00:17He visits their magnificent homes...
00:19It's not often you come to somebody who has a windmill.
00:22...seeking out collectibles...
00:24Yeah, this looks nice.
00:25What do you think of this?
00:26No!
00:27...keepsakes from their careers...
00:29Please don't drop them.

00:47Like it.

00:51Boom!
00:59Hey, Angus.
01:00Hey, Mark.
01:01You all right?
01:02Thanks.
01:03I've taken a lovely job.
01:04Yeah.
01:05There's quite a lot of it.
01:06I might have a look when I get back...
01:07...because I've got to shoot off.
01:08I'm going to see Oti Mabusi.
01:09Oh, strictly Oti.
01:10Strictly, yeah.
01:11Oh, right.
01:12Fantastic.
01:13Might get a dance lesson when I'm down there.
01:14Yeah.
01:15South African-born ballroom dancer...
01:16...and TV personality Oti Mabusi...
01:17...has appeared on numerous shows...
01:18...from Dancing on Ice...
01:19...to Loose Women.
01:20But she first cha-cha-charred...
01:21...her way into our hearts...
01:22...competing as a professional...
01:23...on Strictly Come Dancing.
01:24For seven years...
01:25...she taught a host of celebrities...
01:26...how to dance.
01:27...how to dance.
01:28I hope Angus..
01:43I would absolutely dance with Angus.
01:44I would absolutely dance with Angus.
01:45Do I think you'll be a joy to teach?
01:47Absolutely.
01:48Will it be a train wreck?
01:49Yes.
01:50absolutely will it be a train wreck yes harsh but probably fair Oti it's not
01:58every day one of the most successful dancers in the country rings you up do
02:02you like dancing I like strictly and she won it with Bill Bailey yes and I think
02:08Kelvin Fletcher as well you do know you're strictly don't I love a bit of
02:11strictly Angus and Billy have a five and a half hour drive ahead of them to Oti's
02:16home in Berkshire I started dancing when I was really young I danced my whole way
02:21through high school I danced my whole way through university and then I decided to
02:26move to Germany and start my career as a professional dancer I ended up strictly
02:32come dancing in the UK because they founded me in Germany when I was scouted
02:36there by an agent from the BBC and I guess the rest is history Oti lives with
02:43her husband Marius and their two-year-old daughter my husband he is my original
02:49dance partner we met in Germany and I think we've we've just loved dancing
02:54together ever since it's when we are the most comfortable and we can have the
03:02most communication without using words it's when we're dancing you love me
03:07imagine if I was a normal wife so boring so boring we have only recently just moved
03:13to this house so it's our fourth month it's really really really new it is an
03:1818th century house and it feels like our forever home and the feel of it is quite
03:25old Victorian kind of classic it's got a story to tell but we've kept some things
03:30from the old house and unfortunately I just don't match the house aha that's why
03:37our baby auctioneer is required I've asked Angus here today to help me auction some
03:43of the things that I do love dearly but unfortunately they just don't fit also
03:48we've got some things here from the previous owners we don't even know what
03:52they are but I'm hoping that Angus can use his expertise and find some little
03:56valuable hidden gems all right here we are
04:06oh
04:08it's warm it is
04:10hello
04:14Oti hi how are you doing you're right oh great it is thank you
04:20all right so this is the first room oh wow we haven't literally been here for about four months
04:32so not long everything that we had was quite South African safari bright colored and bringing
04:40that into the new house just didn't work okay well what sort of things we right okay we have a huge
04:46elephant in the elephant in the room in the room so this actually was a gift and I got this the first year I ever was strictly
04:58who you were for the first one Calvin Fletcher I was supposed to be actually partnered up with Jamie Lang
05:03Jamie Lang ended up injuring himself in the first show and Calvin kind of came in as he was the reserve so
05:10quite the underdog and
05:12and worked really hard and
05:14evidently did extremely
05:16well enough about the underdog
05:18what about the elephant anything
05:20that reminds me of home
05:22I really love to cherish but this
05:24is a bit much I think
05:26the bright colors as much as I love it
05:28we haven't really found the spot
05:30in the house for it yeah I really
05:32I really like it I think it's really decorative
05:34yes it's cool if you like it you can have it
05:36oh well I would happily sell that for you
05:39one for the van next
05:41okay we now have these four stools
05:44in the old house we used to have this island
05:46unfortunately though we can't find place for them in this house
05:50they just don't they don't fit
05:52they don't fit
05:53I'm going to speak a little bit lower because my husband does love them
05:56right
05:57so we are getting rid of them
05:59okay
06:00just just out of interest we do do valuations for separation purposes
06:04if there's a real problem
06:07the divorce is too expensive I can't afford the divorce
06:10but I can't afford selling these
06:12you can let Marius know we might be able to get 50 pounds for them
06:15great
06:16or Millie do you want to get the van ready
06:17yeah we can go get the van sorted
06:18Oti should we look at what else there is
06:19yeah
06:20brilliant okay
06:21that's it Millie
06:22while you quick step it to the van
06:24Angus and Oti can continue their duet in here
06:27okay Angus
06:29so this is supposed to be sort of like a playroom
06:32it's not enough space
06:34we've got two baby cupboards
06:36but she doesn't use them anymore
06:37okay
06:38I've got children so I know
06:40must have really changed things for you this
06:42sort of new chapter
06:43completely
06:44I think my whole world now is about my daughter
06:46I've had to really adjust my career
06:49luckily I'm now working on loose women
06:52and that really allows me time to do the school drop
06:56yeah
06:57go there
06:58be on television
06:59and then I'll go fetch her
07:00and then she comes in
07:01and then we have dinner
07:02and then that's the day
07:03and speaking of work
07:05is this a few outfits
07:07now this was a dress that I wore on my first ever strictly final
07:14wow
07:15look at my waist
07:16that's tiny
07:17this is literally half my breast now
07:18oh dear
07:19dance has been your whole life hasn't it
07:22from a young girl
07:23yeah
07:24I started when I was three
07:25and it's not the only thing that I've done
07:28I'm actually a civil engineer
07:30I've got an interest in designs and regional and town planning
07:34and water systems and irrigation
07:36that is incredible
07:37I know
07:38I never knew that
07:39full of surprises
07:40full of surprises
07:41but you've managed to follow your passion
07:43yeah that's the thing
07:44I take it none of these are to go
07:45these are
07:46no none of these are for sale unfortunately
07:48right
07:49so if we can clear a bit of space to get rid of the units out of here
07:51yes please
07:52next we have the garage
07:54okay
07:55no rest for the wicked Angus
07:57Oti is going to keep you on your toes today
08:01my gosh Oti
08:02that's like your workout isn't it
08:03yeah
08:04welcome to the garage
08:05slash man cave
08:06we have this fridge here
08:08yes
08:09that has never been used
08:10so what why have you got it
08:12because I was doing an advert
08:14and they were like
08:15well if you fancy a fridge
08:16it's a double door fridge
08:18it's good fridge
08:19it's brilliant
08:20yeah
08:21Oti's American style fridge freezer
08:23is made by Turkish electronics company Biko
08:26and comes with an ice and water dispenser
08:29cool eh
08:30have you ever been made into a fridge magnet
08:32do people still make fridge magnets
08:34oh yeah they do massive
08:35we could like you know put a
08:36a fridge magnet on me
08:38Oti fridge magnet
08:39whatever sells
08:40good idea Angus
08:41why not use Oti's magnetic personality
08:44to help sell the fridge
08:46Oti is the sweetest sweetest lady you could meet
08:49do you know what we see all these people on telly
08:51and things like that and we forget
08:52they're real people
08:53and they have the same challenges like the rest of us
08:55moving house
08:57new child
08:58I mean it's a challenge for everybody
09:00I don't think it's going to be vast amounts today
09:01it's kind of
09:03very much household items
09:04we'll see what we can get loaded up
09:06we'll try and create as much space as we can
09:11have you seen the box that's just over there
09:13oh Green Howards
09:15yeah
09:16oh we like that
09:17the Green Howards were a British army regiment
09:20nicknamed after one of their 18th century colonels
09:23Charles Howard and the green trim on their uniforms
09:26it's a regiment very close to our Angus' heart
09:30it's the greatest infantry regiment there's ever been
09:32they've been there at all the major campaigns
09:35incredible really
09:36obviously
09:37I was a Green Howard
09:38obviously
09:39yeah
09:41it is fundamentally just a storage box
09:44but it's belonged to CSM
09:46so that's Company Sergeant Major
09:48we've got there
09:49Sergeant Jay
09:51Hewitt
09:52Hewitt
09:53the Green Howards
09:54it's a nice thing
09:55I do like these military trunks
09:56it's a bit tired
09:57but that will sell purely because of the writing on it
10:00yeah
10:01we're not fortunes 50 to 100
10:02but you know
10:03creates a bit of Yorkshire down here isn't it
10:04yeah
10:05should we take it home?
10:06yeah definitely
10:11while Oti puts her famous feet up
10:13Angus and Millie get loading the bigger pieces of furniture
10:16including two wardrobes and the fridge freezer
10:21that's it
10:23with the heavy lifting done
10:25maybe we can relax for a minute
10:27ready go

10:50cha cha
10:51spin
10:52one
10:53two
10:54cha cha
10:55stop
10:56really?
10:57you think?
10:58what do you reckon?
10:59there we go
11:00thank you Oti
11:01probably best to stick to the day job Angus
11:03now what else can you find to take for auction?
11:06cast metal fireback
11:07they were first developed in the 16th century
11:10and they were a thing of purpose
11:12all heating at that stage was an open fire
11:14these would sit at the back
11:16it protected the wall of the fireplace from heat damage
11:19and it also reflected the heat back into the room
11:22and then over time actually people thought
11:24fireplace looks quite good let's make it decorative
11:26this is probably a 20th century version of something much earlier
11:31shows kind of a blacksmith working in his forge
11:35and just a nice thing 50 to 100 pounds something like that
11:38but if you want to create a grand house in your home
11:41this is what you need
11:42wow
11:44with the last few bits loaded up on the van
11:48back to Yorkshire
11:49Angus and Millie are done
11:51come on in to your children's playroom
11:54oh wow
11:55you wanted space
11:56oh wow
11:57i wanted space
11:59it's so open and
12:01yay
12:02oh she's gonna have so much fun
12:05i mean yay
12:06i'm so happy
12:08i'm so happy
12:09i'm so happy with angus he was brilliant he was efficient
12:19there's just so much space there's so much potential in this room alone
12:23um and i'm so happy
12:25it was really about clearing space making that space for a daughter that playroom
12:30and it's just been lovely
12:32it's not every day you can say you've danced with somebody like Oti yet
12:35it's been a special day so back to Yorkshire
12:38after your stellar dance performance
12:40now's your cha-cha chance to really impress Oti
12:44by selling all her stuff on auction day Angus
12:47what are we expecting
12:59erm
13:00quite a lot of furniture
13:01that'll do Jack
13:02with Oti's things back at the auction house
13:05the team shake a leg to get it all unloaded
13:08whoa
13:10whoa
13:11bloody hell
13:12athlete over here
13:14so everything can be researched and catalogued in time for sale day
13:20hi Charlotte
13:21hi Jeremy
13:22so what have we got here
13:23it's a print by the artist Louise Luton
13:26she specializes in doing very bright oil paintings
13:31of animals
13:32the elephant's called Hugo
13:33there's a series of prints made and they were sold in John Lewis
13:37I think it was £175 they retail for
13:40based in Salisbury Louise spent 20 years working
13:43as a secondary school teacher before being inspired to paint full time
13:47I think it's a really nice quality because it's actually quite well texted isn't it
13:50it actually feels like a canvas
13:52yeah it does
13:53I've put it at 50 to 70
13:55hopefully it'll go for quite a lot more than that
13:57let's hope for a jumbo price on sale day
14:00what you got there Angus gonna play as a tune
14:06this lamp of Oti Mabusi's is amazing
14:09oh never mind
14:11the lighting market has boomed in the last sort of ten years really
14:15and it's all about the look something a little bit different
14:18and doing something clever with lighting
14:20a lot of people call this upcycling
14:22I think probably lights are the original form of upcycling
14:27and if you go back 20 years ago
14:29it was an old wine bottle that we converted into a lamp
14:32or old stoneware bottle
14:33nowadays we convert everything into lamps
14:36I've seen musical instruments like a trombone
14:38old tools and all sorts created into something a little bit different
14:43and if something can have a new life
14:45doing something else
14:46fantastic
14:47I think it should sell well
14:48we've put sort of 60 to 80 on it as an estimate
14:50I'm sure we'll find a home for this
15:01Oti!
15:02Hello Angus!
15:03How are you doing? You're alright?
15:04I'm good
15:05How are you?
15:06Yeah, how are you feeling?
15:07I mean I'm a little bit nervous
15:09Nervous? Why?
15:10Because I've never done this before
15:11I don't know what to expect
15:12It's just like stepping out on stage
15:14Is it?
15:15Yeah, well, no
15:16there's more furniture in the way
15:17and boxes and stuff
15:18but other than that it's fine
15:19I mean if you can do that
15:20This is easy?
15:21Ok
15:22Yeah, come on
15:23Head through and I'll catch up with you in a bit
15:30The elephant!
15:32Oh man, it feels weird seeing it here
15:35Oh no!
15:37Oh no!
15:38Baby!
15:39In her first ever bedroom
15:41these were her first ever closets
15:45Oh man!
15:46It took us so long to put them together
15:50I was still in hospital
15:53and my husband would come back at midnight
15:56and just build them
15:57Some of the furniture might be a little bit tricky
16:00The fridge, look, the fridge is really good
16:02so we'll find a home for that
16:04The elephant print, you know, it's colourful
16:06I think hopefully we'll get that out of the way
16:07So I don't think it's going to be ground-breaking results
16:10but it's just going to be wonderful to have out in the sale room
16:13She's going to add a little bit of sparkle
16:15Thank you very much!
16:16Thank you! Thank you so much!
16:17Enjoy the auction!
16:18It is quite strange seeing my stuff in the Yorkshire house
16:22but now I'm excited
16:24I'm excited to let them go
16:26I'm excited for them to be in a new home
16:28and I'm excited to see how they do
16:30Well, let's get started then
16:32Millie and Jasper are set to manage all those online bids
16:36Well, let's go
16:38Now we just need Angus to put his best foot forward
16:41and strut his stuff on the rostrum
16:44Oh, we're on!
16:45Welcoming to the stage, Oti Mabusi!
16:49Just me, Clevy!
16:51First up, it's the Louise Luton elephant print

17:00It's already smashed its estimate
17:02120 pound and mid then 130

17:06This was on Oti's wall
17:08At 130 pound it is for Oti's elephant

17:30This is a bit of fun, isn't it?
17:31Oti's trombone floor lamp
17:34Couldn't quite get it to play, did we?
17:35But it lights up
17:3650 pounds start me

19:47It comes
19:48With a very limited edition

20:35With all of Oti's things waltzing off to new owners
20:39It's time to tango our way outside
20:41And find out the final scores
20:43Hey Oti
20:44Hello
20:45Are you all right?
20:46Yeah I'm good, that was so much fun
20:47You were very very good
20:49Any surprises?
20:50The biggest one was the fire
20:53The fire back
20:54The fire back
20:55Because that you found randomly
20:57Like I didn't care about it
20:59Didn't care about the box
21:00That sold as well
21:01It did
21:02Well I suppose I'm best to tell you
21:04What your grand total is
21:06The scores
21:07What is it?
21:08Seven
21:09Well it is actually a seven
21:10Seven hundred and thirty two pounds
21:12Oh yay
21:13Very good
21:14Yeah
21:15But it's been an absolute pleasure
21:16Thank you, no thank you for having me
21:18What about my auctioneering skills?
21:20Ten!
21:21Ten across the scale
21:23I'm actually really surprised with how the day went
21:28It was really exciting and like you get a little bit of adrenaline
21:32I definitely think Angus did such a brilliant brilliant job
21:34And I would definitely feel like now I'm addicted to auctions
21:39Like I'm hooked
21:40Well Oti caused quite the stir in the sale room
21:42It is wonderful
21:43Loads of people really love seeing her here
21:45I think you know a few good results actually
21:47One or two things did well
21:48Really really good day
21:49Pleased for one of the nicest and nicest people you can meet
21:52Charlotte there's a reason why you're coming on the job with me today
22:05Yeah
22:06It's a very long drive
22:07Is that the reason?
22:09Well you're in the same
22:12Yeah
22:13No no I'm taking you home
22:14We're going to Somerset
22:16We are
22:17If that isn't exciting enough we're going to go see Martin Roberts
22:22Oh my gosh
22:23Yeah
22:24It's exciting
22:25It sure is Charlotte
22:27Martin Roberts is one of the UK's top property experts and most popular TV personalities
22:33With decades of experience as a property developer under his belt
22:38He's presented a host of TV and radio shows
22:41But he's best known for the BBC auction show Homes Under The Hammer
22:45Which he's presented for over two decades
22:48It's about 5,000 properties that I've visited
22:52And about you know 10,000 different ways of describing damp
22:59Now this is a home I can't wait to see
23:10It's a six hour drive for Angus and Charlotte to Martin's home in the Somerset countryside
23:17Through to the nice sized living area
23:20Loads of light coming in through the bay window there
23:22And I love the fact that we've got all this natural wood on the floors
23:25Obviously somebody's taking a lot of trouble to actually strip that back
23:29Actually it was a weekend of hell
23:33Wrong series Martin but it is a very nice house
23:36I didn't have kids when I bought it but it's turned out to be the most perfect family house
23:41I've been collecting stuff for years it is my passion
23:45I love going to car boot sales I love going to flea markets
23:48And I'm really good at buying stuff
23:50But I think it's about time that I should make you some money on it maybe
23:54And what might you spend this money on?
23:56I'm renovating a pub
23:58A community pub in the top of the Rhonda Valley
24:01It's going to be a gastropub, a boutique hotel
24:05And even by my standards it is chomping through the cash
24:10So maybe my wumbling at all these fairs and boot sales
24:15Can actually be money in the bank which I'm now turning into cash
24:19Good plan
24:20I bet he's got a nice house
24:22I reckon he might
24:24He must do
24:25Oh here we are
24:26I think we're nearly here
24:27I expect I will be disappointed on what some things get
24:33Because it's what somebody's willing to pay
24:37And they might not share my passion
24:39But I might be pleasantly surprised
24:42And at the end of the day every penny helps
24:45That's the spirit Martin
24:49Hello
24:56Hello
24:57Angus
24:58How are you doing? You alright?
24:59Nice to meet you
25:00Good, and Charlotte
25:01Charlotte, lovely to meet you too
25:02Wonderful
25:03You've got a welcoming party
25:04Oh look at this
25:05This is waffle and this is crumbled
25:07And that's a noodle
25:08Oh they're gorgeous
25:09I love the names
25:10Yeah thank you, all food related
25:12I have to say that a lot of the stuff is in my carefully organised garage
25:16Oh let's go to the garage then
25:17Shall we go get it down there?
25:18Okay, you lead on
25:19Yeah
25:20So how long have you lived here then Martin?
25:24About 40 years in this house
25:26Wow
25:27In that time, much to my wife's annoyance I've filled it with completely piles of...
25:32Well I call it collectibles, she calls it rubbish
25:35What's that?
25:36As a child, I used to go to these steam rallies with my dad
25:39Yeah
25:40And he was an engineer, he was a scientist
25:42So I went to university, got a degree in electronics, electrical engineering
25:46Okay
25:47So anything to do with steam and railways and engines, it is amazing
25:51So this is a proper
25:53Oh we like this
25:54Five inch
25:55Yeah
25:56Steam engine
25:57Okay
25:58That is fantastic
25:59Which is absolutely beautiful
26:00That is a fully functioning engine
26:02Yes
26:03I mean it will drive like a real train
26:04Yes
26:05Steam
26:06Fantastic
26:07However, you're not having that
26:08Oh right
26:09Oh, and after all that
26:11Moving on to more steam stuff, I found this
26:14It's something that's been scratch built
26:16But this manufacturer I understand, Stuart
26:18Yes
26:19Is quite well known for their engineering model
26:21They are
26:22Established in 1898 in Henley-on-Thames as part of the Stuart-Turner Group
26:27Stuart models continue to make model steam engines at a factory in Bridport in Dorset today
26:33I quite like this, the fact that it's, it's got the boiler, it's got the piston thing
26:38And then it's got a generator and you can connect it to a couple of light bulbs
26:41Yeah
26:42So I think that's really quite
26:44That's lovely
26:45That's really quite sweet
26:46Hopefully it generates some bids
26:48A lot of musical instruments I can see
26:50Yeah
26:51You know, one of the things I want to do in the pub is have an area with lots of musical instruments
26:55That the local kids can come in and play
26:57So I'm trying to get a real mixture of things
26:59Wow, I hope he's soundproofed the walls
27:02But I have got a few duplicates
27:03And one of the things I've got too up is an accordion
27:05Okay
27:06The first accordion was patented in Vienna in 1829
27:10Martin's one isn't as old, dating from the mid to late 20th century and made by German brand Weltmeister
27:17Do you play?
27:19I think that's a no
27:25You know, I can't play an accordion
27:27But
27:28I see the vision
27:29You know
27:30It works
27:31Do your best
27:32Yeah
27:33Just need someone who can play it
27:34The accordion should squeeze a few notes out of someone
27:37What else is up for grabs?
27:40I've got this
27:41You might want to have some fun with
27:43Oh
27:44The classic Gladstone bag
27:45The Gladstone bag
27:46Yeah
27:47Exactly
27:48But I love the detail on this
27:49I love the brass fitting
27:50Lovely isn't it
27:51It just
27:52Classic
27:53Why is it called a Gladstone bag?
27:55The bag manufacturer named it after the Prime Minister
27:58No
27:59William Gladstone was Prime Minister for a total of 12 years
28:03Spread out over four terms between 1868 and 1894
28:08It's thought that London leather goods seller JG Beard named the bag in his honour
28:13It is really the doctor's bag because it was almost the standard that that's what the doctors carried around
28:19It's an iconic British bag
28:21It is
28:22That's lovely, I mean that's a nice one and it's in good order
28:24Bag it up Angus
28:26Not bad so far
28:27You know, it's an auctioneer's dream opening up a garage like that and seeing all those wonderful items
28:32However, I think actually selling things might be a bit of an issue for him
28:37And I think he's bought a lot of these items retail
28:40So he's probably paid a lot more for them than what realistically we're going to get at auction
28:45So I'm going to have to manage those expectations a little bit
28:48But he should be used to that
28:49He does that on his show
28:51I'm sure you can wheedle enough things out of Martin to raise some cash for that pub project in Wales, Angus
28:57So while Charlotte readies the van, let's check inside the house
29:01Welcome
29:02Martin
29:03I'm loving the house
29:05It's just been a great spot
29:07Yeah
29:08So lots and lots of work to get it like this and it's ongoing
29:10I've got the fish tank in the kitchen and this open plan stuff
29:13So this is my office but I love
29:16I know, I know
29:17I love surrounding myself by things that I love while I'm working
29:20With the collector's market, things like toys
29:22Right
29:23It's all nostalgia driven
29:24Of course it is, it's so funny
29:25And when you've got the chance to buy these things
29:27When you couldn't
29:28Yeah
29:29It's like, yeah, I'm going to get a Skeletrix
29:30This, right
29:31It's in a box
29:32Yeah
29:33Which obviously you'll know is
29:34Always good
29:35Is quite important
29:37It's brilliant, isn't it?
29:38I mean, it is just genius
29:40Exterminate! Exterminate!
29:42Exterminate!
29:43Doctor Who's greatest enemies, the Daleks
29:46Appeared in the very first season of Doctor Who in 1963
29:50This tin plate wind-up Dalek was released by London toy company Kodeg in 1965
29:57I mean, it's so iconic, isn't it, the Dalek
29:59But, you know, there's a real collector's market for it
30:02It's great, it's got its box
30:03They're generally anywhere from £150 up to just over the £300 mark
30:08So...
30:09OK
30:10Fingers crossed on the day
30:11What a great find
30:12I know
30:13You quite like this, don't you?
30:14Rummaging round and biting
30:15I love it
30:16It's my happy place
30:17Yeah
30:18Sunday mornings
30:19Yeah, going round the flea markets, all the car boots
30:22Well, it looks like you have an eye, Martin
30:24Because over the next hour, Angus and Charlotte find many more enticing bits and bobs
30:30Grab a box and we'll...
30:31Yes
30:32Full steam ahead
30:33Yes, boss
30:34No, it was a joke about trains
30:36Oh, yeah
30:37Stick to auctioneering
30:39Right, I can take this straight to the van
30:42And that's the cabinet glass top three
30:44Right
30:45Nick will relish investigating these two, whatever they are models
30:49Back at the auction house
30:51Fantastic
30:52And...
30:53Hopefully it works
30:54A couple of spare batteries in the garage
30:56This electric mountain bike might be worth a few, Bob
30:59I do occasionally buy things on impulse and I think the electric bike was one of those
31:02It was sort of in the early days when electric bikes came out, it's a really good one
31:06And I used it a few times, I was like, yeah, actually, you know what, it's a lot easier to cycle around
31:09And it has sat there for years
31:11Could be a real deal for someone
31:13And with that...
31:15Oh, right
31:17We are done
31:19Done
31:23Hey
31:24Hey
31:25All set, we're all ready
31:26Well, you know what
31:27I'm excited, I'm nervous, I'm emotional
31:29We'll see you up on auction day
31:31Brilliant
31:32Don't forget to read the legal pack
31:33Oh, your legal pack?
31:34You've got one, have you?
31:35In terms of conditions
31:36Yeah, I don't know, apparently that's what you say, innit?
31:37We haven't talked about commission, by the way
31:39Yeah, yeah, yeah
31:40Yeah, well, you know, obviously, I've got to pay for the van and Charlotte's expensive, you know
31:44Do me a deal, will you?
31:45Yeah, yeah, yeah, right
31:46Travel safely
31:48It was really nice to meet Angus and Charlotte
31:50Even at the eleventh hour, I was still thinking about grabbing them back
31:56That is how much of a problem I've got
31:58But anyway, no, it's done now, they're gone, it's too late
32:01I think there's a bit of him that wants to take it all back off the van again
32:05He's talked about reserves
32:06So, look, we're going to get everything catalogued
32:08We'll go back to him with a pre-sale estimate of what we think everything's going to do at auction
32:13And we'll see about that
32:14Anyway, back to Yorkshire, back on the work
32:16I don't envy you, Angus
32:18Martin's always after a good return
32:21Let's hope it's not moans under the hammer on auction day
32:25Back at the auction house, once all Martin's things are unloaded, the team can start processing everything in time for the sale day
32:45Right, well, this is right up my street
32:48I really love this
32:49We've got two really fascinating industrial architectural engineering models of basically glasswork furnaces
32:58These have come from now defunct company called Chance Brothers
33:03They were a very well known glass making company based in Smethic
33:07Models like this, they were typically boardroom models
33:10And they're basically for when customers come in, potential customers
33:14They can be shown the full level of industrial complexity that the company has on offer
33:19And what machines they might be using
33:21What I love about these is just the level of work and effort that's gone into them
33:25They're all metal, all of the little nuts and bolts are real
33:28I would have said sort of mid-60s, that sort of era
33:32They've both got nicely framed glass cases as well
33:37Very specialist market, obviously, but they're just so fantastic
33:42An estimate would probably have to be around the £1-2,000 mark
33:45Smashing!
33:47To maximise the price for the glass factory models, Nicky's cataloguing them as two separate lots
33:53Hi Charlotte!
33:58Hi Jeremy!
33:59What have you got there?
34:00Here we have a Dunhill table lighter
34:03It's a genie lamp, is it?
34:04Yeah, this is a mid-century one, so 1952 to 1960 these were manufactured
34:09Yeah, absolutely banging it, isn't it?
34:11Yeah
34:12And it's silver plate, presumably
34:13Yes, yes
34:14So, Dunhill was founded by Alfred Dunhill in 1893
34:18Oh, as early as that, I didn't know that
34:19So, Victorian people
34:20Yeah
34:21And he was only 21 years old
34:22So, young man to be
34:23Gosh, an entrepreneur
34:24Yeah
34:25Alfred Dunhill initially specialised in automobile accessories and driving attire
34:30Before expanding into cigarette lighters
34:32So, how does it actually work?
34:33So, you...
34:34We...
34:35We...
34:36Oh, yes!
34:37Amazing
34:38I feel like we can quite confidently say there'll be a collector out there that wants it
34:42Definitely
34:43Let's wish for lots of bidders on sale day
34:45Hey, buddy!
34:46Hey!
34:47How's it going?
34:48Good to see you in your neck of the woods
34:49Yeah, am I?
34:50Welcome to Yorkshire
34:51I've got two real fears today
34:52I'm going to end up getting less than I pay for things
34:53That's number one
34:54Number two
34:55Yeah
34:56Is I'm going to spend a lot more than you're going to raise from what I sell buying other things
35:00Well, that's a good day for me
35:01Come on in and have a look
35:02Great
35:03Oh!
35:04Oh!
35:05Oh, wow!
35:06It's a while since I've seen these actually out where I can see them
35:25The detail is amazing, but as long as it goes to a good home
35:31Those scale engineering models are incredible
35:34I don't know, they deserve to do well, but I'm just not sure who will want them
35:37I think Martin's perhaps overpaid for a few things and got a little bit carried away at Antiques Fair
35:41So I think that might be a bit of a challenge to get the money that he wants on it
35:45Oh, here's the Gladstone bag
35:48I think I bought this at Bewley Auto Jumble
35:51I thought I'd got a great deal getting it for, I think, £110
35:56And I think it's guided at, like...
36:01£50
36:05Great
36:06He's got a few reserves on
36:08I'm hoping we can hit those reserves, but we'll see how we get on
36:13I am really, really nervous
36:16I should be excited, I should be thinking, woo-hoo-hoo!
36:19This is a first, I've never sold anything pretty much ever
36:24What's the opposite of buyer's remorse? That's seller's remorse
36:27Yeah, I've just invented a new thing
36:28I've invented a new emotion that I'm going through today
36:30Seller's remorse
36:32Hey, enough of that
36:33This is Angus, remember?
36:35Plus you have the formidable duo of Millie and Jasper each tackling those online bidders
36:41So sit yourself down
36:42We've just eleven lots to get through and try and enjoy yourself
36:46Good morning ladies and gentlemen
36:48We're delighted to have the Martin Roberts collection
36:51Yes!
36:52There we go, I'm sure you're all familiar with Homes Under The Hammer
36:54Different auction this time
36:56First up is Martin's 1960s Dalek made by Kodeg Toys
37:00Oh, this is great, isn't it?
37:03Bit of a toy collector, aren't you?
37:05Yeah I am
37:06There we go, the Dalek, it winds up and it drives around and it's brilliant
37:11So brilliant that Martin placed a £250 reserve
37:15I come in on commission at bottom estimate 200 and I've got 210 here
37:19At 210, at 210, 220, 230, 240
37:22I've got 250 online, 260, 270, 270 it is then it's a great thing at 270, 280 is it now
37:28280, 280 it is then it, 280 it is then it, 280
37:31You've got to sell away the Dalek at 280
37:35See? Feeling better now, Martin?
37:38Only lost 20 quid on that
37:41Wow, this is going to be a tough one
37:43Now the must-have fashion accessory for prime ministers and property experts everywhere
37:49The lovely, lovely Gladstone bag, that is a quality bag, is that?
37:53Is this another one you paid?
37:55We've paid way too much for this
37:56Well we've got interest in it, we can go straight in
37:5980 pounds, straight in at 80 on commission
38:0180 pound a bid
38:0280 it is then at 80 pounds at 80 it is then at 80 pound at 80 it is then
38:05Lovely, lovely bag
