Caroline Polachek tells THR on the 2024 Grammys red carpet what it was like to work with Beyoncé, saying she "knows what she wants" and also calls her an "incredible" producer.

00:00You look amazing. Tell me about this gown that you're wearing and how this look came about.

00:04Thank you. So I'm wearing one of my favorite designers of all time. This is Olivier Thayskens.

00:08And the collection is from 1998. It's a collection inspired by Florentine anatomical painting.

00:14So this is my heart and these are my veins.

00:17And they were hand embroidered by Olivier himself back in 1998 when the collection first came out.

00:23And I'll hold this just so we don't have to pass it back and forth. I know some people have two mics.

00:27I just have the one mic.

00:28It's fun. I like it.

00:33Now for you, you're here as a Grammy nominee for another year. What is it like returning as a nominee?

00:38I'm really excited to be here representing my own music this time because last time I was nominated,

00:43it was for my writing and production on Beyonce's self-titled album.

00:46But honestly, I'm quite excited that now this being my second nomination, it's also for another technical category.

00:54Because the behind the scenes aspect of making music is so important to me.

00:58It's such a pivotal part of my process, so it feels good. I'm having a great night.

01:03Now, Beyonce is the queen of the Grammys. She has more than anybody else. What was it like working with her?

01:09Beyonce is a force. And she also really knows what she wants in a way that I have so much admiration for.

01:15She's also an incredible producer, which no one knows. So shout out, Beyonce. The woman you are, the force you are.

01:23For you, what do you have coming up this year that your fans can look forward to? What do you have in the works?

01:28So, we're closing in on Valentine's Day. And all I can say is, I do have a Valentine for people coming up.

01:49For you, your fans are so passionate and they love your music so much. What does their support mean to you?

01:55It means the world to me. I wouldn't be here without being able to find like-minded nerds and dreamers.
