00:00We now know the next ambitious project to come from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and
00:04D.B. Weiss, but this time it's part of their overall deal with Netflix. The duo will team
00:09up with the Terror Infamy showrunner Alexander Wu to adapt the Hugo Award-winning novel trilogy
00:13The Three-Body Problem, which tells the story of humanity's first contact with an alien
00:18civilization. Benioff and Weiss called the trilogy the most ambitious science fiction
00:22series we've read, taking readers on a journey from the 1960s until the end of time. From life
00:28on our pale blue dot to the distant fringes of the universe. We look forward to spending the next
00:32years of our lives bringing this to life for audiences around the world. Netflix has given
00:36a series order to the project, which also counts Rian Johnson, Rosamund Pike, and Brad Pitt's Plan B
00:42among its executive producers. The Three-Body Problem is the first series order for Benioff
00:46and Weiss since they signed a nine-figure overall deal at Netflix in 2019. Wu, a veteran of True
00:51Blood and WGN America's Manhattan, signed with a streamer earlier in the year. The Three-Body
00:56Problem joins a roster of genre series at Netflix that includes hits like Stranger Things and
01:01The Witcher, among others. For more on this story, head to THR.com. For The Hollywood Reporter
