00:00Harrison Ford is stepping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
00:04Sources have confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the actor is taking on the role of General Ross
00:08and will appear as the character in Captain America New World Order.
00:12The fourth Captain America film stars Anthony Mackie as his longtime Marvel character Sam Wilson.
00:17The movie will take place after the events of the 2021 Marvel and Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,
00:24which saw Wilson accept the shield and mantle of Captain America.
00:27Apart from Captain America New World Order, Ford will also play Ross in Thunderbolts.
00:32General Ross was previously played by the late William Hurt,
00:35who appeared as the character in 2008's Incredible Hulk
00:38and returned for 2016's Captain America Civil War and subsequent Marvel movies.
00:43Prior to that, Sam Elliott played the part in 2003's Hulk.
00:46As for Ford, the actor is no stranger to franchise filmmaking,
00:49starring in both the Star Wars movies and Indiana Jones films for decades.
00:53He is set to reprise his role as the intrepid archaeologist in Indiana Jones 5, due out June 30, 2023.
