00:56Let's dance!
01:06We're the Urbans!
01:09Welcome to Christmas in the Country!
01:11Woo!
01:13Our Christmas display is what I would call a lot,
01:16but I don't mean a lot in a bad way.
01:18I mean a lot in a great way.
01:20I'm loving the electrical, babe.
01:21Yeah, I know who you are.
01:22Loving the electrical.
01:23We have so much fun putting this up.
01:25Bring on the news!
01:26Gives us our world here at Christmas time.
01:28We love to do it together.
01:30That's what makes it so special.
01:32We're gonna make another Christmas ball.
01:34Another Christmas ball?
01:35We have to have some more in the trees.
01:36Okay.
01:37First of all, I'm the decorator.
01:39I've gotta have it just right.
01:41You're the boss, I'm the laborer.
01:43This is why I let you know what we need to do.
01:45She usually comes to me and says,
01:47I would like to have this.
01:50Can you build it for me?
01:52I say yes.
01:54I'm here to please.
01:55So you'll keep me around.
01:57And I love you for it.
01:58We have a small farm here,
02:00and anything we need new for the Christmas show,
02:03we can just go out back in the pasture or in the shop,
02:07and we can build anything we want.
02:09The hanging balls are made out of the chicken wire.
02:12We have a homemade bow,
02:13which is made out of just fencing material.
02:16The homemade stars on top of the roof
02:18are made out of rebar.
02:20The rebar.
02:21You can make it straight,
02:22you can make it curve,
02:23you can do whatever you want to with it.
02:25Rebar, rebar, rebar.
02:26Rebar, yeah.
02:27Paint and glitter.
02:28Exactly.
02:29Let's go get welding.
02:31All right.
02:32We put so much heart into this.
02:34There you go.
02:35Perfect.
02:36To have Tanya come to this display
02:38to see everything we have done
02:40is basically a dream come true for us.
02:50Hey, Tanya's coming!

03:08You're just quite so welcome!
03:09My goodness!
03:11I am Sali Irvin.
03:12This is my husband, Kenny Irvin.
03:14Kenny.
03:152002.
03:16What guy started in all of this?
03:17She got me into it
03:18because I wasn't too excited
03:19about putting Christmas lights up
03:21at all.
03:22At all.
03:23At all, Tanya.
03:24Go figure!
03:25And yet here you are
03:26in the great Christmas light fight!
03:27No.
03:28No.
03:29Right?
03:30I hope you can see it.
03:31So what can I expect tonight?
03:35Country, lots of lovely lights, and lots of excitement and fun.
03:39Hey, all right.
03:39I like it, yeah.
03:41So Texas, you know, they have cornhole,
03:43so we improvised a little bit, made the hole a little bit bigger.
03:46Okay.
03:47So we're going to see if you can put four balls in four holes to get the lights to come on.
03:53Yes.
03:54How much time do you guys all have?
03:55I know.
03:56Yay!
03:58Woo!
04:01All right, here we go.
04:05Yes!
04:08Very good.
04:09You guys are so good for me.
04:10I love it, love it.
04:11All right, next basket.
04:13Here we go.
04:16Oh!
04:17Whoa!
04:17That was just a cake.
04:19Yeah, there you go again.
04:20Just a cake.
04:21How about this?
04:21There you go.
04:22Woo!
04:23Woo!
04:25Do it again.
04:26Woo!
04:27Woo!
04:27Woo!
04:28Woo!
04:28Woo!
04:29Woo!
04:30Woo!
04:31Woo!
04:31Obviously, I'm going to sink this show!
04:35Yeah!
04:36Woo!
04:37Woo!
04:38Woo!
04:38Woo!
04:39Woo!
04:39Woo!
04:40Woo!
04:40Woo!
04:41All right, let's count it down.
04:42Three, two, one.
04:44Woo!
04:44Woo!
04:45Woo!
04:45Woo!
04:46Woo!
04:47Woo!
04:47Woo!
04:48Woo!
04:49Woo!
04:50Woo!
04:51Woo!
04:51Woo!
04:52Woo!
04:53Woo!
04:54Woo!
04:54Woo!
04:55Woo!
04:55Woo!
04:56Woo!
04:56Woo!
04:57Woo!
04:57Woo!
04:58Woo!
04:59Woo!
04:59Oh, it's so tight.
05:00It's so colorful.
05:02I see giant inflatable.
05:05Giant reindeer.
05:07Massive.
05:08Oh, small man.
05:10Aren't you?
05:10I know.
05:10What?
05:11I'm seeing trees, trees, trees, and more trees.
05:14I know, right?
05:15So many trees.
05:17It's beautiful.
05:18Your entire house covered in lights.
05:21I love this pole with the wreath right at the top.
05:24This is amazing.
05:29Very, very cool.
05:32Can we go take a look?
05:34Yes, let's go.
05:36We wish you an awesome Christmas.
05:40We wish you a country Christmas.
05:44We wish you a country Christmas and a happy new year.
05:50This is so fun.
05:57The whole snowman arch is definitely a first.
06:00It takes you all the way down this path.
06:03This is a legit holiday red carpet moment.
06:07How long is this?
06:09Every section is 10 foot long.
06:11Almost 100 feet long.
06:13So it's PVC pipe,
06:14and it's rebar stakes in there to hold it.
06:17Holding it down?
06:18They slide over, and it goes up,
06:19and then we screw it with a cross.
06:21Well, I'm really impressed with how nice it goes
06:23straight all the way down without sagging.
06:27And these trees, they're so cute.
06:29I'm like an official Christmas tree hugger.
06:32And I love the lights,
06:34the way they're perfectly lined up.
06:36And we have a homemade bow
06:37that is made out of fencing material.
06:40Right.
06:40We got a little piece of fence just to show you.
06:43This is what you use to actually make a bow.
06:45Because it rolls up nice and easy,
06:47you can roll it and wrap the lights,
06:49and it holds its position.
06:50Genius.
06:52Kenneth made those stars up there,
06:54and they're made out of rebar.
06:55It is one 20-foot piece.
06:57What?
06:57And then I heat it up and bend it.
07:00I can barely hand-draw a perfect star,
07:03yet you've managed to bend rebar.
07:05That's incredible.
07:10I wanted to show you these here.
07:12Oh, yeah.
07:12We call these the Kenny Canes.
07:15So these are a piece of rebar.
07:17Stop it right now.
07:18Yes.
07:18Who has ever put glitter on rebar before?
07:23They're easy to make,
07:24but if you have an anvil,
07:25it's easier to hit them,
07:27to bend them,
07:27to get the curvature that you need.
07:30So an anvil, basically,
07:31it helps you bend the rebar.
07:34It's set on a stand,
07:35and you can pound on it.
07:36And he put glitter on them.
07:37Yeah, I know.
07:39Kenny, you have quite literally
07:40raised the rebar on the wall.
07:43That's amazing.
07:44I love it.
07:44Yeah, I love it.
07:48I love it.
07:48It's amazing.
07:53Now, this is a cool mega tree,
07:54and it's wrapped so tightly with lights.
07:57There's like close to 15,000 lights.
08:00On this one tree.
08:01Yes.
08:02It was a basketball goal for the base.
08:04We extended it up.
08:06I welded a two-inch flange on the top
08:09and then welded washers on the rebar at an angle
08:12so the rebars would come out.
08:14You have a very tight relationship with rebar.
08:17Yes.
08:17Yes.
08:21I think it's only fitting that we talk about
08:23the great big reindeer in the room.
08:26How tall is this?
08:28This guy is 27 foot tall.
08:31You have this giant reindeer.
08:33You have giant soldiers.
08:36Santa's hanging out in your yard.
08:38It's great.
08:38You have so many great inflatables.
08:41This is the most important one, though, I think.
08:43Everybody's always running through their legs.
08:44Come on.
08:44We're going to run through the legs.
08:46Let's go.
08:46Let's go.
08:47We've got to do it.
08:47We could be little kids.
08:49Yep.
08:49One, two, three.
08:50Let's go.
08:51Let's go see some more.
08:56We have some more exciting stuff to show you.
08:58Giddy up.
08:58Let's go.
09:03Tanya, around this corner, we have something very exciting.
09:06A surprise.
09:07A surprise.
09:08You guys ready for a surprise?
09:10Yeah.
09:13This is a carnival.
09:15It's an actual carnival.
09:17This is amazing.
09:36All right.
09:37I'm ready to play some games.
09:39I know.
09:40You can have a cookie.
09:41A candy cane.
09:44Oh.
09:47Real good.
09:48Yeah.
09:49Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo.
09:50You did it.
09:51Who wants to go up against me?
09:54Wow.
09:55Did you see that?
09:56Nice job.
09:57I can see why everybody loves this so much.
10:01It's so fun and interactive.
10:03Everyone's having a great time.
10:05Do you change it up every year?
10:06We usually try to add something.
10:08This year, it was the Ferris wheel.
10:11I mean, this is unbelievable.
10:12It took us about a month.
10:14Oh, wow.
10:15A month to do it.
10:16To work it at night.
10:17So you just made it from scratch?
10:20It's all made out of one-inch angle iron.
10:22It weighs about 500 pounds, but it comes apart in pieces.
10:26There's eight seats on it, and then the seat comes off.
10:28It comes off.
10:29But you made every piece of this.
10:31Every piece.
10:32Wow.
10:32Every piece.
10:34Yeah.
10:34This is a bicycle wheel that we had to use for the pulley.
10:38Turn the red switch.
10:39Oh, wow.
10:41Look at this thing.
10:42Is it great?
10:42It goes fast.
10:44So smooth.
10:46This is awesome.
10:47And I love the way you decorated with lights and greenery and elves.
10:52It's next level.
10:54Kenny and Sally are a dream duo.
10:56They laugh.
10:57They have fun.
10:58But most of all, they know how to throw down a Christmas display.
11:02You guys are the best.
11:04How much fun did we have?
11:06This was amazing.
11:07It's magnificent.
11:08You had inflatables just larger than life.
11:12I thought it was so fun how you guys made so much of what's on your display with the rebar,
11:19and then the rebar, and then the rebar.
11:23I love how creative you guys got with that unbelievable Ferris wheel.
11:28That love certainly shows in what you do for people with your display.
11:33The expression and the joy and the happiness on their face,
11:37that's what makes this all worth it.
11:40This is what we do.
11:41All right.
11:41Well, before I get going, can I get a great, big, giant, inflatable-sized hug?
11:46Oh, so much fun.
11:49Yeah.
11:50All right.
11:50Merry Christmas.
11:53That was great.
11:54Unbelievable.
11:55Rebar, rebar, rebar.
11:56She loved it.
11:56Rebar, rebar, rebar.
11:58We're the Lunar Family.
12:05And our synchronized pixel light show will eclipse the competition.
12:09I love it.
12:10That looks so good.
12:12Lunar Family Lights, it's a synchronized pixel light show
12:15with over 120,000 individual pixels placed throughout the display.
12:21With the LED panels, you add those in, we're over 1.3 million channels of light, just like
12:31somebody flicking a light switch every second.
12:34His birthday present to himself is putting up Christmas lights in the summer.
12:37It's pretty crazy, but, hey, you know, why not?
12:41Hey, can you grab me that PVC?
12:43Basically, I'm a support team.
12:44Whatever Brad needs help with, I'm happy to do it.
12:47And I can use a power tool, and I'm pretty good with my hands.
12:53She's the zip tie queen.
12:55Don't let her fool you.
12:56Let go.
12:57Out of the 250 sequences, these are the ones that we're going to run.
13:02I do all the programming.
13:04You've got to tell the program exactly where every single light is in relation to the prop.
13:09DIY-wise, I have the frame for our huge 17.5-foot flake.
13:16I cemented that in the ground.
13:19We've got some 3D printed mounts.
13:22He is willing to 3D print his own stuff, and I think that's really cool.
13:28I got at least 120 or 30 more of these to print.
13:32They take about an hour and a half each.
13:36I realize that's a lot of time.
13:38His attention to detail is unreal.
13:41He has such a love for not only the lights, but also the process of doing it, that it's mind-blowing.
14:08Hi, everybody!
14:09Hi!
14:11It's so nice to see you guys!
14:14Well, I'm Tanya.
14:15Tanya, we're the Lunars.
14:16This is my beautiful mother, Nora.
14:17Hi.
14:18Hi.
14:18This is my wife, Candace.
14:20This is my youngest daughter, Kylie.
14:22Hi.
14:22And my oldest daughter, Shannon.
14:24And we want to welcome you out to our animated, synchronized light show.
14:27Okay.
14:28Only 120,000 pixels and about 1.3, 1.4 million channels.
14:33Don't give me too much information.
14:36This show is out of this world.
14:38Oh, I like that, especially since your last name is Lunar.
14:42We were born for this.
14:43Yes.
14:44We were born for this.
14:45I love all the puns, by the way.
14:46I'm a total pun girl, so...
14:48But it's missing one light, and we need you to help us with that.
14:53Okay.
14:53We're going to take this candle, and we're going to go ahead and have you walk up to the gingerbread
14:57family spinner on the table over there, set it in the middle, and that's going to start
15:01the magic.
15:03That's all.
15:04Okay.
15:05Who's ready?
15:06Let's go.
15:07Let's go.
15:08Count it down in 3, 2, 1.
15:14It's going.
15:16It's going.
15:17It's going.
15:22Three, two, one!
15:27It's going, it's going, it's going!
15:30It's going!
15:31It's going!
15:32Woo!
15:34Wow!
15:35Oh, this is beautiful!
15:40Joy to the world, joy to the world!
15:45Joy to the world, the Lord has come.
15:49Let Earth receive parking.
15:53Oh, my goodness!
15:54Let every heart prepare him move.
15:59I love how you use this color here.
16:02The palette is just stunning.
16:04And heaven and heaven and nature see.
16:09That's so great.
16:10And look at this.
16:11You have candy canes.
16:12You have arches.
16:13You have so many snowflakes covering the house.
16:16I see your mini pixels on the grass.
16:20It's growing right out of the ground.
16:22Even the driveway is dancing and moving and spinning.
16:25That giant snowflake.
16:28Joy to the world.
16:36Woo!
16:37Yes!
16:38Great job!
16:39That was awesome!
16:40I say we go take a look.
16:41Do you want to take a look?
16:42Yes!
16:43I do!
16:44Can we bring them with us?
16:45I would love that!
16:46This display is amazing.
16:47It's a candy cane!
16:48Look at all of this.
16:49These arches are so amazing.
16:51It's just layers and layers and layers.
16:52But yes, this candy cane is pretty much my height.
16:58These are big.
16:59You have so many of them.
17:00Oh yeah, there's 18.
17:01There's nine on each side.
17:02I use half inch mesh.
17:03Every single one of these rows we mapped out inch by inch.
17:06You are meticulous.
17:07We put some PVC on the back.
17:08Two stacks of rebar and we pound them three feet down and we put them in real good.
17:13Oh, that's so cool.
17:14And then you just slide them down.
17:15It's magic.
17:16It's that simple.
17:17Genius!
17:18I promise you've never seen these before.
17:19These are three foot tall, blow mold.
17:20We love taking things that didn't have animation.
17:21And then you just put them in real good.
17:22And then you just slide them down.
17:23It's magic.
17:24It's that simple.
17:25Genius!
17:26I promise you've never seen these before.
17:41These are three foot tall, blow mold.
17:44We love taking things that didn't have animation.
17:47We have animated lighting and giving it new life.
17:50Take the bulbs out.
17:51Oh!
17:52Once again, using my good friend PVCs and zip ties.
17:54Yes!
17:55Every single zip tie is cut.
17:57We don't leave the tails.
17:58Meticulous precision right there.
18:00So you just put them right back on, just like every light bulb.
18:03Perfect.
18:04And that answers the question, how many people does it take to change a light bulb?
18:12So we have our joy sign.
18:14It's the first prop I did with pixels.
18:17Do you want to see the magic in the back?
18:18I really do, actually.
18:19Awesome.
18:20I love that stuff.
18:21Watch your step.
18:22Yep.
18:23So I just kind of winged this because I don't have these skills.
18:26But you just kind of like dream it up.
18:28All this we learn from videos.
18:30Videos!
18:31A lot of trial and error.
18:33You don't sleep.
18:34The things you can achieve in life when you use that other half of the day.
18:38I need sleep!
18:39Coming over here.
18:40Okay.
18:41So I looked out and got some of this framing and added garden stakes to them.
18:46Oh!
18:47And every arm had to have the exact same amount of lights for it to work.
18:51No, that's so cool.
18:52I love that you got creative.
18:54The garden stakes really gives us like sparkly rays of sunshine coming out of here.
18:59So that was very clever.
19:01So we have the framing and a million zip ties.
19:04Then we did 130 pounds of concrete in each of these.
19:07We're using 18 inch bikes in the ground, ratchet straps, guy wires.
19:12And if you notice, this thing barely moves.
19:14Yeah.
19:15Last week we just had 60 mile per hour winds and this is still standing.
19:20It didn't fludge.
19:21It didn't go anywhere.
19:22You could probably hang off that thing and it would be fine.
19:24Don't tempt me with a good time because I will.
19:26I will.
19:27I want to show you one of our seven pixel fours.
19:39Through the beauty of technology with some servos we can actually animate this, have it sing
19:44and dance with the music.
19:45Did you figure out how to make this whole thing?
19:48I had to figure out how to put it together and make it work and run the programming.
19:52It definitely leaves not a bald spot on the lawn.
19:56And if you keep looking up, I call it the mega flake.
19:59Yeah.
20:00Because the seven and a half foot flake that used to be up there just wasn't big enough.
20:03That's right.
20:04Let's go to the moon.
20:05Hey.
20:06Hey.
20:10I like the snowflake.
20:11I like that big one.
20:13I actually have a 17 and a half foot tall snowflake.
20:18What?
20:19There's 4,500 lights in here.
20:20Wow.
20:21I got a whole trussing system that, you know, you'd see at a rock concert.
20:24Four by four inch beams in here, concreted in the ground 40 inches.
20:28I mean, it looks awesome, but it's so worth it because when you stand on the street and
20:32you look at it, it's a wow.
20:34So if this wasn't enough, one of the first show pieces we ever did was these arches.
20:394,800 lights added another 2,256 in the driveway.
20:45Yes.
20:46And staggered it level per level per level like it's blowing up into the matrix.
20:52If we need to, at nighttime, what we do is we can easily pop these off.
20:56Ah.
20:57So that way we can drive through.
20:58Oh, yeah.
20:59Well, I love the dynamics of everything.
21:01It's very cool.
21:03Whoa.
21:04This is so pretty.
21:06All right, Tanya, I want to show you something that we only show to our closest family and
21:11friends.
21:12This is cute.
21:13So my stepdad, George, made this 20-some years ago for all the kids and the grandkids.
21:18That's so nice.
21:19He handcrafted a lot of stuff.
21:21And, of course, we had to add some lights to it to give it our own little flair.
21:25Unfortunately, he passed away two years ago.
21:28He inspired me to do a display, and it was tough.
21:33It was tough.
21:34But I know he's looking down because you can see it from there.
21:38Yes, yes, because you can, right?
21:40The fact that you have this is super meaningful, and it really ties back to what the holiday
21:44season is all about.
21:46It's about family, as you guys are very big on.
21:49I'd love to show you the inside.
21:51I would love to see.
21:52Do you want to go ahead and open the door?
21:54Okay.
21:55Oh, look at this.
21:57That is so sweet.
21:59Can I go in?
22:00Absolutely.
22:01You can stand up in there.
22:02Oh, no.
22:03Yeah, I can.
22:04You're right.
22:05Oh, this is so amazing.
22:08There's some milk and cookies there for you.
22:10Oh, yes.
22:11So, Tanya, so speaking of Brad's stepdad, this is a portrait.
22:19He looks like Santa.
22:20Doesn't he?
22:21Yes.
22:22I thought that was Santa.
22:24I love it.
22:25Do you also smell in there?
22:27Yes, it smells like gingerbread house.
22:29Gingerbread house.
22:30This is awesome.
22:32I'm going to finish my cookie.
22:33Excuse me.
22:34I'm just going to have a little moment to myself.
22:37Let us know when you're ready.
22:39All right, Tanya, I wanted to show you something that's super special to us.
22:51Look at this.
22:52You guys, this is amazing.
22:54Oh, you guys, I love this.
22:56Yeah, these are all made by my stepfather.
22:59Oh, my gosh, you guys.
23:00And we've been taking the last couple years and hand painting all of these.
23:05You know what?
23:06When you look at them up close, they're like puzzles that are put together.
23:09Correct.
23:10Which is incredible.
23:11They're all little, itsy-bitsy pieces that were all hand-cut and jigsawed.
23:15Look at all the detail.
23:17I know George did not put my name on that list.
23:21No.
23:22No, but now that you're part of the family, we had to put you on the nice list.
23:29And I'm right at the top.
23:30That's right.
23:31Okay.
23:32Go figure.
23:33The Lunar family has a special family dynamic.
23:35You can just tell being around them.
23:37I see that coming through in their display.
23:40It had a little bit of everything.
23:42We had a light show.
23:43We had nostalgia.
23:44We had a gingerbread house.
23:46What else could you ask for?
23:48That was so amazing.
23:50Just from the moment I walked up, I felt goosebumps.
23:54And it just got better and bigger.
23:56I absolutely love the DIY.
23:58But the part that really got me the most was the sentiment.
24:01The fact that a lot of the influence is coming from your stepdad.
24:05And I felt it.
24:06Awesome.
24:07Thank you so much.
24:09Of course.
24:10You're leaving me with a big smile on my face.
24:15I do have to get going.
24:17Can I have one?
24:18Yeah.
24:19Bring it in.
24:20She's part of the family now.
24:22Thank you so much.
24:24You're welcome to the family.
24:25Yes.
24:26Welcome to the Lunar.
24:27Thanks for having me.
24:28Bye.
24:29Bye.
24:30I don't know, guys.
24:31I think we had a winner.
24:33I agree.
24:34All the way to the moon, you might say.
24:36Oh.
24:37Nobody's as Lunar tick as us.
24:40We're the Clopass family.
24:45And when it comes to Christmas lights, we're always on the nice list.
24:50Let's just outline it all the way around.
24:53Yeah.
24:54That'll work.
24:55I may not be crazy where I build a mass of things.
24:59But everything that's out there has some part of DIY to it.
25:04These are some of the handmade wood items that we made.
25:06We put lights in them all.
25:07So these go all the way around the eaves of the house.
25:11We have 278 handmade wood figures.
25:15There's some reindeer, Santas.
25:17Alan does a lot of the outside display work.
25:21I do the painting and artistry.
25:25There's the missus redoing part of the train that was old and cracked up.
25:30We've been decorating over 36 years.
25:33And every year we got a little more and a little more and a little more.
25:37We're going crazy with lights.
25:39But then the madness started.
25:41Here's the secret to our display.
25:43A scroll with names on it.
25:46Santa has a scroll with the names on it.
25:49We started something like that many years ago.
25:51We put our children's names, the grandkids' names, and a lot of the neighborhood's names on scrolls and put them in the yard.
25:58And now what happens every time a kid comes, if their name isn't on a scroll, we add it.
26:04These are all the new names that we got last year.
26:07I believe we had 320 to 330 new names, another 30 new scrolls.
26:13Currently we have 2,295 names, and I've written every single one.
26:21It's only the beginning, right, dear?
26:24Yep.
26:25Christmas means to me tradition.
26:27I love to have traditions in the family that stay with you your whole life.
26:31And I think we've created that with our display.
26:33The kids get to come, find their names year after year.
26:37It's pretty cool.
26:38The last scroll of the year to be put in.
26:41All right, they're all in.
26:59Look at them!
27:01Hi, everyone!
27:02Welcome, Tonya!
27:03I'm Alan Kolkatz, my wife Susan.
27:04We've been decorating for over 30 years, and we just had our 36-year anniversary yesterday.
27:17Yeah, baby!
27:18Happy anniversary!
27:20We've been decorating for so long, it gets a little bigger, a little better every year.
27:25It really comes from the heart.
27:27Everything is handmade.
27:28Ooh, I love the way you're building it up.
27:31Oh!
27:32I'm so excited to see it!
27:33So tell me, how do we get it started?
27:35Well, let's step up to our table up here.
27:37All right, you guys!
27:38This is it!
27:39It's been on my wish list for many years to be on the show.
27:45We're finally here.
27:46Yes.
27:47All I need you to do is to plug it in, and we'll see magic.
27:50Okay.
27:51Are you guys ready?
27:52Yeah!
27:53Yeah!
27:54Yeah!
27:55Countdown, ready?
27:56Three!
27:57Two!
27:58One!
27:59Light out!
28:00Yeah!
28:01Whoa!
28:02Three!
28:03Two!
28:04One!
28:05Light out!
28:06Yeah!
28:07Woo!
28:08Woo!
28:09Woo!
28:10Woo!
28:11Woo!
28:12Woo!
28:13Woo!
28:14Woo!
28:15Woo!
28:16Woo!
28:17Woo!
28:18Woo!
28:19Woo!
28:20Woo!
28:23Woo!
28:24Wow!
28:25This is gorgeous!
28:27Absolutely, beautiful!
28:30Wow, guys!
28:32Amazing!
28:33Starting with the snowflakes on the roof and how they're propped up, I love that!
28:39And they're even flying in the sky!
28:41And then you have!
28:42Is that a gingerbread school?
28:43Yes, it is.
28:44Yes, it is.
28:45And sure is.
28:46But you got penguins and reindeers.
28:49Yes, and these beautiful things growing out on the ground.
28:52They're scrolls, just like Santa with his scrolls.
28:55Every kid that comes here, their name is out there on a scroll.
28:59What a cute idea.
29:01It looks like there's thousands of them in your yard.
29:04And are those stockings and candles in the driveway?
29:07Three stockings, three candles.
29:09It makes it look the driveway a little bit better.
29:11And I can see Santa kissing Mrs. Claus.
29:13Maybe it's their anniversary, too.
29:15Who knows?
29:16Well, I can't wait.
29:17I'd love to get in there.
29:19You guys want to come?
29:19Yes!
29:20All right, come on!
29:21Come on!
29:34There's so many names, isn't there?
29:36Let's keep looking.
29:37What are we looking for?
29:38What lines?
29:39I'm going to look in the way.
29:41Let's find West.
29:43There she is.
29:44Right here.
29:45Oh!
29:46Hey!
29:47Well, Tanya, we have 2,295 names out in our yard.
29:53All you have to do is come in here and find your name.
29:56For example, let's see Tanya.
29:58There I am!
29:59So that means your name is out there somewhere on a scroll.
30:04Now, finding it is the tricky part.
30:05No, no, no, no.
30:06We'll get to that later.
30:07Okay.
30:08Now, if your name wasn't on the list, what happens?
30:10Take the notebook, put your name on there, put it in Santa's box.
30:14Well, look at this.
30:15Just to show you.
30:16Oh, wow!
30:17And it's really surprising.
30:19Every night, I'll have 10, 15, 20 names in here.
30:22We've been getting, on the average, about 200 to 300 names every year.
30:25That's amazing.
30:26There's 192 scrolls out here.
30:31What?
30:32Yeah.
30:33All these scrolls are handmade.
30:34Basically, we have a wood scroll.
30:36We can just pull it up.
30:37Oh, wait.
30:38So you have rebar in the ground.
30:40So what we do is I take PVC, three-quarter-inch pipe, a couple of C-clamps screwed in.
30:46The lights are all siliconed all the way around the stock.
30:49Incredible.
30:50And then what we do is drop the rebar in.
30:52Rebar is spaced every 13 inches around the yard.
30:56To be exact.
30:57To be exact.
30:58To be exact.
30:5912 inches is too close.
31:00And 13 is too far.
31:02Oh, that's so great.
31:03I found my name.
31:09There it is.
31:11W, three, F, and me, and me.
31:16Where?
31:17Where?
31:18No way.
31:19Yeah.
31:20These are so cool.
31:24They're flawless.
31:26They look like they just jumped out of a children's book.
31:29I noticed you did a similar set up here.
31:31So what do you have, the rebar in there and then the pipe?
31:34Actually, here, I got an easy one.
31:36Oh, it's like it's on a kickstand.
31:38On the back, we just basically have a couple pieces of PVC.
31:42Right.
31:43The best part about this, since this is rock, you don't see the basis of anything.
31:47You don't see it at all?
31:48Everything is buried.
31:49The rock is something special.
31:50This all used to be grass.
31:52About 12 years ago, we redesigned our whole yard.
31:56You can walk through our whole display now.
31:59Everything is rock.
32:01It can hide everything under the rock, all the wires, the poles.
32:05So it makes it look really clean.
32:07If you get a bird side view, it actually looks like a beautiful angel with wings.
32:11You changed your entire landscape specifically for your Christmas display.
32:16Yeah.
32:17Wow.
32:18It was a lot of work, but it's well worth it.
32:20Well, Tanya, we got a lot to see.
32:22Let's rock and roll.
32:23Let's go.
32:24I noticed this cute display from the streets.
32:31Santa and Mrs. Claus sneaking in a little smooch.
32:34I love that it's moving, so it actually does grab your attention when the lights go on.
32:38There's a motor in the back, and then it has little pins with a swivel so the arms go back and forth.
32:45That's actually been in the window for about 20 years now.
32:47It's so cute.
32:48It's a really adorable touch.
32:49I want to show you something I think is really special.
32:59There's 58 snowflakes up there, all LED.
33:0258?
33:0358.
33:04Up on top here, we have 32 little elves.
33:06I have a Spanish tile roof.
33:08Right.
33:09How are they?
33:10And everybody says, how do you get up there without breaking the tiles?
33:13Right.
33:14I came up with a great idea.
33:15The snowflake has a bracket on the back.
33:18It's just simple wood.
33:19There's a little three-inch spring clip.
33:21That doesn't break the tile when you let it go?
33:23No.
33:24Your attention to detail is through the roof.
33:27You like that one?
33:36Oh, that's my daughter, May.
33:38Right there.
33:42Natanya, you see all these names?
33:45I do.
33:46This started the madness.
33:47Our kids' names, our grandkids' names, the friends, the neighbors.
33:51When we had the grass, this was out here in grass.
33:54Right.
33:55One day, I have a first grade teacher who lives down the street.
33:58She brought her class down here with 20 kids.
34:01And one of the kids said, I can't find my name.
34:08I looked at her and I said, we got something here.
34:14So what I did, I had the first grade teacher give me their names.
34:18And next year, I had made scrolls.
34:21I put them out in the yard.
34:23And I said, the reaction.
34:24Oh.
34:25It broke my heart.
34:27I saw these kids jumping up and down so happy.
34:31Mom, my name, my name, my name.
34:332,295 names later and here we are.
34:37What I love about that story is that you heard it.
34:40Oh, yeah.
34:41You heard that kid and you heard and understood how important and what that would mean to them.
34:46And you listen.
34:47I feel a little bit like the little kid.
34:49Like, where's my name?
34:50I want to know where it is.
34:51You are very close.
34:53Ooh, this is the hot spot right here?
34:55You need to find out.
34:56I'm not going to tell you where.
34:57I'm going to look.
34:58Try to put your name.
34:59I'm going to look.
35:00You're a little cold.
35:01Cold, cold.
35:02I'll tell you what.
35:03Oh, you're getting warm.
35:04Ooh, am I getting warm?
35:05You're getting warm.
35:06Tulip.
35:07I'm looking for all the keys.
35:08Ooh, Taylor.
35:09Well, you see how it can take a long time to find your name?
35:12Yes.
35:13Where is it?
35:14Ah, ah, ah, ah.
35:15Oh!
35:16Yes!
35:18Yes!
35:19That is so fun.
35:21Look at my smile.
35:24The Copatz family display is designed for kids but loved by everyone.
35:30This display is full of heart and the most incredible DIY.
35:35Tanya, it's been an honor having you here.
35:38I hope you enjoyed yourself.
35:39I had a blast.
35:40I've never seen this done before on The Great Christmas Light Fight.
35:44It's so unique.
35:45You're making every kid feel so special.
35:48Those words mean a lot to me.
35:50If I can have a hug.
35:51You can have all the hugs you want.
35:53Come here, sweetie.
35:54I can think of 2,295 reasons why this was so heartwarming.
35:59But I've seen some amazing displays and they were all so different with artistry, technology, and creativity.
36:07But ultimately, only one family will make it to the top of the list.
36:11Bye.
36:12Merry Christmas.
36:13Wow.
36:14No matter what happens, bring some smiles to everybody.
36:17Yep.

36:26This competition was chock full of innovation and a whole lot of love for the holidays.
36:30The urban family from San Angelo, Texas created a down home country carnival.
36:55They had interactive games for kids to enjoy.
36:58Nice job.
36:59And the entire property was bristling with country Christmas charm from the rebar to the reindeer.
37:06This guy is 27 foot tall.
37:08And the centerpiece of their Texas-sized winter wonderland was a hand-built ferris wheel.
37:13You made every piece of this.
37:15Every piece.
37:16It's next level.
37:18Three, two, one.
37:23The Ludar family from Willoughby, Ohio created a holiday pixel paradise.
37:29Genius.
37:30Their luminous light show was a perfect blend of DIY construction and modern lighting technology
37:36that was bumping with energy.
37:38That's right.
37:39It has to go to the moon.
37:42This is gorgeous.
37:44The Copax family from Riverside, California made children's Christmas wishes come true
37:49with their names in lights.
37:52Everything was handmade and truly from the heart.
37:55Look at my smile.
37:59Santa, you got here just in the nick of time.
38:04And now I get to deliver my absolute favorite Christmas gift of them all.
38:11Okay.
38:12Hit it, Santa.
38:13Merry Christmas.
38:18Hi.
38:19Oh, my gosh.
38:20Give me a big hug.
38:21How are you guys?
38:22Super excited to see you.
38:23Oh, my God.
38:24Yeah.
38:25I'm excited to see you guys, too.
38:26Here, come on over this way.
38:27Hi.
38:28Hi.
38:29How are you?
38:30I can't believe you're here.
38:31Nice to see you.
38:32I cannot believe you're here.
38:33I'm here.
38:34Welcome back to Ohio.
38:37You know, I have to tell you, your display dazzled like billions of stars in the sky.
38:44And it had me just over the moon.
39:00And that's why you're the champions of the Christmas light bulb.
39:05And the $50,000 is yours.

39:26First of all, your display was massive.
39:30You actually designed and built everything.
39:34Amazing.
39:35I love the colors that you displayed.
39:38It was like a piece of art, truly.
39:41One of the things that I really, really loved was how you incorporated things from your childhood.
39:47So you had a little something for everybody.
39:49Thank you so very much.
39:51He has worked so hard over the last couple of years.
39:54It definitely teaches you a thing or two about work ethic.
39:57And I'm just so proud of him.

40:01And it's nice to get to see him have this for him, you know?
40:06My job as a dad is to teach them to work hard and just dream big.
40:11You fail every time you don't try.
40:13And, you know, to have them here, to have all this, we're blessed.
40:18I know without a shadow of the doubt that your stepdad, George, is so proud of you.
40:25Oh!
40:27I do have one thing that I actually haven't given you yet.
