00:23work with the trilogy's author. The senator just quoted a link the interview the author gave to

00:26The New Yorker in 2019, in which he responded to a question about China's mass internment of

00:31Muslims by saying, would you rather that they be hacking away at bodies at train stations and

00:35schools and terrorist attacks? If anything, the government is helping their economy and trying

00:39to lift them out of poverty. China's brutal treatment of its Muslim minority groups in

00:43Xinjiang has become a flashpoint in Hollywood. The Walt Disney Company came under intense

00:48criticism earlier this month when it was revealed that the studio shot portions of its live-action

00:52adaptation of Mulan within the province, and later thanked local government police and

00:56propaganda agencies in the region in the film's end credits. The three-body problem trilogy is a

01:01global publishing phenomenon. The series has become an international bestseller, translated into

01:06dozens of languages, and praised by critics for its vast scope and originality. The Hollywood
