Transcript
00:00all right guys i want to tell you about ruby then tell us okay so ruby is a was a seventh grader
00:08at a middle school in texas okay and she's in the lunch line and the young boy in front of her
00:16ended up getting a reduced lunch not a reduced priced lunch a reduced lunch because he didn't
00:23have enough money in his account to cover it and she was like that stinks like that kid's probably
00:28just as hungry as i am so she did a little research and it turns out that happens all the time in her
00:33school when the funds get low they just give the kids less food they don't make them go hungry but
00:40they don't they don't get the full lunch um because so many people have a hard time paying those lunch
00:46bills right so ruby was like i've got to do something about this so she came up with what
00:51she calls lunch line candles she makes her own candles that are in the shape of desserts
00:56and she sells them and so she's been doing this since seventh grade she's now a junior in high
01:02school she sells these candles every candle pays for a lunch for a student in her school that can't
01:11otherwise can't afford it and she has gotten like 10 000 kids out of debt oh my god yeah isn't that
01:21insane how do you how do you think of that it's so smart like and i don't want to jump this far
01:28because you have a a senior in high school at your house and not that this is why she's doing it what
01:34it's about but if i'm like a college recruiter and someone writes a college essay about hey i've been
01:39doing this since the seventh grade oh yeah like that that is such an amazing kid credit to the parents
01:44for raising such a great daughter and having a senior in high school i can tell you that doesn't
01:49cross their minds at all like as adults we see the benefit of that but as kids they don't like
01:56it didn't cross my mind at 13 right absolutely not yeah and and so bravo ruby just bravo
