The co-host had been absent from the CBS daytime talk show since her husband, former CBS CEO Leslie Moonves, resigned from the network after facing multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.

00:00Right now, I need to spend more time at home with my husband and our young son, so I've
00:06decided to leave the talk.
00:09It's official, Julie Chen is leaving the talk.
00:11This news comes after her husband and former CBS CEO Les Moonves resigned as he was facing
00:17numerous sexual misconduct claims.
00:20Chen announced her departure via a pre-taped video at the end of Tuesday's show.
00:24The message was recorded from the set of Big Brother, which Chen also hosts.
00:28After revealing she was leaving the talk to spend more time at home with her family,
00:33Chen appeared choked up as she thanked those who work behind the scenes of the CBS show.
00:37To everyone behind the scenes, I send you my love.
00:42I will miss you all very, very much.
00:45Chen also gave a special shout out to each of her fellow co-hosts.
00:48She handed her message by telling the ladies how proud she is to call them her friends.
00:52And I know this show and the sisterhood it stands for will live on for many, many, many
00:58more years to come.
00:59However, Chen did not address the allegations against her husband in the video.
01:03After the clip ended, co-host Sheryl Underwood was seen wiping away tears.
01:08And guest host Carrie Ann Inaba, who Chen said she thought should replace her on the show,
01:12also looked emotional.
01:14In closing, Sarah Gilbert said,
01:15CBS released a statement about Chen's departure, saying in part that they
01:20Chen is expected to continue to host Big Brother, which is about to wrap up its 20th season.
