00:00Trump underwater on basically every issue.
00:03CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten recently said that President Donald Trump is performing poorly in polls across nearly every major policy area.
00:13News.com has learned that Trump's numbers have been especially dreadful on the handling of recently released Jeffrey Epstein documents.
00:21Enten said President Trump's approval is slipping on almost every issue he campaigned on in 2024, including the economy and immigration.
00:30Donald Trump is underwater on basically every single issue he ran on in 2024.
00:35But the Epstein files, the Epstein case, are especially dreadful for him, he said.
00:41According to aggregated polling presented on air, Trump holds a net negative approval of five points on immigration and 18 points on the economy.
00:49On Epstein related matters, however, his approval drops to a negative 39 points.
00:55My goodness gracious, what Donald Trump has been selling on the Epstein files, the Epstein case, the American people simply put, have not been buying at all, Enten added.
01:05Enten highlighted a Marist University poll from September, which showed that even Republican voters appear uneasy.
01:11While Trump retains strong intraparty support, 87 percent overall job approval, only 45 percent approve of his handling of Epstein developments.
01:22The findings suggest that the issue may be cutting across partisan lines more sharply than other controversies linked to the president.
01:29Epstein died in 2019 awaiting trial, and Ghislaine Maxwell is serving 20 years.
01:34Trump's Justice Department faced criticism for claiming no evidence linked Epstein to high-profile associates, and prolonged media attention increases the political fallout.
01:44The more that this case is in the news, the worse it is for Donald Trump.
01:48It is his worst issue by far, he said.
01:51Recently released documents related to Epstein mention Trump by name, raising questions about his personal and political ties to Epstein, though they do not directly implicate him in any crimes.
02:02The White House has responded sharply, accusing Democrats and major news outlets of spreading a fake narrative intended to embarrass the president ahead of policy battles on Capitol Hill.
