00:00Safiyuddin Pakir Mohamad, the homeless migrant worker who was humiliated for sleeping outside
00:06a bank in Kuala Lumpur, will return home to India tomorrow night.
00:11Tony Lian, the founder of two homeless shelters, said Safiyuddin is being housed at a shelter
00:16operated by the Indian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur.
00:20He said the Labor Department and the police interviewed Safiyuddin earlier today for about
00:24three hours.
00:26After the investigation, he took Safiyuddin to the High Commission to facilitate a meeting
00:31with his employer, who agreed to amicably settle Safiyuddin's unpaid salary and buy him a ticket
00:37home.
00:38FMT has reached out to the Labor Department to confirm if the employer will face any action.
00:44Last week, a video showing Safiyuddin being hosed down and kicked outside a bank sparked outreach
00:50on social media, after which Lian rescued him and took him to one of his shelters.
