00:21Members of U.S. Congress are pressuring the Donald Trump administration to clarify the military attacks on alleged drug trafficking boats in the Caribbean.
00:30A Honduran presidential candidate for the Libre Party, Risi Moncada, reaffirmed that bipartisanship and foreign interference impose a manipulated result that they will expose and denounce.
00:47Hello, welcome from the South. I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Telesu Studios in Havana, Cuba. We begin with the news.
01:00The Venezuelan capital became the stage for the swearing of the Bolivarian Integral Community Commands, a new grassroots model designed to deepen popular power and strengthen citizens' organization.
01:17Our colleague Andrea Romero has the details.
01:20The day began with the mobilization of thousands of Venezuelans through the streets of downtown Caracas, joining the 47,000 Bolivarian Integral Community Commands, the new organized body created to empower the people and strengthen unity in every community in coordination with the United Socialist Party of Venezuela.
01:40The participants expressed their enthusiasm for this new organizational phase, which brings street leaders into the formation of grassroots committees and community leaders into the new commands, allowing citizens themselves to take on the planning, execution, and management of projects.
02:04It's a good organization, another one to add, because all the ones we have are good.
02:14Here we will have more people united, more united fighters, more people attentive to what we are doing, attentive to our surroundings, attentive to everything, because we are carrying peace, we are carrying unity.
02:27We will be working directly within our communities.
02:34We don't have to go to municipal councils or mayor's offices.
02:37We ourselves will develop power projects inside our own communities.
02:40The focal point of the mobilization was the Miraflars Palace, where President Nicolas Maduro welcomed the commands and proceeded with the swearing and ceremony.
02:52I swear it forever.
02:53You are hereby officially sworn in as unified command committees of integral grassroots communities throughout the country.
03:05The newly established community commands receive the guidelines and the main responsibilities they will be expected to assume.
03:20What must a community command do?
03:26Immediately organize the network of grassroots committees assigned to each command review the point and circle plan, as well as the circles of security.
03:35Defense, and production examine all community plans to support public education, public health, and public works, draw up the plan, and put it into action.
03:56The national leader concluded the event by reaffirming the Venezuelan people's commitment to a sovereign peace, built through unity and the defense of national dignity, despite facing 22 weeks of imperialist aggression.
04:15We want peace, but peace with sovereignty, peace with equality, peace with freedom.
04:26We do not want the peace of slaves, nor the peace of colonies.
04:30We want the peace of colonies, never a colony, never slaves.
04:39Freedom, republic, peace with dignity, that is the peace we will preserve, that is the peace we will achieve.
04:46Through assemblies held from Thursday, November 27th, to Saturday, November 29th, the members of these structures were defined.
05:01They will serve as a vital tool for deepening the revolution and consolidating popular power.
05:06Desde Caracas, en la cámara de Jesús Romero, para Telesur, Andrea Romero.
05:13In the United States, members of Congress, both Republicans and Democrats, are pressuring the Donald Trump administration to clarify the military attacks on alleged drug trafficking votes in the Caribbean.
05:22A report published in the U.S. media suggests that the Department of Defense may have authorized the commission of war crimes.
05:28In this scenario, the White House was forced to acknowledge that a second attack on a vessel that had already been intercepted would have killed some of the survivors.
05:35However, Secretary of Defense Pete Hexeth never released the video of this attack.
05:40Alerts about the legality of the alleged anti-drug operation in the Caribbean have multiplied, so Congress is demanding answers from Secretary Hexeth.
05:48Meanwhile, the leader of the Senate Democrats, Chuck Schumer, has assured that they will block any escalation against Venezuela.
05:55The Prime Minister of St. Lucia, Philip J. Pierre, reaffirmed the defense of the Caribbean region as a son of peace.
06:10Do you work for Latin America for the five years that come now?
06:13Yes, as I told you last time I spoke to you, we believe in the affairs of the country must be done by the country itself.
06:23So we're not getting involved in that. We want the region to be a zone of peace. We maintain our position on the region of being a zone of peace.
06:30Thank you so much, Prime Minister, and congratulations.
06:32Thank you very much.
06:33Precisely, Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre, leader of the St. Lucia Labour Party, was reelected on Monday as the country held general elections.
06:42More details on the significant day with our Special Envoy Belen de los Santos.
06:46St. Lucia went to the polls this Monday to elect the Parliament representatives and Prime Minister for the next five years.
06:53When polls opened at 6.30 a.m., many were already waiting in line.
06:59The turnout seemed to be up in numbers. Everybody seemed very enthusiastic. And as you can see, the democratic process is working very fine.
07:09The future of the generation to come. So we're voting for the future of our kids and our grandkids.
07:17Spirits remained high throughout the day, with many participants in the electoral process pointing to the importance of democracy for St. Lucia's.
07:26Election Day means everything to St. Lucia, from the baby growing up to the elderly. That's what it means. And it means heart and soul to the people. That's what Election Day means. Yes.
07:40A few hours after the polls closed, the hopes of many were confirmed and the celebration failed the streets.
07:47The St. Lucia Labour Party, that since 2021 had sought growth through strong social measures, bowing to put the people first, obtained a new landslide victory of 14 to 1 over the right-wing opposition.
08:07The Prime Minister is a very loving man. He's a humble person. He's an honest person. And he works for the people of our country. So that's one of the main reasons why we voted for him back for the second time in office.
08:24Can you run a country putting people first? Yeah, you can run a country putting people first. Because I mean, without the people, you're not there. You're nowhere without the people. And the poor people is the one that's bringing you up.
08:39In the midst of the celebration, re-elected Prime Minister Philip Pierre came out to the streets of his own neighborhood, Castro East East, to walk alongside his own people. A powerful image that sets the tone for the years to come.
08:54And we're very happy about it. You see, the people are celebrating. It's a very, it's a very important time for us, for the people. I want to thank God for them for giving us that result in the future.
09:11Belén de los Santos, Marcos da Silva, from St. Lucia, for Tell Us Your English.
09:15In this context, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro congratulated the people of St. Lucia for an outstanding example of democracy in Monday's general elections.
09:24On his social media, the president wrote,
09:26The people of St. Lucia spoke loudly and clearly, confirming and opposed the leadership of Prime Minister Philip Pierre and the path of social justice that he has sheltered together with the Labour Party.
09:35I congratulate with respect and admiration this democratic victory, which honors the will of the people and strengthens hope for a sovereign, dignified and united Caribbean.
09:45The president continued, From Venezuela, we celebrate this new term alongside our brothers and sisters in St. Lucia, confident that the bond between our peoples will continue to grow based on cooperation, respect and a shared vision of peace and prosperity.
10:00Long live the sovereignty of the peoples of the Caribbean.

10:38Honduran presidential candidate for the Liberal Party, Risi Moncada, declared on Monday night the elections are not yet lost.
10:44The candidate reaffirmed that bipartisanship and foreign interference imposed a manipulated result that they will expose and denounce.
10:51During her first press conference since the National Electoral Council announced the results, the progressive candidate reiterated her denunciation of foreign interference and data manipulation.
11:01She pointed out that the transmission of preliminary electoral results had been tampered with, as already alleged in 26 audio recordings released during the campaign by the National Party and the Liberal Party.
11:12Presenting certain data, the candidate highlighted the unreliability of the Electoral Council after explaining that she called the bipartisan trap.
11:19She announced the start of a peaceful process of resistance and vowed to demand a review of the tally sheets within the 30 working days established by law in defense of the real sovereignty of the Honduran people.
11:31I know I am not alone. I know my people accompany me with deep conviction. That is why I speak to you today.
11:54Honduran people, the elections are not lost.
11:57No están perdidas.
11:59El bipartidismo nos impuso su trama electoral siguiendo la trampa de velada en los 26 audios.
12:16Bipartisanship has imposed its electoral scheme following the plot revealed in the 26 audios, adulterating the preliminary results transmission system and the biometric system.
12:33The President of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, who, in a few hours of the elections, announced the absolute pardon to the narcotraficant.
12:51Juan Orlando Hernández, a drug trafficker sentenced by their own courts as the chief operator, who organized a criminal cartel to traffic drugs into the United States.
13:18President Moncada once again rejected what she described as the grave act of interference by U.S. President Donald Trump.
13:32In an unprecedented act in our history, the U.S. President Donald Trump condemns and threatens me for my participation, recognizing me as the principal opponent and declaring to Ripsy that the intelligent people of Honduras would reject me.
13:52He said he could not collaborate with Moncada and the communists, which, without a doubt, was understood by the people as coercion if their vote favored me.
14:14Of course, I will maintain my positions and I will not surrender.
14:33I will always stand with the people, with my values firm in the defense of my free homeland and the principles of non-interference and popular sovereignty.
14:43And U.S. President Donald Trump continues his aggressive interference in Honduras and threatens punishment if the announced election results change.
14:57On Truth Social, Trump issued a direct warning to Honduras National Electoral Council, demanding that the count continue under its own conditions and making it clear that any change in the trends could trigger retaliation.
15:08The U.S. President affirmed that the United States will not support Honduras or allocate resources if the next president does not agree with its political agenda.
15:17President Trump insists on intimidating a sovereign country while clear regularities are known and the period for filing claims and objections are under current law is still open.

16:09In Mexico, remittance income from the United States continues to decline.
16:12According to a report from the bank, these figures are partly a result of the effects of the immigration policies implemented by President Donald Trump and the trade war, which has driven up the cost of living.
16:23Antonio Aranda has the details.
16:26Las remesas son la principal fuente de divisas para remittances.
16:29Remittances are Mexico's main source of foreign currency, but from January to October 2025, they showed a year-on-year decline of 5.1%.
16:38People who receive these funds have felt the impact of the decrease in their daily lives, explains this pro-migrant activist.
16:51People stop buying medicines, stop going out, stop doing what they used to do, because poverty is really hitting us.
16:57It is a factor in the community.
17:00We see fewer celebrations, fewer gifts for the children.
17:03I can assure you with certainty that this Christmas will be said, and so will be the new year.
17:08Esta Navidad nace a triste, y el año nuevo.
17:12President Donald Trump's immigration policies have caused fear among this segment of the population, leading many to hide, which prevents them from working and sending money to their families.
17:24They are afraid to go out on work, and they are eating up the little savings they managed to have over there.
17:32Secondly, they have to cover their own expenses in the United States before sending money to Mexico.
17:41This kind of situation, wars and things, both there and here, the level of uncertainty is the fear that ICE or immigration will catch them while they are leaving their homes.
17:50In 2024, remittances reached a historic record in Mexico, totaling $64 billion.
18:02By the end of October this year, the figure stood at $51.34 billion, and this expert predicts it will continue to decline.
18:11And this decline is not really a fall, it is an adjustment.
18:192024 was an unusual high peak.
18:26Precisely because, given the changes and the usual threat from Trump, many rushed to send money in advance.
18:31Another factor contributing to the decline in remittances is the impact of the trade war initiated by Donald Trump, which has driven up the cost of everyday life.
18:46The US economy is also in crisis, meaning it has been slowing down, and the effects of trade war have impact on something.
18:55Therefore, as life becomes more expensive in the United States, there are a few outflows of currency towards Latin America, particularly to Mexico.
19:11To support the swift sending of remittances, the Mexican government is promoting the distribution of bank cards from Financiera del BINASTAR, a state-run program.
19:22These cards allow transfers with the lowest fees in the market, according to the director of the institution.
19:31Sending money from there to here, as you well know, we've already lowered the commission from $3.99, which was already very competitive, to just $2.99.
19:40If you send $400, which is the average remittance amount, or even if you send $1,000, or up to $2,500 in one transfer, you won't pay more than $2.99.
19:50This is a very strong support that our government is providing.
19:56Además, usar las tarjetas de financiera del BINASTAR cards will allow migrants to avoid the 1% remittance tax that the United States will impose starting January 1, 2026.
20:10Antonio Aranda, Telesur, Ciudad de México.
20:13At least 12 people died on Monday after two passenger boats capsized when a block of earth from the bank of one of the main rivers in the Peruvian Amazon collapsed into the water.
20:36According to authorities at the National Civil Defense Emergency Operations Center, the accident occurred on the Ucayali River in the early hours of the morning near the port of Ipatia.
20:46The Mobile Emergency Care System and Public Service Emergencies say that 20 injured people were treated after being rescued from the waters of the giant river.
20:56Officials said the total number of passengers remains undetermined as many of these boats operated informally and exceeded the maximum number of passengers allowed.
21:05Southeast Asia is facing a severe humanitarian crisis due to intense rains and storms, a phenomenon that reflects the region's growing vulnerability to climate change and leaves millions of people at risk.
21:25Our correspondent in China, Bruno Falsi, has the details.
21:29...of Telesur and all the audience watching us in this transmission.
21:35I am in Beijing now.
21:37It's time to report on the devastating impact of the intense rains affecting Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Thailand.
21:47This simultaneously.
21:48So far, more than a thousand deaths have been reported, but authorities warn that these numbers could rise even more, as hundreds of people remain missing and several communities are still cut off.
22:05The greatest loss are concentrated in Indonesia, especially on the island of Sumatra, with several hundreds dead and more than 50,000 people evacuating.
22:20Sri Lanka, floods and landslides caused by the cyclone left 100 deaths, and more than 30,000 people are in temporary shelters.
22:32In Malaysia, Malaysia and Thailand, dozens of people died, and thousands of people were forced to leave their homes, affecting tens of thousands of people's war.
22:46The waters continue to rise in several low-lying areas and along the riverbanks, while damaged roads and bridges are hindering the delivery of aid.
22:58The rescue team and military forces are working against the clock to set those effects to help and assist the affected, locate missing persons, and restore essential services.
23:13This disaster highlighted the region's growing climate vulnerability, where extreme weather events are intensified due to the global warming,
23:25and underscores the urgent need for prevention, adaptation, and social assistance strategy to protect the people more vulnerable.
23:35This news, from here, the capital of China, will go back to the studios in La Habana, Cuba.
