture, and the pharmaceutical sector.
00:45The two sides further explored visa liberalization to ease people-to-people movement,
00:50and discussed expanding trade and investment using local currencies, the ringgit and the ruble.
00:55The Prime Minister's office said the Madani government will continue pursuing strategic measures
01:00to strengthen Malaysia's energy security, ensuring stability and resilience of supply
01:05for the long-term benefit of the rakyat.
