00:00Did I win?
00:05No, I won, easily.
00:06This didn't sound right.
00:07Well, that's true.
00:09Thor Ragnarok is tracking for a thunderous opening weekend. The Marvel Studios and Disney movie is
00:14expected to bring in $90 to $100 million in its North American debut over the November 3rd to 5th weekend.
00:21If tracking is correct, the third Thor installment will open ahead of the first Thor, which brought in $65.7 million
00:27debut weekend, and Thor The Dark World, which opened to $85.7 million. And that is no small feat at a time
00:33when many franchise installments are struggling. Chris Hemsworth returns to the title role in the movie directed
00:38by acclaimed New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi. Thor Ragnarok sees the Asgardian god team up with his brother
00:44Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, and his pal Hulk, aka Mark Ruffalo. Together, they must fight the goddess
00:50of death, Hela, played by Cate Blanchett. Idris Elba and Anthony Hopkins also star. And with Waititi at the helm,
00:57the Marvel series takes a lighter, more comedic tone than the previous Thor movies. At the film's world premiere in
01:02Los Angeles earlier this week, Hemsworth opened up to The Hollywood Reporter about the first time he met
01:07Waititi over lunch at a cafe. According to the God of Thunder actor, it felt like a first date. It was pretty awkward.
01:13When THR asked Waititi how the date went on his end, he said,
01:17Well, I don't get awkward. He was probably just very nervous to meet me. You know what they say?
01:22Don't meet your heroes and all. Hemsworth wanted to meet the director after he saw Waititi's
01:262010 movie Boy. The actor remembers, I was like, I'm such a fan. And he was like, yeah, cool.
01:32I haven't seen Thor, but I probably will be a fan. Or maybe I won't. I don't know.
01:36Waititi contends, Well, it all worked out for him, didn't it? I got him in the movie and changed his life.
01:41Thor Ragnarok is the 17th title in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You can catch the film when it hammers into theaters November 3rd.
