00:00Previously on Holiday Baking Championship,
00:02it was a pie showdown.
00:04I would take Team Naughty down by the flavors.
00:07He's talking smack over there.
00:08Ooh.
00:09In a wild twist, each team had to put up
00:11only their two best pies for judging.
00:13I think it's pretty unanimous at this point.
00:15Yeah.
00:16Tariq and Charles.
00:17Chase and Giancarlos, that's my vote.
00:20Oh.
00:21I'm still going to finish.
00:22Tariq, you nailed it.
00:24The Naughty team took the win.
00:27Aaron, I don't know what the nice team's
00:28going to do without their alpha mom.
00:30They're going to get Naughty.
00:39All right.
00:40I'm liking your hat.
00:42Oh.
00:44This is so cute.
00:45Oh, my god.
00:47That's so cool.
00:48Wow.
00:49That's magical.
00:51Oh, hey, Team Nice.
00:52Hey, Team Naughty.
00:55You know, I love building a snowman this time of year.
00:57And up in Canada, where I grew up, man, building and decorating a snowman, that was the perfect
01:02snow day activity.
01:03So the challenge today is to make a dessert that represents a fun snow day activity.
01:08Okay.
01:09And each of you will be assigned activities like building a snowman, sledding, or indoor fun,
01:15like playing board games or having an indoor picnic.
01:18Okay.
01:19Wow.
01:20Okay.
01:21All right.
01:22Now, this is the only bake today.
01:23Best dessert wins immunity from elimination for their entire team.
01:26And of course, the losing team will lose a baker.
01:29Team Naughty, about your advantage because you won the last challenge.
01:35This year, you never know what's coming next.
01:38You have two choices.
01:41The nice advantage is actually really helpful.
01:44You can give yourself a 15-minute head start in this challenge.
01:47Okay.
01:48Okay.
01:49That's pretty nice.
01:50That's a lot of time.
01:51Yeah.
01:52It's really naughty.
01:53Ugh.
01:54You can take a baker from the other team.
02:01Oh.
02:02Are you serious?
02:07And that baker you take is going to stay on your team.
02:13Oh, no.
02:15We're nice.
02:16We don't belong.
02:17Come on.
02:18All right.
02:19This is a big decision.
02:20Go ahead.
02:21Talk it over.
02:22Wait.
02:23Hold on.
02:24Let's think about it for a second.
02:25The twists, the turns is that it's crazy this season.
02:28We would have a two-person advantage on them, and that just gives us two more chances to
02:33beat them.
02:34I would sabotage dessert.
02:35I can't even make a pie, so like.
02:371, 2, 3.
02:38Naughty.
02:39All right, so Naughty team, what's it going to be?
02:41We're going to take Alex onto our team.
02:44Oh.
02:45Wow.
02:46I'm like, that's, wow.
02:50You decided to take Alex and draft her onto team Naughty.
02:54You don't want me.
02:55I'm so mean.
02:56I have a temper.
02:58I know she's, that's why you belong.
02:59That's why you.
03:00Oh, no.
03:01She's been one of the top ones this competition.
03:04More than anything, it's just a compliment to you.
03:07We just think you're really good.
03:08We think highly of you.
03:10Yeah.
03:11I feel very, very complimented.
03:14I feel really honored.
03:15Here you go, Alex.
03:17And they are very nice people.
03:19I don't want to go over there.
03:22You are officially now baking with Team Naughty.
03:25Alex has a little naughtiness inside her, so I think she's a good fit.
03:28And the stronger players we have on our team, the better chance we as a whole team can go further.
03:34I don't even know where to stand.
03:36We're gonna, we're gonna bring it home.
03:37It's gonna be even sweeter when we win.
03:39Okay, bakers, you're making snow day desserts.
03:42Oh, it's our town delivery guy.
03:43What?
03:44Oh.
03:45Oh.
03:46Oh.
03:47Oh.
03:48What's going on?
03:49Oh, my goodness.
03:50Oh, no.
03:51Oh.
03:52It's like Christmas catamines.
03:55Can't just put it down on the floor?
03:58Thanks, delivery guy.
03:59At least you took a picture, you know?
04:01He's not getting a good tab.
04:02Okay.
04:03When time starts, grab a package to discover your snow day theme.
04:07There are two and a half hours on the clock, and your baking time starts.
04:12Now.
04:13Can't go fast.
04:14What it is.
04:15What it is.
04:16What it is.
04:17This is Christmas morning.
04:18I got indoor picnic.
04:19Sledding.
04:20Building a snowman.
04:21Snowshoeing.
04:22Cutting out snowflakes.
04:23I got playing board games.
04:24Building an indoor fort.
04:25Ooh, okay.
04:26All right.
04:27I'll like go there.
04:28Not that bad boy in the middle.
04:29Nice.
04:30Only three feet in the middle.
04:31Nice.
04:32Yes.
04:33Only three feet in the middle.
04:34All right.
04:35All right.
04:36All right.
04:37All right.
04:38All right.
04:39All right.
04:40All right.
04:41Nice.
04:42Only three people and I.
04:43What are we going to do?
04:44Well, we got to come out strong.
04:45All right, guys.
04:46Well, welcome to Team Naughty, Alex.
04:48It's a little more fun, you know?
04:49That looks good on you.
04:50It's a warm welcome.
04:51I look good in everything.
04:53This is an elimination challenge, and we need to beat Team Naughty.
04:57We've lost two in a row, and now they're taking Alex, one of our strongest players from
05:03our team.
05:04It's a team competition, but it's still individual.
05:07At the end of the day, only one person can be the winner of this entire competition.
05:12I am betting on myself.
05:13I know what I'm capable of.
05:15I'm going to bring my A game.
05:16Three, two, nine.
05:17Naughty.
05:18All right.
05:19Let's go.
05:20All right.
05:21Let's have some fun.
05:23Get that mise en place going.
05:25Okay.
05:26Glad, glad.
05:27Oh, no.
05:28Oh, no.
05:29Did you see that?
05:32Good.
05:33Okay.
05:34No one saw that.
05:35Wait, Chase, what are you making?
05:36Don't let them change you.
05:38I won't.
05:39Oh, we're already changing her.
05:41I'm making brownies.
05:42What are you making?
05:43What are you making?
05:44Brownies.
05:45I'm making a brownie.
05:46Oh, fight.
05:47Are you serious?
05:48Fight.
05:49Shut up.
05:50You can separate us, but you'll never separate our hearts.
05:53Oh, my God.
05:54Too much.
05:56We're basically using the exact same ingredients today.
05:59What kind of brownies are you making?
06:00I'm doing a...
06:01Better not be peanut butter s'more.
06:02Are you doing peanut butter s'more?
06:03Yeah.
06:04I'm doing a caramel crunch.
06:05Oh.
06:06Yes.
06:07Battle of the brownies.
06:08Yes.
06:09May the naughtiest brownie win.
06:10Yeah, seriously.
06:12I know this brownie is crazy good.
06:14You whip the eggs, and that aerates the dough.
06:17No leavener.
06:18No baking soda.
06:19No baking powder.
06:21Relying on the air that you incorporate into the eggs
06:23for its texture.
06:24And that's all you really need to give a nice souffle texture.
06:29It's going to have a graham cracker cookie base.
06:33It's going to swirl in a layer of homemade peanut butter,
06:36and then it's going to have some marshmallowy meringue on top.
06:39Salty, sweet.
06:40It's a childhood dream.
06:41What do we need for a picnic?
06:42We need a blanket at the base.
06:44It's going to have a trio of gingerbread men surrounding the food.
06:48Swiss rolls, cupcakes, cookies, all these sweet things for these sweet little cookies to be eating.
06:54I can't possibly think of a better way to spend a snow day.
06:57I used to have two block lines around my bakery for these brownies, so...
07:03This is super weird.
07:05I want to go home.
07:07It's not home hopefully.
07:08Was your home over there?
07:09It was over there.
07:10The home was over there in the nice team, and they stole you.
07:12Say nice things.
07:13I only say nice things, so...
07:15How does it feel to be over here?
07:16She's evil.
07:17It's...
07:18Wow.
07:19You've really been...
07:20You've been accepted, I can see.
07:21I think that I've made an impression.
07:22I think so, too.
07:23I'm incredibly flattered.
07:25It's taking some adjustment, but I'm rolling with it.
07:28Yeah.
07:29What snow day theme did you get?
07:31I am building an indoor fort.
07:33Oh, nice.
07:34So I'm doing a brownie base with a crunchy caramel, a bunch of different ganaches,
07:39and then I'm going to have a scene of little gingerbread folks with a nice little blanket
07:46board over top and a couch, and they're going to be using a spirit board to summon the spirit
07:51of Christmas.
07:52No way.
07:53And, you know, Santa and Satan are anagrams, so I'm going to kind of be like they summoned
07:58the wrong S figure.
08:01Oh, my goodness.
08:04You even have a naughty laugh.
08:06I am.
08:07Did you just hear that?
08:08That was incredible.
08:09It's, like, all coming out now.
08:11I feel like you've been released.
08:12I think it's fun to play around with some naughtier themes, you know?
08:17So I'm feeling a little bit better about it.
08:19All in the oven.
08:20Look at home, Miss Feeney.
08:21Oh, yes.
08:22We're not wasting any time today.
08:24All right, bakers.
08:25You got two hours left.
08:27For real?
08:28Oh, man.
08:29How has 30 minutes gone by?
08:31And make sure your snow day desserts read either naughty or nice.
08:34I've been the top two for so many challenges.
08:37I need that win.
08:38I'm a little sick of being the bridesmaid, ready to be the bride.
08:41I know the end game is the win at the end, but I really would like to get a win before
08:46that at some point.
08:47So I got cutting out snowflakes.
08:50We're going to start on vanilla cremeux.
08:53All that vanilla bean is what we're going for.
08:56I am inspired by just the pure white of snow for the snowflakes, and I'm just doing a vanilla bean entremet.
09:02Vanilla is sometimes a kind of negative term.
09:06Like, it's bland.
09:07It's boring.
09:08It's vanilla.
09:09But that's so wrong.
09:11Vanilla, it can be a really strong powerhouse flavor on its own when it's done right.
09:17I'm going to do a few different textures of snowflakes.
09:20I'll do some with gum paste, some that are hand cut out of wafer paper.
09:23And then my naughty twist is going to be a little depiction of little Charlie running with scissors,
09:29so excited to make these snowflakes.
09:31This is my vanilla white chocolate mousse.
09:34It's always a nerve-wracking thing because the whole dessert is based on if it sets up or not.
09:37So, we'll see.
09:39Being a chef around the holidays really pulls you away from your family and your life
09:43because there's more events, more parties.
09:46If I were to win that $25,000, I want to just give back to my family
09:50and take them on a trip to make up for all the holidays we weren't able to spend together
09:55and make some new memories.
09:57Okay, sweet.
09:58Kamri, how we doing over there?
10:00Good.
10:01No, it's just, you know, the three of us rocking and rolling over here on the nice team
10:05and, you know, we're still feeling confident.
10:08The fire never goes out.
10:10Every challenge is fresh, every challenge is new,
10:12and that's just a new opportunity to knock the socks off the judges.
10:16So, I got building a snowman, which is very fun and very cute.
10:19Perfection.
10:20So, I'm making a spice cake and a little bit of raspberry ginger compote
10:26and a maple ginger mousseline.
10:30So, the judges have been really telling me to focus on presentation.
10:34Flavors, I think, are good.
10:36Presentation, I really want to bump it up.
10:38I love to decorate in more of an abstract way.
10:42I feel like I don't really make stories very often with my decorating,
10:46so that's going to be, like, the challenge.
10:48So, the goal today is to do a fun little scene in which there's, like, light poles in the background,
10:56and then a snowman in the center that's, like, half being built because it's building a snowman.
11:03Maple ginger.
11:04Oh!
11:05I love it.
11:06I love the maple.
11:07The last main hee I won for my team, which was awesome.
11:11It was really nice that my team was safe and it was because of me.
11:14Being the youngest baker and winning helps to prove myself to a lot of the other bakers
11:19in terms of what I can do only at the age of 19.
11:22So, hopefully, I keep up the good mojo.
11:24So, I got snowshoeing.
11:26I'm making a rum raisin carrot cake.
11:29Rum raisin is definitely a flavor combo that my family goes crazy for during the holidays.
11:33And I decided to go with, like, thinking back to my holidays in the Middle East
11:39just because my only experience snowshoeing was in the desert while I lived in Saudi Arabia.
11:44My dad, he's from the Middle East.
11:46So, I moved to Riyadh when I was 9 and then I left when I was 11.
11:51It does not snow there ever.
11:53And I figured that because that was an important part of my life, I could definitely make snowshoeing into a sandy day activity.
12:02That's the naughty part.
12:03There is no snow.
12:05I'm going to decorate it to, like, look like a nice desert.
12:07So, it's going to have, like, palm trees and I'm going to have, like, a camel and some, like, gingerbread people.
12:11And I'm going to have the gingerbread people and the camel snowshoeing on, like, the desert sand.
12:15Just making it all, like, very cutesy, but also still trying to be pretty naughty.
12:19All right, go in the oven.
12:20Bakers, you got 90 minutes left.
12:22Team nice.
12:23How does it feel being down one baker?
12:28Well, the silence says a lot.
12:34I didn't add lebonine into my cake batter.
12:36Oops.
12:38I put my cake in the oven and then I realized I didn't add the baking soda.
12:42Oh, that's hot, hot, ow, ow, ow, ow.
12:44I don't have time to remake my batter.
12:46This is bad.
12:47Without the baking soda, it's going to be a dense mess.
12:53Okay, bakers, you are creating Snow Day desserts.
12:56The winning dessert is going to keep their entire team safe from elimination.
13:01It'll be fine, it'll be fine, it'll be fine.
13:03I realized I forgot the baking soda for my cakes.
13:06So, thank God I caught it soon enough or else it, like, would have been a hot mess.
13:12But it's still liquid, so I think it should be okay.
13:14I'm just hoping that I can get it mixed in enough where the cake is still going to rise properly.
13:20Just hope this works.
13:22Jean-Carlos, how we doing?
13:23What Snow Day theme did you get?
13:25So, I get coloring.
13:27I'm making today a hesitant intramé.
13:30What I want to picture on this dessert today is about my future.
13:33Okay.
13:34How I want to have my own family with my husband.
13:37Wow.
13:38If I have a chance to win this competition, I will start the process for adoption.
13:42For the decoration, I'm going to make a little boy coloring on the floor, crayons, drawings, and Christmas tree
13:50front of the fireplace during the holidays.
13:53Good luck.
13:54Jean, how are you doing, babe?
13:56I'm making my inserts for my intramé with a chocolate sponge and hazelnut cremeux.
14:03This time, I want to show a different technique for the judges.
14:07When I cut my intramé, I'm not going to have a regular layer.
14:12I will have a different surprise for the judges.
14:15Now, my intramé just needs to set.
14:19Let's go.
14:22Thank you, Michael.
14:23Just leave me one.
14:24Oh, I'm just taking one.
14:25Okay.
14:26Actually, wait.
14:27Can I take two?
14:28Just give me one.
14:29Oh, well.
14:30You take the rest.
14:32Love you.
14:33Bye.
14:34Thanks.
14:35Love you, Mina.
14:36Our team dynamic is really finally pulling itself together, and I just love it.
14:37Alex, will you taste this for me?
14:38Yeah.
14:39Now, with Alex, we're constantly taste testing everything.
14:41We are communicating properly.
14:43Ooh.
14:44Do I need to hit it with any citrus or anything?
14:45A little salt.
14:46I would say a touch of salt, but that's lovely.
14:48Right.
14:49That is cherry.
14:50As a team that started off pretty much struggling, I feel like we're the stronger team now.
14:55So my theme today is playing board games.
14:59I am going to decorate like a very popular board game, but today I'm not sorry because,
15:05you know, it's a little bit naughtier.
15:07My boyfriend, John, and I become two different people when we play board games, and I think
15:12everybody does.
15:13I think everybody has a little bit of naughty on their shoulder that's like, I'm going to
15:16win.
15:17I'm going to do anything to do it.
15:18Putting in some extra brandy for Miss Nancy today.
15:21Oh, yes.
15:22So I'm doing a cherry almond pie bar.
15:26To decorate, I am going to create a sugar cookie game board with gumdrops and holiday
15:33game pieces.
15:34I'm going to go get that into the oven right now.
15:37There we go.
15:38Sleep well, baby.
15:39All right, bakers, you got 60 minutes left.
15:42I hope no one else is using honey today because I'm using it all.
15:45I'm going to be making baklava today.
15:47Baklava is a very traditional Middle Eastern dessert, but my baklava today, I'll be taking
15:53that classic and adding some holiday spices to it.
15:57So my baklava will consist of layers of phyllo.
16:01I'll be brushing with butter, a spiced pistachio and walnut mix, and we'll be doused with a holiday
16:08spiced honey syrup.
16:10We're turning up baklava a little Christmassy.
16:12Nico, what snow day event did you get?
16:14So I got sledding.
16:16Sledding?
16:17Very cute.
16:18Well, it's not going to be cute for long.
16:20Uh-oh, there's a naughty component, obviously, with you.
16:22Always.
16:23So they're actually going to be sledding down a volcano.
16:28Because I was thinking to myself, right, what's the naughtiest type of sledding you can do?
16:33Bro.
16:34Nico, like, you're mine.
16:36I'm going to be constructing a volcano out of a homemade pistachio and tahini rice cereal treat.
16:42It's going to be sitting atop a baklava.
16:44Oh, dude, that's amazing.
16:46And then I'm going to have some raspberry rose lava coming down.
16:49Oh, I was just going to ask.
16:50Like, it's one thing if the kids are, like, tobogganing down and the volcano's not actually erupting.
16:55Oh, yeah, of course it's going to erupt.
16:57Who do you think I am?
16:58Dude.
16:59So I'm going to decorate with isomalt flames erupting from the volcano.
17:04Sleds out of speculose cookies, candy canes, and then I'm going to have little modeling chocolate boys and girls sledding down the volcano.
17:11Perfect.
17:12Let's go.
17:13Chase, you doing good?
17:15Yeah.
17:16Good.
17:17Getting started on my fondant decor.
17:19Starting first with a blanket.
17:21Work it, work it, work it, work it.
17:23I am making little baby desserts to go on to my indoor picnic.
17:28Like a little mini cake.
17:30I've never, literally never worked with fondant.
17:34Oh, look at this little tiny cake.
17:36Oh, my God.
17:37Look at my little Swiss roll.
17:39It's cute, right?
17:40I hope the judges like them.
17:42She's gorgeous.
17:43I'm adding a chewy caramel to the top of my brownie and it will kind of cut through that richness of all of the different chocolates.
17:51That looks good.
17:52Time to decorate.
17:55I grab my entremet.
17:57I need to get it out of the mold to glaze it.
18:01Oh, my God.
18:04My mousse is not set.
18:06This can't be happening.
18:12Ay-yi-yi.
18:14Mousse is just a little soft, but if I don't get it out now, I won't have a glaze.
18:21So we are, you know, kind of improvising.
18:24There's a few edge chunks that have kind of stuck to the mold.
18:28So I carefully, using a warm offset spatula, I kind of smooth out those cracks.
18:32Okay.
18:33Can't really tell.
18:34Relatively.
18:35It's definitely killing me a little bit inside, because I want to impress the judges.
18:40I want to put up a really nice, clean dessert.
18:43And if there's a lot of bumps and lumps on this entremet, it's really going to show through my glaze.
18:49But we'll see.
18:52All right, bakers.
18:5330 minutes left.
18:54Wow.
18:55Snow day desserts.
18:57Remember, one of your desserts is going to win your team immunity.
19:01How are you feeling, babe?
19:02We're doing good.
19:03Chase, you want a taste of my cake?
19:05I need your opinion.
19:06I'm going to add a soak.
19:08Yeah.
19:09Soak.
19:10Perfect.
19:11So growing up in Michigan, we got a lot of snow.
19:14When we heard we had a snow day, we just rejoiced, because it was like, oh, I can watch cartoons
19:20all day, and then go outside if I want, trying to build snowmen and igloos.
19:26Snow days were the best days.
19:29Looks great.
19:30Smells so good.
19:32My cakes look good, which means that it's all okay.
19:35I didn't add my baking soda too late.
19:37Crisis averted.
19:41I do kind of like a ribbon design around the sides.
19:43And then on the top, I sprinkle a lot of graham cracker crumbs to look like the desert sand.
19:50I get my dessert out of the blast chiller, and I'm going to cover with my mirror glaze.
19:55Yes, this is the green I'm looking for.
19:59Representing nice, team green.
20:02Team green.
20:03Green for money.
20:06So right now I'm making my coloring sticks.
20:08I'm melting different colors of chocolate, and I'm filling up straws.
20:16For making the drawings, I'm using wafer paper, cutting in small pieces.
20:21Very realistic.
20:24All right.
20:25Let's get this party started.
20:27I'm making my game board.
20:29I'm going to do it all on a sugar cookie with royal icing.
20:32Nancy likes her Christmas colors, so.
20:36Coming into this competition from day one, I don't know that I did believe in myself enough,
20:40but today, this is a challenge that's really heavily focused on the decorating aspect,
20:46and I really want to just crush it.
20:48If we're going to go big, we better go home.
20:50Or go big or go home.
20:51That's what I meant.
20:53Not go home.
20:55Look at our beautiful baby.
20:57And now, the most important step, straight out the oven.
21:02So you make the syrup first, and then you have a cold syrup.
21:05And then when you pour it onto the hot baklava, that's how it really takes in that flavor,
21:09really infuses into those nuts.
21:11And that's when you really get that ooey, gooey, scrumptious, umptious kind of baklava
21:14that's actually what you're looking for.
21:15And now it's time to start working on the volcano.
21:19I grew up in Chicago, and I have a lot of really great memories of going out, playing in the snow.
21:24But that said, because we had so much snow all the time,
21:27a lot of my favorite holiday season memories was escaping from the snow
21:32and going somewhere a little beachier, a little more tropical.
21:35And that's probably the reason I wanted to do a volcano.
21:37It's kind of that escape from the snow.
21:40Perfect.
21:42Ten minutes left, bakers.
21:43Oh my gosh.
21:44This is a time for details, everyone.
21:46Look at this Swiss roll.
21:47Come on.
21:49Now I need to set the scene for my cozy indoor picnic.
21:52Got lots of cute little cakes.
21:55I'm so impressed with my own fondant work, and I think the judges will be really impressed
21:59by the small details that I have put into my decoration.
22:03Chase, I'm sorry if my brownies are just the tiniest bit better.
22:07They won't be.
22:08The judges will let us know.
22:11I'm making my couch out of rice cereal treats.
22:13You can't have a pillow fort without some sort of structure, and the couch is usually the structure.
22:19Then I place my gingerbread people, and then I place the spirit board right in between them.
22:25I've gone from, like, think nice, think, like, classic holidays, think about holiday memories, and now I'm just like metal, you know?
22:33I hope that reads blanket.
22:37Okay, this is going to look good.
22:38This is going to work.
22:39This is going to work.
22:40For the snowshoes, I take some pretzels that I broke in half, and so I attach it to the base of the gingerbread camel and the gingerbread person, and now it looks like they're snowshoeing together through the desert.
22:53That's cute.
22:54How we doing, nice team?
22:56We got this.
22:57This will be a little kid coloring.
23:01I place my drawings, and I place my crayons all over my dessert.
23:06Finally, I add my Christmas tree.
23:08My tree is a little bit crooked, but I think I will be safe.
23:14Five minutes left.
23:16All right.
23:17Moment of truth.
23:20Boom.
23:21Ashley.
23:22Yes.
23:23How's the game board look?
23:24Great.
23:25Very colorful.
23:26Sorry, not sorry.
23:28Ha!
23:29Boom, boom.
23:30Lobshit.
23:32What are you doing?
23:33What are you making?
23:34Making little slugs.
23:35Oh, huge.
23:37Ha!
23:38Dope.
23:40I wanted to just have really clear flavor and a very clear story, and I think the boy running with scissors is very obvious.
23:49In my design, I want to have some wafer paper cut-out snowflakes, and I think the duality of the child-like paper ones and the kind of pristine gum paste cut-out ones will really add a nice, elegant design to my entourage.
24:03Two minutes.
24:04Behind.
24:05One baker's dessert is going to keep their team entirely safe from elimination.
24:10I will not lose this.
24:11Do you need something?
24:13Um, no, I'm just going to start to make my snowman.
24:16I want there to be little snow bags.
24:18Oh, thanks.
24:21I'm a little worried about Kamri.
24:22I just don't know.
24:23Her cake does not look decorated right now.
24:25Two of my trees.
24:28I'm going to use, uh, portion scoops to make my snowman.
24:31One minute left.
24:32Anyone have spare bonnet?
24:34That's out.
24:35Red, whatever.
24:36Which one?
24:37Red, black bonnet.
24:38Mm, red.
24:39Okay, great.
24:40We gotta go.
24:41We're getting the scarf for my snowman.
24:45Decorations have to be on point.
24:48There we go.
24:50Ooh, Santa.
24:51My goodness.
24:53I almost forgot the spirit of Christmas.
24:55Ten seconds left.
25:00That's it.
25:01That's all she wrote.
25:03All right.
25:05All right, stop.
25:07Woo!
25:09Team Nice, you're going to be up first and judging.
25:12All right.
25:13I'm a little stressed.
25:14I'm not going to lie.
25:17So how are you guys feeling about Team Naughty today?
25:20They have five people now.
25:22What's going on?
25:23Yeah.
25:24They have five chances.
25:25We have three.
25:26Yeah.
25:27We really need a win today.
25:28I'm confident in us.
25:30Yeah.
25:31All right, Chase.
25:32Come on in.
25:33Oh, Chase.
25:34You're trying to shine.
25:36I do feel pressure.
25:37It's absolutely crucial that we don't lose anybody else from our team, so I think we have a real battle on our hands.
25:45Hello.
25:46Hi, Chase.
25:47All right.
25:48Snow Day themed desserts.
25:49Tell us, Chase.
25:50What did you make?
25:51I had an indoor picnic, so I did a ton of fondant work, which is my first time.
25:56I am very impressed, Chase, with that fondant work.
26:01I definitely got indoor picnics immediately.
26:04The way that you made your Swiss roll, it is really, really clean.
26:09I immediately knew those were Linzer cookies.
26:11It looks really delicious.
26:12This is amazing.
26:13Screams, Team Nice.
26:15Great job.
26:17Let's cut it up, Chase.
26:20Oh, my goodness.
26:21Are you kidding me?
26:22So, tell us what you made.
26:24I made a peanut butter s'more brownie.
26:28It's got a cookie crust base and a pillowy, fluffy meringue.
26:33They're going to love it.
26:34Yes.
26:35It looks so good.
26:38Cartier, you made a face when you took a bite.
26:43Seriously, Chase, this is amazing.
26:45It's satisfying.
26:46It's gooey.
26:47It's light.
26:48It's airy.
26:49It's like everything in one.
26:50Oh, wow.
26:51But it's weird because a lot of times, you get a gooey brownie, it's just because it's underbaked.
26:56This is something else.
26:57It's like a cheesecake.
26:58You know?
26:59It's so beautiful.
27:01Nice job.
27:02I appreciate you all.
27:04Really spectacular.
27:05I feel a huge sigh of relief.
27:08Everything seemed to be pretty well on point.
27:11I think we can clinch this, guys.
27:12I hope so, yeah.
27:13Absolutely.
27:14Giancarlos, good to see you again.
27:16My snow day theme was coloring.
27:19This dessert is something I picture on my future.
27:23I want to build a family with my husband.
27:26And this is how I saw my little boy in indoor snow day.
27:33It's reading nice, but I think it just needs to be a little neater.
27:42I think it looks good.
27:44I don't agree.
27:46Duff.
27:47Oh, there it goes.
27:48Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no.
27:50No!
27:51Ah!
27:56Listen, Giancarlos, I think that it's a wrong dessert to decorate this much, okay?
28:01You've got a Christmas tree on there.
28:03It's falling over, right?
28:04So the entremé cannot hold that kind of weight.
28:07Things are melting.
28:08You've got to clean that up.
28:09I would have picked a different dessert.
28:10That makes sense.
28:11And now I need the judges like my flavors.
28:15Ooh.
28:16Ooh.
28:17Ooh.
28:18My dessert is hazelnut praline mousse, a chocolate sponge, and a praline creme mousse.
28:28You know, the textures on this are really nice.
28:30You know, your mousse is beautiful and light and airy and not super heavy, which is great.
28:36Problem is, you kind of piled up all those hazelnuts on top of each other.
28:40All I'm getting is hazelnut.
28:43Nance.
28:44I loved it.
28:45I loved every one of those hazelnuts.
28:50Come on.
28:51Giancarlos, thank you.
28:52Thank you, guys, so much.
28:53Thank you, Giancarlos.
28:54Muito obrigado.
28:55Bye-bye.
28:56Today, for me, was like, I'm trouble.
29:00Hello, Kamri.
29:01What was your snow day activity?
29:03Building a snowman.
29:04You know, the kids, they were having a blast outside building their snowman.
29:08And kids, come on, it's time for lunch.
29:11So they come in for some hot cocoa.
29:13They, unfortunately, leave the snowman for building later.
29:17Duff, you took the glasses off.
29:18Yeah.
29:19Yeah.
29:20You know, I did, like, when I first saw it, I was like, oh, he's missing an eye.
29:23I didn't know if it might have been a pirate.
29:25Yeah.
29:26Snowman.
29:27No.
29:28I feel, like, without your story, I wasn't really sure what was going on.
29:32Okay.
29:33And you got some people in here that can really decorate.
29:37This is, this is okay.
29:39I know you have it in you.
29:41Like, I need you to lock in on that.
29:42Yes.
29:43Yes, ma'am.
29:44Do you feel like the judges are getting more?
29:46I do.
29:47Getting more tough with the critiques.
29:51So it is a spice cake with a maple mousseline and then a raspberry ginger jelly on the top.
29:59Maple?
30:00Yeah.
30:01No maple.
30:02Okay.
30:03I get ginger.
30:04I get raspberry.
30:05I get those flavors.
30:07I think the cake itself is a little dry.
30:10Ooh.
30:11It's just, it's a little chewy.
30:14Too chewy for a cake.
30:15Yeah.
30:16Okay, Kamri, thank you.
30:18You know, I don't really know how to feel other than, like, dang.
30:22Well.
30:23Come here.
30:24Come here.
30:25I'm really hoping that some miracle happens.
30:29Anything can happen.
30:30I don't think we can.
30:31We can, we can, we can see the clip, but we don't got to jump off it, you know?
30:35Yeah.
30:36All we need is one of us to win.
30:37I think we could take this still.
30:39Yeah.
30:40Yeah.
30:45There's so many of us now.
30:46I know.
30:47Judges, Snow Day desserts from the Naughty team.
30:50Alex.
30:51Hey, good luck, girl.
30:53Your premiere.
30:54Nervous to go up for judging, because this is my first judging with Team Naughty.
30:58So it'll be interesting to see how I stack up.
31:03What?
31:04What is, what is going on?
31:06Traitor.
31:07No, I was taken in the night.
31:09Benedict Arnold.
31:10I was taken.
31:12They kidnapped you.
31:13They took me from my home and they put me over there.
31:17Oh.
31:18Look how much happier you are.
31:19You love it over there.
31:21So my theme was building a fort, an indoor fort.
31:28But to make it Naughty, I have a spirit board.
31:32So our little gingerbread folks in here have seemed to have someone.
31:36Doesn't quite look like Santa, but if you rearrange the letters in Santa, it spells something else.
31:41It's Satan.
31:42Yeah.
31:43I love your fort.
31:46I love your blanket.
31:48It has so much movement.
31:50It's fun.
31:51Technically, the fondant, you know, could be cleaned up a little bit.
31:55Absolutely.
31:56But it is very naughty.
31:58Very, very naughty.
32:00Oh.
32:02Okay.
32:03Uh-oh.
32:04We've got a brownie off.
32:06So I made a triple chocolate caramel crunch brownie.
32:11I feel good about this one.
32:14It looks so good.
32:16Delicious brownie.
32:19I love the caramel.
32:21There's too much.
32:22It's really thick.
32:23That chocolate flavor was so rich and so much depth.
32:29My piece is very under because it's just, it's still batter.
32:33Oh, I'm so sorry.
32:35Uh-oh.
32:36Yeah.
32:37I don't know if I got a centerpiece or...
32:39Yeah, I came a little bit closer on the inside for it.
32:42So the batter is raw.
32:44It just didn't bake evenly.
32:46Right.
32:47All right, Alex.
32:49Thanks, Alex.
32:50Thank you, Alex.
32:52Sucks.
32:53Really sucks.
32:55Niko, welcome.
32:56My snow day activity was sledding.
32:59You know, other families have apple pie, pumpkin pie, yule logs.
33:04For my family, baktava is our quintessential holiday dessert.
33:08Okay.
33:09Uh, elephant in the room.
33:11Why is there a volcano?
33:13It's...
33:14Because it's naughty sledding.
33:15I was like, what's the naughtiest kind of sledding you could do?
33:17Sledding down erupting lava.
33:23Niko, I just want to get like a lawn chair and park it in your brain.
33:27And just kind of...
33:28It's a scary place up there.
33:29I don't know if you want that.
33:30No, you don't.
33:34I do, because it's just pure entertainment.
33:37Is judging always this funny with you guys?
33:39Oh, 100%.
33:40It is so good.
33:41The naughty theme is so good.
33:42The naughty theme is just the best.
33:43So funny.
33:44Niko, I love it because it's so unique.
33:46And it's truly naughty.
33:48I mean, with all that fire and great color.
33:51And I get sledding.
33:53So, I made a spiced baklava and a pistachio and tahini rice cereal treat volcano with a raspberry and rose lava.
34:07For me, I think there should be a little bit more of your soaking syrup.
34:11I like my baklava a little sticky.
34:14I think the flavor's great.
34:15I love that big punch of cinnamon.
34:17It's just falling apart a little bit.
34:19You're a cereal treat.
34:20You made these cereal treats.
34:21Yes, I did.
34:22It's really good.
34:23Thank you, Niko.
34:26All right, say hi to Ashley.
34:28I'm about to face the judges.
34:29And I think for the first time, I feel pretty dang confident in this competition.
34:34So, I had playing board games.
34:36So, I made not sorry for you because I'm never sorry when I win.
34:44I like your style, girl.
34:47You know what I like about this?
34:48It looks like the whole family got involved.
34:50You know what I mean?
34:51And like, that's what you do when you're playing board games.
34:52It screams, naughty board game.
34:55Not sorry.
34:56You definitely nailed the theme of board games.
35:00Oh, my goodness.
35:01Whoa.
35:02Jeez.
35:03I made a cherry almond bar with cream cheese frosting and a almond sugar cookie.
35:13Ashley, your cherry filling is a ton of almond extract.
35:19Almost to the point where it becomes like a chemical taste to it.
35:23Ooh.
35:24Okay.
35:25I think the brandy is one of the things that's enhancing the almond extract.
35:30Okay.
35:31Like, it's just not a bar to me.
35:34Like, a bar, they're definitely a little more moist.
35:38Like, this is really like a delicious pound cake.
35:41I don't care what you call it.
35:43It's delicious.
35:44Yeah.
35:45Yeah.
35:46Tell them.
35:48Thanks, Ashley.
35:49Thank you, Ashley.
35:50You know, it kind of tastes like cough syrup.
35:53I do love almonds, so I did like it, but it's not a bar.
35:57You like the brandy.
35:58Well, that too.
36:02Tarek, welcome.
36:03All right.
36:04Tell us what you made.
36:05So, my snow day activity was snowshoeing.
36:08But, the only experience I've ever had with snowshoeing was when I lived in Saudi Arabia
36:13in the middle of, like, Riyadh in a desert.
36:16So, it's like a holiday in the Middle East.
36:18I was kind of leaning naughty with, like, the gingerbread man, like, making his camel snowshoe with him,
36:22because, you know, camels don't snowshoe.
36:24Doesn't, for me, read snowshoeing right off the bat, but I love that personal touch with adding,
36:31this is what snowshoeing looks like for you, and when you did it, I get it now that you've explained it.
36:36I know.
36:37Let's give it a try, Tarek.
36:39Ooh.
36:40Oh, it's a two tier.
36:42So, this is a carrot cake with rum raisin and a cream cheese frosting.
36:49Tarek, this is fabulous.
36:52Fabulous.
36:53This is so tasty.
36:54Okay.
36:55It's so moist.
36:57The raisins are perfect.
37:00Hint of rum, not too much.
37:02Yeah, it's a good cake.
37:03Your cream cheese frosting is delicious.
37:05I think the sand on top is actually a really nice touch.
37:08You know, adds a little crunch.
37:10All right, Tarek.
37:13Thank you, Tarek.
37:14All right, let's welcome in Charles.
37:17Going last and hearing some of the critical feedback of my whole team has definitely made me nervous.
37:24My snow day activity was cutting out paper snowflakes.
37:27I did a vanilla entremet.
37:30I decorated it with a little kind of homage to my childhood self.
37:35I loved arts and crafts as a kid, and so sometimes I got a little too excited and ran with the scissors.
37:42Running with scissors is definitely naughty.
37:44As a former preschool teacher and kindergarten teacher, it could hurt someone.
37:52I think this is really fun, but I think your entremet, your mirror glaze is a little wonky.
37:58I like your color choices.
38:00I think that really, really light kind of icy blue, all those snowflakes on there.
38:05And it clearly says that this is paper cut out snowflakes.
38:10I love it.
38:11Ay.
38:12Yeah.
38:15I did a vanilla entremet.
38:18It has a rice cereal crunch, a vanilla cremeux, a vanilla genois, and then a vanilla mousse.
38:24Charles, you have made this vanilla absolutely sing, man.
38:31I mean, really brought out that flavor.
38:33You get the complexity.
38:35You get the nuance of the vanilla.
38:37It's just floral.
38:38I feel like I'm in a field somewhere.
38:40It's beautiful.
38:41Flavors, your best yet.
38:44Keep this up.
38:47I'm going to eat this whole thing.
38:49It brings tears to my eyes.
38:51It's just like Grammy Carl's pastry cream.
38:55I mean, I can't begin to tell you.
39:02Nancy's really crying.
39:07Oh, really good.
39:10It takes like a dessert on another level to make someone react like that.
39:16Thank you, Charles.
39:17Nice job.
39:18I feel proud of what I made and excited to hopefully finally break the second place curse.
39:25And also help my team continue on in this competition.
39:32Goodness gracious.
39:33So close so many times.
39:34Yeah.
39:35We'll see.
39:36We'll see.
39:37Bakers, it was very interesting watching the new team configurations play out in this bake.
39:43And two of your snow day desserts just thrilled the judges.
39:47The top dessert from the naughty team came from...
39:52Charles.
39:55And from the nice team, the best dessert was made by...
40:00Chase.
40:02But in the end, only one baker can rule this snow day.
40:07And that baker is...
40:10Charles.
40:12Thank you, Charles.
40:13Thank you, Charles.
40:14You finally broke through.
40:16Congratulations.
40:17You did it.
40:19Your vanilla entremet was simply divine.
40:22And the snowflake theme came through clearly.
40:25Never run with scissors.
40:27All right.
40:28That verdict means that Team Nice, you're going to be losing another baker.
40:34Because you had the top dessert from your team, Chase, you are safe.
40:38Thank you, judges.
40:40That, of course, leaves Giancarlos and Kamri.
40:42Please step forward, you two.
40:44Kamri, your spice cake had texture issues.
40:49And your decorating looked unfinished.
40:52Giancarlos, there was way too much hazelnut in your entremet.
40:56And your tree was falling over, and overall, it was just really sloppy.
41:01I don't know.
41:02Maybe it was the snow on the ground, but you both really slipped up today.
41:06And unfortunately, the baker leaving us is...
41:12Kamri.
41:14Kamri, I am so sorry.
41:16We really enjoyed having you here.
41:19You could take a moment, you could say your goodbyes and exit the kitchen.
41:22I'm proud to have even gotten here in the first place.
41:26So that's like a big win in my book.
41:29And to have held on as long as I have, like, is a pretty good feeling.
41:34All right, bye, y'all.
41:35Love you, Kamri.
41:36Love you.
41:37Do great. Rock it.
41:39Thank you, Kamri.
41:40Thank you, Kamri.
41:42Next time, Christmas celebration like never before in the Holiday Village.
41:46Repeat after me.
41:48You have to make a real nasty throat noise.
41:51Beautiful work.
41:53I think it's the best donut on the table.
41:56And there's a major shocker.
41:58Please don't.
41:59I was nigh expecting that.
42:00Oh, my God.
