00:00Southeast Asia is facing a severe humanitarian crisis due to intense rains and storms,
00:05a phenomenon that reflects the region's growing vulnerability to climate change
00:08and leaves millions of people at risk.

00:22It is time to report on the devastating impact of the intense rains
00:27affecting Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Thailand, these simultaneously.
00:34So far, more than a thousand deaths have been reported,
00:38but authorities warn that these numbers could rise even more,
00:43as hundreds of people remain missing and several communities are still cut off.
00:50The greater loss are concentrated in Indonesia,
00:55especially on the island of Sumatra,
00:59with several hundreds dead and more than 50,000 people evacuated.
01:05Sri Lanka, floods and landslides caused by the cyclone left 100 deaths,
01:12and more than 30,000 people are in temporary shelters.
01:17In Malaysia, Malaysia, and Thailand, dozens of people died,
01:23and thousands of people were forced to leave their homes,
01:27affecting tens of thousands of people more.
01:31The waters continue to rise in several low-lying areas
01:35and along the riverbanks,
01:37while damaged roads and bridges are hindering the delivery of aid.
