00:00On top of the disappointing play on field that led to the Mets' demise last season,

00:07there were some off-the-field issues that perhaps contributed. We reported late last week Francisco

00:14Lindor and Jeff McNeil had a run-in June 20th in Philadelphia. A defensive play wasn't made.

00:20Lindor was the aggressor in this one, I was told. Very angry about a play that wasn't made.

00:27It got heated between he and McNeil, some tense moments. No punches were thrown, or no physical contact.

00:36That's a difference from 2021 when these two clashed following a defensive miscommunication.

00:45That time Lindor grabbed McNeil by the throat and pinned him up against the wall in the tunnel outside the dugout.

00:52Also, in our story that ran in Saturday's post, we mentioned that Lindor and Juan Soto

01:00had what was described to me from a source as a chilly relationship.

01:07Two different individuals. They didn't interact much.

01:11And maybe some comments Soto made to me late in the season shed some light on that,

01:16where he referred to Marte as the real leader, the starling Marte, that is, as the leader of the team,

01:23you know, the captain. And, you know, that seems to undermine Lindor a little bit,

01:28who's always been kind of looked at as the de facto captain here.

01:32You know, I think there were some suspicions all along that this Mets clubhouse wasn't great.
