00:00Songwriter of the Year nomination tonight.
00:02How does it feel to be here?
00:04Crazy cool.
00:05I didn't even know there was a songwriter award,
00:07so it was very cool to find that out.
00:09And, you know, songwriters, we like to stay in the back, you know, hide in our room.
00:14So to be honored and to put a spotlight on us feels really good.
00:19You worked on the Twister song, Ain't No Love, in Oklahoma.
00:22Did you expect that to take on the life that it did just on social media and on TikTok?
00:27No.
00:27It's funny because I have kids that they're saying, Mom, it's viral, you know.
00:32It really has taken on a life of its own, and it's gone way beyond my wildest dreams.
00:37When we wrote it that day, we had fun writing it, and we felt like this is powerful.
00:41But you just never know.
00:43You've worked with so many big-name artists, but who's somebody on your list to collaborate with next?
00:47Maybe a current Grammy nominee?
00:50Ooh, yeah.
00:51Lainey Wilson is a good friend of mine.
00:52We've collaborated a lot.
00:53Meg Moroney is an upcoming female artist that I write with a lot.
00:58It's great.
00:59Riley Green, there's so many.
01:01The country scene right now is chock full of great, great artists.
01:06As a country songwriter, what's your take on Cowboy Carter and just all the love that it's gotten?
01:10I think it's cool.
01:12There's so many different influences coming into country music now, and yeah, it's cool.
01:17It's fun to see.
01:19That's amazing.
01:19And who are you most excited to see perform tonight?
01:21So many big performances.
01:23I know.
01:23I'm really excited about seeing Lainey perform.
01:27I believe she's performing.
01:28And a friend of mine, Sheryl Crow, just to see her.
01:31This is like her.
01:32She's the Grammy queen, so it'll be fun to see her.
01:35I love that.
01:36I mean, this is music's biggest night, and since we're the Hollywood Reporter, I want
01:39to ask you about how music biopics are having a really big moment with A Complete Unknown.
01:44We've got the Bruce Springsteen movie coming up.
01:46Who's an artist you'd love to see a music biopic about next?
01:49Stevie Nicks.
01:51Wouldn't that be cool?
01:52I'm excited about Janis Joplin.
01:54I think that'll be fun.
01:55Just all the females.
01:56It's cool.
01:57Yeah, Stevie Nicks.
