00:00The stars are coming to Angus' Yorkshire auction house.
00:04We've actually got two celebs for the price of one, haven't we?
00:06Oh, dear.
00:07Because he's helping more of our best-loved celebrities...
00:10Hello!
00:11Hey!
00:12Tuck your shirt in.
00:14Yeah, well, I've been working.
00:15...turn their belongings into cold, hard cash.
00:18Come on!
00:19This is my grandma's old wireless.
00:22He visits their magnificent homes...
00:24It's not often you come to somebody who has a windmill.
00:27...seeking out collectibles...
00:29Yeah, this looks nice.
00:30What do you think of this?
00:32...keepsakes from their careers...
00:34Please don't drop them.
00:35Those are staying.
00:36I was just looking.
00:37...and stuff they no longer need...
00:39We have this fridge here.
00:40Yeah, OK.
00:41...to sell back at his auction house...
00:43Oh, no!
00:43Oh, wow!
00:45This is like an Aladdin's cave for me.
00:48Well, it looks fantastic here.
00:49...turning their possessions...
00:515,100.
00:52I like it.
00:53...into piles of money.
00:56Boom!
00:59...to sell back at his auction house...
01:00...to sell back at his auction house...
01:01...to sell back at his auction house...
01:02Number three.
01:11Yeah?
01:12What do you think?
01:14Why are you singing?
01:14Yeah, what do you think?
01:18Why are you singing?
01:19No, I'm practising, cos I'm going to go see somebody,
01:21and if I'm good, you never know, I could have a duo,
01:24I could get an album. I mean, they've got four Brit Awards.
01:26Who are you seeing? Russell Watson.
01:28Oh!
01:29Russell Watson.
01:31He's been belting out operatic bangers for 25 years,
01:35singing his way into the nation's hearts
01:37and shifting 7 million albums in the process.
01:41He's performed world over to presidents, popes
01:45and even Premier League footballers.
01:47Not bad for a lad from Salford.
01:50Can you imagine if I walked on stage and went,
01:53You all right, our kid? I've got a couple of numbers for you now.
01:57We're going to start, right, with Puccini and Ness and Dorma.
02:01Are you up for it?
02:02Wow, Angus, you were in for a treat.
02:05Who knew Russell fancied himself as a bit of an impressionist?
02:09Whenever I try to do, like, an impersonation of anybody speaking Italian,
02:12I end up sounding like Jose Mourinho.
02:15It's when I do this thing with my voice,
02:18and then all of a sudden I think,
02:20Wait a minute, I've become Jose.
02:23Ever since I could speak, I've mimicked everyone around me.
02:27No, seriously, I mean, I think when I do the Paul O'Grady,
02:31it's spot on.
02:32Not bad, not bad.
02:35The man of many talents lives with his wife, Louise,
02:38in this gorgeous Cheshire farmhouse,
02:40which they moved into three years ago.
02:42We wake up every morning, we can't believe our luck, can we?
02:45Yeah, it's an amazing place.
02:47Fell in love with it the moment we drove up the pathway to it
02:51and saw the open countryside and the beautiful view.
02:54That was it.
02:55So far, so good.
02:57So, why the call to Angus?
02:59I'm a hoarder, a natural hoarder.
03:02I don't like to get rid of things
03:03because certain specific items to me
03:06denote memories from certain times.
03:09But stylistically, this place is very different
03:13to the other house that we lived in.
03:15This house has got lower ceilings, it's got oak beams.
03:18The other place had more of a modern feel,
03:21so a lot of the stuff hasn't quite worked.
03:25Oh, my word, look at that, it's a view.
03:27The menagerie waiting, we've got sheep, horses, animals everywhere.
03:32I tell you, this looks like my sort of house, this does.
03:34Incredible.
03:36We're hoping Angus is able to take some stuff away today, hopefully.
03:40I'm sure he'll do his best, Louise.
03:43Now, Angus, compose yourself.
03:45For this job, you'll need to be pitch perfect.
03:49Aha!
03:50Morning!
03:51Hello there, how are you?
03:52I'm very well, thank you.
03:53This is my wife, by the way, Louise.
03:54Hi, how are you doing? You all right?
03:56Lovely to meet you.
03:56Yeah, and you.
03:57We have coffee and crumpets at the radio.
03:59Oh, brilliant.
03:59My mom's happy coming in.
04:04What an amazing place you've got.
04:06I mean, this is just incredible.
04:08Well, the view's what sold it us.
04:09It's amazing.
04:10Clearly a huge love of animals.
04:12Just a little bit.
04:12Or is that?
04:13I mean, a lot of people obviously talk to their animals a lot,
04:15which is really important.
04:16Do you, like, sing to them when nobody's around?
04:18Is it a...
04:19I do.
04:20My shih tzu's sort of, like, crawling around the floor here somewhere.
04:23She follows me everywhere.
04:25And when I do start doing my scales,
04:27she'll sit literally down by the side of me.
04:30And as I start, particularly when I start going up for the higher notes,
04:33she'll howl with me.
04:35Very good.
04:36How is it that I can help today?
04:38You think I'm a hoarder, don't you?
04:40Everything's sentimental.
04:41Everything's got a story.
04:43Yeah.
04:43But we can't keep everything, Angus.
04:46You've got an accumulation of items,
04:47and you need to just have a little fin out.
04:49Yeah.
04:50Yeah.
04:50Well, shall we have a look round, then?
04:52OK.
04:53Don't worry, Russell.
04:54It'll be fine.
04:55It'll be fine.
04:57Show you the way.
04:58Oh, OK.
04:59Right.
05:00Let's see what Russell's got planned for the overture.
05:03Oh, wow.
05:04It's a snooker room.
05:05What we've got here, is this...
05:07Oh, well, yeah.
05:08This one's very special to me.
05:11It's my first gold disc.
05:13100,000 sales?
05:14Just in the UK?
05:15In the UK alone, yeah.
05:17So, obviously, I'm not taking the gold disc.
05:19But what we have got,
05:20and this is the platinum disc of my second album.
05:26OK.
05:27Encore.
05:27Encore.
05:28Yeah.
05:28I'm sure we'd definitely find some massive fans that would love that.
05:32Ooh, very show-busy.
05:34Putting the money towards anything that we raise?
05:36Yeah, I'd like to donate some of the money to brain tumour research.
05:40In that period, 2006,
05:42that was what took the train off the tracks for a while.
05:46Russell had been experiencing terrible headaches for a year
05:50when he received a shocking diagnosis.
05:52The first tumour came along and was operated on,
05:56and for a while, everything seemed all right.
05:58The second one came along and went to bed one night,
06:01and unexpectedly, the thing had grown twice the size
06:04and haemorrhage while I was asleep and left me unconscious
06:06and had to have emergency surgery on that, thankfully survived.
06:10Started 25 treatments of radiotherapy,
06:13and the recovery from that took a very long time.
06:17You know, I got so much incredible support
06:19and letters and flowers and everything coming through every day.
06:23It was really quite touching.
06:24That was a point where I began to reassess and re-evaluate my life.
06:30I wanted a better balance between family, friends and work,
06:35and that's pretty much what I got.
06:37We'll try and endeavour to do as well as we can.
06:40We'll take good care of that one.
06:42Now, what's next on the concert programme, I wonder?
06:45This may not say cliché,
06:46but do you, like, practise in the shower, your singing?
06:48Not usually.
06:50If I'm doing regular vocal scales, I'll come in here
06:53cos this is one of the most resonant rooms in the house
06:56cos it's got hard flooring.
06:58And a pair of keen opera buffs by the look of it.
07:01Imagine you could probably sing, actually, Angus.
07:04Let's try a...
07:05La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la...
07:11La-la...
07:13Wow. That's shocking.
07:16I think it's time to do what you best do.
07:20Yeah, OK, fine.
07:22Sorry, Russell.
07:25Just through here?
07:26The only tenor Angus knows anything about
07:28is the one that folds up into a wallet.
07:31Welcome to my man cave, Angus.
07:32Wow!
07:34It's quite the room of accolades.
07:35I mean, how many?
07:37Yeah, four Brit Awards.
07:39Russell picked up his first classical Brit Award in 2001.
07:44They're not for sale, by the way.
07:45No, no, well, I didn't think there were.
07:46I mean, you know, I'll just check it, yeah.
07:49But I do have something that is for sale from that era.
07:53Oh, OK.
07:53This is the white silk suit
07:56that I wore when I collected my second two Brits.
08:00Wow.
08:00I had this handmade
08:02by a chap called William Hunt,
08:05who's a Savile Row tailor.
08:06Yeah.
08:06And it's pure silk, this, I believe.
08:09It's a marvellous suit.
08:11It's just unfortunate about the colour.
08:13But under the light, actually, on the night,
08:15it did look pretty good.
08:18Yeah, I think somebody that's a big fan of yours
08:20is going to love that.
08:21It's the suit you wore at the Brits,
08:22and I think that just adds that bit of gravitas.
08:25If there's a dapper Russell fan on sale day,
08:28this could make up to £200.
08:31I mean, are you happy for me to just have a wonder?
08:34I think so, yes.
08:35Just don't take too much stuff away.
08:38All right, leave me to it.
08:39I'll have a look round.
08:41Louise, I think, is happiest for me to take anything.
08:43Russell, I think he'll let a few bits go,
08:45but, you know, he's quite attached.
08:46Everything means something, and I get it.
08:49I've just got to tread that line
08:50between keeping Russell happy, Louise happy.
08:54Get some bits away, but maybe not too much.
08:56We'll see what I can get.
08:57Well, now you're off the leash to roam free, Angus,
09:00you can, er, take your time.
09:04Mm, this looks nice.
09:06The Ulysse Nardin,
09:08and it's probably a make that a lot of people
09:09aren't familiar with unless you're really into
09:11your watches and timepieces.
09:14It's founded in 1846 in Switzerland,
09:16home of all the top watchmakers,
09:19but what Nardin did was they specialised on chronographs.
09:23In fact, they are arguably the world's leading manufacturer
09:28of chronograph watches and timepieces.
09:31A chronograph is a timepiece with a stopwatch mechanism.
09:35Russell was gifted this 18-carat gold one
09:38as a thank you after a performance.
09:40We're probably somewhere between 1,000 and 2,000
09:42on a watch like this, so, er, really nice thing.
09:45Uh-oh, not more singing.
09:53La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.
09:59Hang on, what's going on here?
10:03La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.
10:11Yeah, very funny, Russell.
10:13Anyway, this fender of yours is off to auction.
10:16It can get a closer look back in Kirby Moorside.
10:21As well as the guitar,
10:24there's a clarinet up for grabs.
10:26So, once that
10:30and those musical mementos are loaded up,
10:35it could be job done.
10:38Hey!
10:39Oh, unless Louise wants to sneak something on the van, too.
10:43Is this your saddle?
10:44Yeah, it has been on my previous horses,
10:46but it's no use for it now.
10:48Oh, OK.
10:49Made by British saddle maker Albion,
10:52this dressage saddle could add around 50 pounds to the pot
10:56Plenty of horse riders round here.
10:57We'll take that.
11:01And with that, it's almost time to hit the road.
11:04What a day.
11:06Not a huge amount to sell.
11:07There's a few choice bits.
11:09Obviously, the watch is probably the star item in terms of value.
11:11It's platinum disc.
11:12But I've had a wonderful day
11:14and, you know, I've just got to practise hard now,
11:17ready for our duet on sale day.
11:19Oh, please say he's joking.
11:21Thank you very much.
11:22It's been an absolute pleasure.
11:23It's been lovely.
11:24I'm going to practise in the van on the way home.
11:26See you soon.
11:27La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.
11:29It's nice to see him putting so much effort into it as well.
11:32Stay sharp, Angus.
11:34If you pitch this sale right,
11:36Russell could be in for a nice little earner.
11:52Now, then.
11:53What a glorious day.
11:55What's he got?
11:55Yeah, not a lot, but some interesting bits.
11:57A white silk suit.
11:59To be honest, that's more you than me.
12:00I don't think it is me.
12:03Russell's modest haul will need to be researched,
12:06put into lots and entered into the online catalogue
12:08in time for the auction.
12:10There are two names that are synonymous with guitars.
12:17Gibson and Fender.
12:18And we've got here Russell's Fender Stratocaster.
12:21So Fender, sort of, as a corporation, was properly founded in 1946,
12:26and their first sort of well-known guitar was the Esquire,
12:30which later became a Telecaster that came out in 1950.
12:32Then in 54, Leo Fender, who was the founder of the company,
12:37wanted to sort of do a change design,
12:40and from that design came the Stratocaster.
12:43The Stratocaster's slimline contoured shape
12:46was a revolutionary design,
12:48making for a comfortable fit into the player's body.
12:53So the Stratocaster's quite popular in sort of blues, rock and stuff.
12:56It's got a very versatile sound.
12:58Eric Clapton had one.
13:00Jimi Hendrix had a white Strat
13:01that was famously played at Woodstock.
13:03That sold for two million.
13:05Wowzers! And Russell's?
13:07So auction, Fender's always do well,
13:09especially Stratocaster's.
13:11With this one being a late 2000s model,
13:13you're looking at an estimate of sort of 6900.
13:16I think it'll do comfortably within that range.
13:18Possibly a bit better, depending on the day.
13:24Hi, Charlotte. Hi, Angus.
13:26I'm just having a look at this ring,
13:27and I'm not quite sure if it's 18-carat white gold or platinum.
13:31The mark in there is a very tiny stamp anyway,
13:35and I can see that it says something 50,
13:37but I can't see if it's 750 or 950.
13:40Ah.
13:41A 750 stamp indicates the piece is 75% gold
13:45and 25% other metals like nickel or palladium,
13:50which give it its white colour.
13:52950 means it's 95% pure platinum.
13:56So you're going to try and sort of clean that?
13:58Yeah.
13:59Because I mean, there'll be a big difference in price.
14:00It's got some weight to it, so, I mean, it's 32 grams.
14:03Yeah, 32 grams, platinum, 450, 500.
14:06White gold, you're pushing 1,500 pounds, aren't you?
14:08Yeah, so it's sort of triple the price, really.
14:09Yeah.
14:10Russell was given this ring by a concert promoter
14:13following a show in Tokyo.
14:15Fingers crossed it's 18-carat.
14:16Well, I'll let you get it cleaned up.
14:18Let me know, Charlotte, all right?
14:19I will.
14:19Oh, my God, how are we doing?
14:33Louise and Russell have travelled up
14:35with Shih Tzu Muffin and Pomeranian Wolfie.
14:38It's lovely to see you.
14:39You're looking very dapper.
14:41Well, did you, you know, try?
14:43Hi, Russell.
14:44We've got the family.
14:45The family, aren't we?
14:46And how are we feeling about the auction?
14:48Excited.
14:48We can't wait.
14:49Yeah, looking forward to it.
14:50It's my first one, so...
14:52OK, come on in and have a look round.
14:53Come on.
14:54Thanks, Angus.
14:58One forwarders, head on through,
15:00and I'll catch up with you in a bit.
15:00Thank you very much.
15:01Thank you, Angus.
15:05Ooh.
15:05Wow.
15:07This is cool.
15:08This is where it all happens.
15:10Yeah.
15:10Really excited.
15:11You know, not a lot of lots in,
15:13but they've got some good bits.
15:14I always dreamt of being things
15:15that I wasn't very good at.
15:16like a rock guitarist.
15:20Oh, yeah.
15:22Now, I can strum out a tune on a guitar,
15:25but I ain't no Jimmy Page.
15:29Russell has set a couple of reserves,
15:31which might be a little bit ambitious,
15:34but we'll see.
15:35Oh, the watch.
15:37Hoping for great things from that today.
15:39The watch is probably his standout item,
15:42so we'll see how we get on.
15:45Starting to get excited, actually.
15:46You can feel the tension in the room is palpable.
15:48I am looking forward to seeing if my saddle will sell.
15:53Yes.
15:53I'm hoping it will.
15:54Yes, yes.
15:54Cos that saddle has been in the way for years.
15:58Russell and Louise have ten lots in today's sale,
16:02and a line-up of top talent to help shift them.
16:05Our divas waiting in the wings for internet bids
16:08are the two Charlottes,
16:11while the three tenors, Joe, Mark and Sammy,
16:14all have phone buyers on the line.
16:16But this moment belongs to our very own maestro.
16:20Here he comes,
16:21the Yorkshire Pavarotti.
16:23It's Angus.
16:24We've got Russell here.
16:27How are you?
16:28Are you OK, ladies?
16:29And he's even given me singing lessons.
16:32Go on.
16:33La, la, la, la, la, la.
16:34I've got a bit of a chest infection.
16:36It's not working today.
16:38First up, the ring,
16:40which Charlotte scrubbed up
16:41and found to be 18-carat white gold,
16:44which is good news for Russell.
16:46You got this...
16:47Was it on tour you got this, didn't you?
16:49Yeah, from Tokyo.
16:50I was presented with the ring.
16:52I just don't like jewellery.
16:54I struggle to wear my wedding ring.
16:56I bet you do.
16:57Well, no.
16:59That's welded on, is that one.
17:02Wish me for this one.
17:03We can open at £1,200.
17:05£1,200, open your bid.
17:07At £1,200 and bid.
17:08£1,200 and bid.
17:09£1,250.
17:09£1,300.
17:11£1,350.
17:12I've got £1,380.
17:14£1,4?
17:15£1,4.
17:15I'm out.
17:16At £1,400 it is then.
17:18At £1,400 it is then.
17:20For the Tokyo Tour ring,
17:21starting at £1,400.
17:24Not bad, eh, Russell?
17:26Hey!
17:27It's the Fender Stratocaster next,
17:30but any wannabe Hendrix says
17:32will have to fork out at least £900,
17:34which is Russell's reserve.
17:36I don't want this to sell.
17:37I reluctantly let it go
17:39on my wife's recommendation.
17:41Well, actually,
17:42he went out for a cup of tea
17:43and she said,
17:44Angus, get the stuff in the van.
17:45That's what she said.
17:46We're at £5,40.
17:47At £5,40.
17:48Ah, come on,
17:48it's worth all of this.
17:49£5,60, let's go.
17:50At £5,60, come on,
17:51ladies and gentlemen.
17:52I mean,
17:52this gentleman's sung for the Pope.

22:20Angus has a healthy sum
22:21for the pot.
22:22Hello.
22:32Hello.
22:33I thought you were brilliant.
22:35We were so impressed
22:36with your artistry
22:38and how you move things along
22:40so incredibly quickly.
22:42Good.
22:42Any particular lot
22:43you were happy with?
22:44The watch just kept going up,
22:46didn't it,
22:46which was really good.
22:47There were loads of people in it.
22:48Good watch.
22:49Watch market strong.
22:50So you'd be taking home
22:52a grand total
22:52of £7,007.
22:54My gosh.
22:56There we go.
22:56That's pretty good.
22:58From our perspective,
22:59it was a great experience.
23:00I'm really pleased
23:03with how it went.
23:04Great day.
23:05Lovely part of the world.
23:07Sun's shining.
23:07What more could you ask for?
23:08As an experience,
23:09brilliant.
23:10And we sold some stuff as well,
23:11which was great.
23:13The wash,
23:14we thought it'd do well,
23:15but that was the absolute star
23:16of the show.
23:17Delighted with that.
23:18Overall,
23:18quite a decent sum of money.
23:20I think Louise will be ringing me
23:21when he's out on tour
23:22to come and clear the rest of it out.
23:31You all right, Jay?
23:32I am.
23:32How are you?
23:33Yeah,
23:33I'm in character, look.
23:34I can see your Yorkshire outfit on.
23:36Yeah, well,
23:37I'm going to see somebody from,
23:39well,
23:39some would argue
23:40one of the best soaps.
23:41Certainly,
23:42location's the best,
23:44I think.
23:44EastEnders?
23:45It's in London.
23:46Coronation Street?
23:47Wrong side of the Pennines.
23:48Emmerdale.
23:49Emmerdale,
23:50Yorkshire, yeah.
23:50Yorkshire's their own site.
23:52So I'm going to see Roxy
23:52play Leila in Emmerdale.
23:54Oh, wow.
23:55Roxy Shahidi,
23:57the screenwriter,
23:58yoga guru
23:59and podcaster
24:00is a bona fide thesp,
24:03starting her acting career
24:04on the stage
24:05back in 2004
24:06before radio
24:07then TV beckoned.
24:09Her biggest role
24:10came in 2008,
24:12that of ditzy
24:13and fun-loving
24:14Leila Harding
24:15on Emmerdale,
24:16setting God's Own County.
24:18I think the experience
24:19rubbed off on her a bit.
24:21Oh, my God!
24:22I love Yorkshire so much.
24:23I think they're
24:23the friendliest people
24:24in the world,
24:25the best rolling hills,
24:26best tea shop.
24:27I get up to
24:27so much crazy stuff.
24:29It's rock and roll
24:30in Yorkshire
24:30with me.
24:32Roxy's rock and roll
24:33hangout
24:34is this cute
24:3519th century
24:36period home
24:37near the centre of York
24:38that she shares
24:39with her husband,
24:40daughter
24:40and two cats.
24:42It's a Victorian terrace
24:44and we've got
24:45all the classic fireplaces
24:46and the original floor tiling
24:49and just all of these
24:50little quirky things
24:51that make it feel unique.
24:54They've been here
24:55two years.
24:56Plenty of time
24:57for Roxy to market
24:58with her own personal style.
25:01I'm a collector
25:02of what my husband
25:02had probably called
25:03tapped
25:04but what I like to call
25:05is like vintage finds.
25:07so I love a picture,
25:08I love a vase,
25:09I love a rug,
25:10a side table.
25:11I've always got stuff
25:13from like vintage shops
25:14and auctions.
25:16Lovely home
25:17and nice things
25:18so why the call
25:19to Angus?
25:20We'll be moving house soon
25:21and I've just decided
25:23to clear
25:24just some little bits
25:25and bobs
25:25that I just didn't want
25:27to kind of take
25:28with us.
25:29Gotcha.
25:30Angus,
25:30it's over to you.
25:32I hope Roxy's in
25:33when we get there.
25:33I always have this,
25:34you know,
25:35horrible vision
25:36that we get to her house
25:37and erm...
25:37Oh, you got the wrong day?
25:38Yeah.
25:40I never really feel sad
25:41to see things go.
25:42It sounds so cheesy
25:43but we don't really
25:44own anything, do we?
25:45We just take care
25:45of objects
25:46and I like lots of objects
25:49but I'm really good
25:50at just giving them away.
25:51Well, you won't be
25:52giving anything away
25:53on Angus's watch, Roxy.
25:55He'll do his best
25:56to make you
25:56a nice pot of cash.
26:00Hi!
26:01How are you doing?
26:02Hi, nice to meet you, Angus.
26:03Charlotte.
26:04Nice to meet you.
26:04Nice to meet you, Charlotte.
26:05Come on in.
26:06We're delighted
26:12to be in York,
26:12aren't we?
26:13Our favourite city.
26:13I fell in love
26:15with York
26:16because I got
26:16my first ever
26:17professional theatre job
26:19here
26:19and I remember
26:20feeling like
26:21it was
26:22it was like a set.
26:23It's so beautiful.
26:25Then when I've got
26:25Emmerdale
26:25eventually
26:26convinced my husband
26:28that we should
26:29relocate to York
26:31and we've really enjoyed it
26:31but we're now moving again.
26:33Okay.
26:33You like to move around.
26:34I do.
26:35I don't mean to
26:35but every house I move into
26:36I'm like,
26:37this one's forever
26:37and then something
26:39will come up
26:40so we're moving
26:41which is one of the reasons
26:42why you guys are here.
26:45Well,
26:45should we have a look around
26:46and see what's potentially to go?
26:47Yeah,
26:47I've got something
26:48that I want to show you.
26:48Brilliant.
26:49Okay.
26:50Charlotte,
26:51prep the van.
26:52First stop for us
26:53is the kitchen.
26:55I wonder what Roxy's
26:56serving up in here.
26:57So,
26:58have a look at this.
27:00It's super sweet.
27:02I bought this
27:02about 20 years ago now.
27:05I've got two of them.
27:06I'm happy for both of them
27:07to go
27:08because I've always struggled
27:09to find a place for them.
27:10The other one's in the attic.
27:11So I think
27:12if they're going to go
27:13they should probably go together.
27:15This is by a local artist
27:16called Jessica Owen
27:18who is known for her scenes
27:20featuring brooding skies.
27:21Art can be tricky
27:23but,
27:24you know,
27:24somebody else is going to love that
27:25like you.
27:26I'm excited to see how that does.
27:28Cool.
27:29Could be a nice lot
27:30when we can find the other one.
27:32The start to a promising day,
27:34methinks.
27:35It's wonderful
27:35to be in York
27:36but also to be with Roxy.
27:38I mean,
27:38she's an absolute delight.
27:40She's definitely got a taste
27:41for the mid-century.
27:42The whole house,
27:43you can see
27:43that sort of vibe
27:44flowing through it.
27:45So,
27:46I think things that don't fit in that
27:47are probably going to come with us.
27:49It'll be interesting to see
27:49what she's got.
27:51Looks like Charlotte's
27:52got her mitts on something already.
27:54Who are you, Charlotte?
27:55Hi, Angus.
27:56I knew you'd find the jewellery, eh?
27:57So, we've got this
27:58smoky quartz cocktail ring.
28:00Lovely.
28:00Which is really nice.
28:01Quite a big stone.
28:02And then,
28:03what I find quite interesting
28:04is it's handmade look to it
28:05with the band
28:06and then stamped 375,
28:08so nine carat gold.
28:10But it looks like
28:10it's set with a diamond there.
28:11OK.
28:12It's a beautiful,
28:13beautiful ring
28:14made by a local jewellery maker
28:16called Dion.
28:18And I've had lots of bits
28:19of the bracelets
28:20that I'm wearing now
28:21he made.
28:21But it's just a bit too big
28:22and hopefully
28:24someone will love it.
28:25Any keen bidders
28:26will likely have to fork out
28:28up to 200 pounds.
28:30These are silver.
28:31OK.
28:32Set with citrine.
28:34Citrines.
28:35See, I like a citrine.
28:36They're really nice,
28:37these aren't they?
28:37Yeah, lovely colours.
28:39Citrine is a semi-precious stone
28:41and a member
28:42of the quartz family.
28:44Depending on its iron content,
28:46it comes in a variety
28:47of shades,
28:48from orangey-brown
28:50to yellow,
28:51like Roxy's earrings,
28:52which could make
28:53around 50 pounds.
28:55These are quite modern,
28:56like the ring.
28:57Well, well done.
28:58Good find.
28:58Excellent.
29:00While Charlotte
29:00boxes up the bling,
29:02Angus is looking
29:03for something else
29:04to, er,
29:05round up onto his van.
29:07I mean,
29:07most people
29:08will be looking at that
29:08and going,
29:09oh, what Emmerdale.
29:09I'm looking at it
29:10and going,
29:10that's a good
29:11Swaledale ram
29:12is that good
29:12Yorkshire sheep.
29:14Roxy,
29:15found your ram.
29:16Oh,
29:17the Emmerdale sheep.
29:19Yeah.
29:20So this is really
29:21special, actually.
29:22This is given
29:23to anyone
29:24that leaves the show
29:24that's been there
29:25for a certain amount
29:27of time
29:27because I was there
29:28for 16 years.
29:30And did you always
29:30know it was going
29:31to be that long
29:31or was initially
29:32it just a...
29:32No, I remember
29:33when I started,
29:33my friend Matthew
29:34Wolfenden,
29:35who was on the show
29:37and he said
29:38he'd been there
29:38three years
29:39and then,
29:40you know,
29:4016 years later
29:41I'm crying sad tears
29:43because I'm leaving.
29:44This precious memento
29:46is going nowhere.
29:47You've also done
29:48some ice skating.
29:50Dancing on ice
29:51was absolutely terrifying.
29:53I genuinely thought
29:54I might die.
29:56Thankfully,
29:57Roxy survived
29:58her 2024 stint
30:00on dancing on ice
30:01unscathed.
30:02So future
30:03doesn't involve skating?
30:04Not at all.
30:05Understood.
30:06But we
30:07need to get
30:08our skates on.
30:09What's next?
30:11Oh my word,
30:12look at that.
30:12This is
30:14Leila's jacket
30:15and it's one
30:16of the things
30:16that I took
30:17to remember
30:17the character
30:18by when I left
30:19the show
30:20because it's
30:21so vibrant
30:22and it really
30:23sums it up.
30:24But I'm never
30:25going to wear it.
30:26This fuchsia
30:27jacket-cum-cape
30:28worn by Roxy
30:29on Emmerdale
30:30is from London
30:31fashion house
30:32Ted Baker.
30:33Most importantly,
30:34memorabilia,
30:35is Providence.
30:36Is it genuine?
30:37Obviously,
30:37we know it is
30:37because it's come
30:38from you.
30:38And I think
30:40in its own right
30:40it's a nice thing.
30:41There'll be a lot
30:42of ladies
30:42who'd love that
30:43regardless.
30:43So I think
30:44you get a couple
30:45of markets there.
30:45You'd definitely sell.
30:46Lovely bit
30:47of clobber
30:48there, Roxy.
30:49Anything else?
30:50I may buy
30:51a lot of vintage
30:52bits and bobs
30:53but my husband
30:54buys shirts.
30:55He's got so many shirts
30:56and I'm just so glad
30:57that he's parting
30:58with two of them.
30:59This one's match-worn,
31:0081.
31:01So in the prime
31:02of Nottingham Forest.
31:03Exactly.
31:04Late 70s, 80s.
31:05Between 1978
31:07and 1982
31:08under legendary
31:10manager Brian Clough
31:11Nottingham Forest
31:13won one league title,
31:14two league cups
31:15and two European cups.
31:18My husband's
31:18from Nottingham
31:19and he's supported
31:20them ever since
31:21he was very,
31:22very small
31:22and the money
31:23that he gets
31:24from these
31:24he's going to dedicate
31:26to a Nottingham
31:27charity called
31:28Headway
31:28which is an
31:30organisation
31:30that supports
31:32people that have
31:32been rehabilitated
31:33from brain injuries
31:35and stuff.
31:36Yeah, we'll take
31:37those and hopefully
31:37we'll get a good
31:38result on those
31:38and help a charity out.
31:40Fantastic.
31:42Vintage footy shirts
31:43always do well
31:44and as a single
31:45lot, this pair
31:46could score big
31:47on auction day.
31:49Yes.
31:49This is really nice
31:50but it's just
31:52not for me.
31:53Okay.
31:53I know that the artist
31:54is local
31:54and I just feel
31:56like it could find
31:58a new home.
32:00The portrait
32:00of David Bowie
32:01is by Manchester-based
32:03artist Trafford Parsons.
32:05I think it will sell.
32:06Definitely a following
32:07for it.
32:08It's temporary artwork
32:08but we'll be all right.
32:09I'll find Charlotte
32:10and we'll start
32:11getting loaded up.
32:11Perfect.
32:12It's time to get
32:13all Roxy's bits
32:14gathered together.
32:16Wrapped,
32:17packed
32:18and loaded up.
32:20Are we going to go
32:20for it?
32:21Yeah.
32:22Including this late
32:2320th century
32:24pine dressing table.
32:26It looked good
32:26and you'll need
32:26flatness.
32:27I was thinking that.
32:28Oh yeah,
32:29don't forget that
32:30other Jessica Owen
32:31painting.
32:32Is that the picture?
32:33Yeah.
32:34Combined,
32:34the two artworks
32:36could bring in
32:3650 quid
32:37and once they're
32:38on the van
32:39it's job done.
32:43Looks like it's been
32:44a tiring day
32:45for everyone.
32:46See you asleep.
32:48Mr Lillie.
32:49It's had a long day.
32:49He has.
32:50There's lots of
32:51action today.
32:52Well we're all
32:53loaded up aren't we
32:53Charlotte?
32:54Yeah.
32:54Fantastic.
32:55So excited for the
32:56auction?
32:57Yeah I'm really
32:57looking forward to it
32:58actually.
32:58I hope all the bits
32:59do well.
33:00It'll be nice
33:00because then I can
33:01use that money
33:02to buy more stuff
33:02on the day.
33:03So the better I do
33:04for you the better
33:04you'll do for me.
33:05Exactly.
33:06I think that's a good
33:07way to go into it.
33:07Well on that note
33:08we'll head down the road
33:10not far to go.
33:10Lovely.
33:11And we'll see you soon.
33:12Well thank you so much
33:13it's been really nice
33:14haven't you guys.
33:14It's been a lovely day.
33:15Thank you very much.
33:16Right I'll see you out.
33:18Small load but do you
33:19know what I really
33:20enjoyed today?
33:21I mean the two
33:21standout items
33:23value wise potentially
33:24are a husband's
33:25football shirts.
33:26Hopefully we can get
33:27a good result on those
33:28because that's probably
33:29the bit that means the
33:30most it's going to go
33:31to charity.
33:32And they're doing well
33:32at the moment so maybe
33:33now is the right time
33:34to sell them.
33:35All we need now is a
33:36cup winning performance
33:38from your team Angus
33:39followed by an extra
33:40time winner from you
33:42on the rostrum.
33:43Safe travels.
34:02Hi Molly.
34:03You alright?
34:04Yeah I'm good thank you.
34:05Good.
34:06Roxy's goodies have
34:07landed in Kirby Moorside.
34:11This dressing table
34:12she quite likes buying
34:13second hand vintage
34:14stuff a lot.
34:16Not a full van load
34:17by any stretch but
34:18there are more than
34:1930 items.
34:21What do you reckon?
34:21Just your colour Angus.
34:23Quite nice.
34:24Is that everything?
34:24Yeah a little job but
34:26it was local.
34:27Brilliant thank you very
34:28much.
34:29Over the next few days
34:32the team start the process
34:34of cataloguing it all
34:35in time for auction.
34:37Hi Millie.
34:38Hi.
34:38And what have you found
34:39here?
34:40This is probably a lamp
34:41table in I would say
34:43probably a Hollywood
34:43Regency style.
34:44Looks like it doesn't
34:45it yeah?
34:46This is very exemplary of
34:47like a Hollywood Regency
34:48style.
34:48It's like very over the top
34:50sort of pulling from the
34:51Gilded Age in America
34:53and then also sort of the
34:54Georgian period.
34:55Hollywood Regency was a
34:57lavish mid-century interior
34:59design trend that drew
35:01inspiration from the
35:03ornate Rococo stylings of
35:05the 18th century.
35:06Something like this is very
35:07on trend at the moment I
35:08think Hollywood Regency
35:10is back in and in
35:11interiors in general people
35:12are mixing a lot more.
35:13We think this is going to
35:14fly do we?
35:14I think it's definitely a
35:15statement piece.
35:16I think something like this
35:17being a statement piece is
35:17very nice because it's not
35:18overpowering to the rest of
35:19the room and I think it
35:21would fit in with a lot of
35:22different styles of
35:23furniture as well.
35:24I've put 40 to 60 on it
35:25but I think it might do a
35:27little bit more.
35:28We'll see on the day.
35:29Right?
35:30Thanks.
35:37I will definitely buy
35:38stuff today.
35:39I will be spending more
35:40than I'm making for sure.
35:41Roxy's come with friend
35:43and podcasting co-host
35:45Matthew Wolfenden who
35:47also starred alongside
35:48Roxy as David Metcalfe
35:50in Emmerdale.
35:51Morning.
35:52How are we doing?
35:53Nice to meet you.
35:54How are we feeling?
35:56I'm genuinely very excited
35:59about the auction today.
36:00Yeah.
36:01I'm excited.
36:01I love an auction room.
36:02Tell Angus about when you
36:03used to do your thing.
36:05Oh I used to work at an
36:06auction house down in Chelsea.
36:07So yeah way back in the day
36:09and I was the lad that
36:10stood there.
36:11The porter.
36:11Showing here.
36:12Yeah.
36:12I had to shout.
36:13Yeah.
36:13And I need a job actually.
36:15Yeah.
36:16Come on.
36:17Come and have a look round.
36:18Play your cards right today
36:20Matthew.
36:21Angus can always use a
36:22strapping lad like you.
36:25Ooh.
36:26Here we are.
36:27Oh my gosh.
36:30Should we buy that?
36:31That's how we can get back
36:32to Harrogate on that today.
36:35I can't wait to see
36:36Roxy in the sailroom.
36:37You know she's such a bag of
36:39energy and I think she's
36:41really going to enjoy it.
36:41This is the David Bowie
36:42picture that you offered
36:44to give to me isn't it?
36:45Yeah I was going to give you
36:46that as a housewarming
36:47when you moved.
36:47And now I've turned up
36:48and you've put it in an
36:49auction so I'm going to
36:50have to buy it now.
36:51Oh yeah I do.
36:52At least I don't get some
36:53money.
36:54Flipping heck.
36:55Not a lot of items but a
36:56few interesting bits.
36:58I think the main lot really
36:59is those football shirts
37:00and the money's going to
37:01charity so we're going to
37:02do well on those.
37:03This one was match
37:04worn.
37:05Match worn.
37:06Forest Hay Day.
37:07Yeah you can tell.
37:09I think we might struggle
37:10with one or two bits but
37:11we will do our best and
37:13we'll have fun and I'm
37:14sure Roxy and Matthew
37:16will definitely bring the
37:17fun.
37:18This is wonderful.
37:19This is Layla's jacket
37:20and clearly it is
37:21wonderful but I think it's
37:23going to go for a pretty
37:24price.
37:24I think it is.
37:25Were you interested in
37:27the character Layla in
37:28Emmerdale?
37:29No.
37:31They're probably Corrie
37:33fans Matthew but there
37:35could be an Emmerdale
37:36connoisseur or two lurking
37:38among this lot.
37:39Keeping tabs on internet
37:41bids are Jasper and
37:42Charlotte so with our two
37:44soap stars in position
37:45let's see if Angus can
37:47deliver them a clean sweep.
37:50Because I'm a Yorkshireman
37:51of a Scottish name I like
37:52to get a good deal so we've
37:54actually got two slubs for the
37:55price of one haven't we?
37:57First up it's the gold
37:58cocktail ring with a smoky
38:00quartz stone that Roxy bought
38:02from a York jewellery
38:03designer.
38:04That's a lovely thing isn't it?
38:05There we go.
38:06I've got 80 pound bid.
38:0780 let's go now at 80 pounds
38:09it is.
38:0980 pounds for the gold
38:09cocktail ring there.
38:1085 85.
38:1185 90.
38:1290 pound a bid then at 90.
38:135.
38:1495 at 95.
38:15100 at 100 pound a bid.
38:16At 100 pounds.
38:18110 thank you.
38:19At 110.
38:19At 110.
38:20At 110.
38:22At 110.
38:22Ring-a-ding-ding.
38:25We're off the mark.
38:27Yes!
38:29And when the silver earrings
38:31set with citrine also by the
38:33same designer come under the
38:35gavel.
38:36At 50 pounds.
38:39They hit their top estimate.
38:42Not bad that.
38:43A little birdie told me Matthew
38:45you used to be a porter in a
38:46sailor.
38:47I absolutely did.
38:47Yeah well go on.
38:49Yay!
38:50Go on we'll get you lifting the
38:52things up.
38:53Unfortunately for Matthew the
38:54lot he's got to help shift is
38:56that David Bowie portrait by
38:58Trafford Parsons.
39:00It was supposed to be his
39:01housewarming present.
39:02Yeah.
39:04There we go where should it be.
39:0580 pounds start me at 80
39:06pounder.
39:0680 pound for the artwork there.
39:0880 at 80 pounder.
39:08Come on.
39:095.
39:0985.
39:1085.
39:1190.
39:115.
39:12100.
39:12110.
39:13120.
39:14120 it is then at 120 pounds.
39:16This could have been yours Matthew
39:17couldn't it?
39:17Could have been mine.
39:18Now 120 all done at 120.
39:22The man who sold the world has
39:24been sold to a man in Wigan.
39:26Someone got a bargain I think
39:28there.
39:28I'd have got a bargain if you'd
39:29have given it me like you
39:30after.
39:30But when the two miniature
39:32seascapes by artist Jessica
39:34Owen come up next.
39:3650 pounds start me at 50 pounds at 50.
39:39It's just not their day.
39:41At 50 pounds.
39:42So Angus puts them aside for a future
39:44auction.
39:45We'll pass those.
39:49Can he steer things back on course
39:51with the next slot?
39:52Roxy you can model this.
39:54I'll go get it.
39:55No you model it Matthew.
39:56Looks better on you.
39:58You wore this on Emmerdale didn't
39:59you?
39:59This is Leila's jacket.
40:01As you can see that colour really
40:02just pops on Matthew.
40:03Doesn't it lift him now?
40:05Is there any Emmerdale fans in the
40:07room?
40:08Oh yes.
40:09Yes.
40:10We've got one.
40:11We've got one.
40:12Yes.
40:13You can have a bit of Emmerdale
40:14history.
40:15Here we go.
40:1630 pound a bit of 30 pound at
40:1830 at 30 pound.
40:19Let's go.
40:19This is a bit of TV history.
40:212, 2, 2.
40:21We're off 32.
40:22Thank goodness for the
40:23internet.
40:2345, 38, 42, 5, 8, 50, 50.
40:27It's at 50 it is then for
40:29Leila's cape.
40:30It's alright that.
40:3150 selling at 50.
40:33Snapped up by a snappy
40:35dresser in Salford.
40:36That's alright for a
40:37Jackie.
40:37That's alright.
40:38For a Jackie you're
40:38nicked.
40:39From work isn't it?
40:40Yeah.
40:42No need for Matthew's
40:43modelling skills any longer as
40:45Angus rapidly sees off five
40:48more lots including.
40:4945.
40:51The late 20th century pine
40:53dressing table.
40:54At 30 pounds.
40:56The Hollywood Regency
40:59mid-century lamp table and
41:01I'm going to sell at 40
41:03pounds.
41:05A modern Italian made
41:07Chinese style vase.
41:10Boom.
41:11Oh wow.
41:12That's done well.
41:14Which sees this auction
41:15round the final bend and
41:17enter the home straight.
41:19The two Nottingham Forest
41:201980s football shirts.
41:23One was player worn.
41:23But let's go 220, 230, 240, 250,
41:27260, 270, 280, 290, 300,
41:30320, 340, 360, 380.
41:33400 pounds I have at 400 and
41:35bid.
41:35At 400, 420 fresh bid.
41:37At 420.
41:38At 420, 440 thank you.
41:41440 it is.
41:42We're all done.
41:43460 back in at 460 it is
41:45then selling at 460.
41:48At the end of the day the
41:50boys played a blinder.
41:51Well done.
41:53That was good.
41:54Yeah.
41:55That's you done.
41:56Short sweater.
41:57With the footy shirts nearly
41:58doubling their top estimate,
42:00Angus has netted Roxy a
42:02sizeable sum for charity.
42:04But what's the final score I
42:06wonder?
42:06Well you can ask it yourself
42:07every year.
42:08I'm sorry if I interrupted you
42:10a lot.
42:11She's telling me off here.
42:12It's great.
42:12It's quite chatty for a
42:13porter wasn't he?
42:14He was but you know what I
42:15loved it.
42:15You two were just so
42:16excitable and you know just
42:17brought this energy to the
42:18room.
42:19I think it's great.
42:19I think it's your energy
42:20though.
42:21Yeah.
42:21It's fantastic seeing you up
42:22there.
42:22With all the, you're like a
42:23little rapper.
42:24The rapping auction here.
42:25Yeah.
42:25Mmm.
42:25Couple of lots didn't go.
42:28Pictures but that's fine.
42:30Yeah.
42:30That's okay.
