00:00More and more actors and actresses continue to come forward with their stories of sexual
00:04harassment and assault in Hollywood following the explosive allegations against Harvey Weinstein.
00:09While some have gone public with their experiences with Amazon Studios' Roy Price,
00:13director James Toback and more, others have left their harasser unnamed.
00:17Joining the growing list sharing such accounts are Anna Faris, Natasha Lyonne and Tony Goldwyn.
00:23Anna Faris recalled on Tuesday's episode of her Unqualified podcast how the vulgar behavior
00:28of an unnamed director made her feel small.
00:42Faris, who was joined by guest Arielle Kebbell on the episode, also added how she suspects
00:46she got that role.
00:47I remember that same director telling my agent, who told me, that I had great legs and that
00:52was one of the reasons that I got hired. And listen, that's a f***ing great compliment.
00:56I like my legs, but that sort of informed my whole experience with that whole project.
01:01I don't think the male lead got hired because he had great legs.
01:04On the subject of why she didn't say anything, Faris pointed out,
01:07we're conditioned to giggle. But also, if we're to do anything else, we'd be labelled a b*** or difficult.
01:12That would be the best of circumstances. I guess what I do is laugh. It puts everyone at ease.
01:17That's a defense mode you go into.
01:19Orange is the new black actress Natasha Lyonne has also spoken out in response to the Me Too
01:23awareness campaign that took Twitter by storm. Lyonne shared her story via Instagram over the
01:28weekend, later thanking her followers for the support with the hashtag.
01:32Lyonne explained she was coming off the big-screen success of 1998's Slums of Beverly Hills
01:37when a filmmaker, whom she identifies only as G, overpowered her, despite her saying the word
01:42no quite clearly. He was making a Janis Joplin biopic and the alleged sexual assault caused
01:47Lyonne to drop out of the running for the part.
01:55The actress says she has been moved by everyone who has come forward and spoke directly to any
02:00woman who has been attacked. I also think of these words of Janis Joplin's to the young girls
02:04unsure if to speak up, in awe of those who already have, and to the teenager inside me still
02:09questioning if my truth is valid enough. Don't compromise yourself. You are all you've got.
02:14And Scandal's Tony Goldwyn has also revealed that he became a victim of the industry casting
02:19couch during his last year of acting school and felt compelled to speak up about the issue
02:23after reading Lupita Nyong'o's op-air for The New York Times, in which she detailed her harrowing
02:28experience with Weinstein. Goldwyn shared that he was horrified and moved by Nyong'o's
02:33story, one of many that have come to light in the wake of numerous sexual harassment and
02:37assault allegations surrounding Weinstein.
02:39"'It happened to me as a young guy, when I was literally Lupita's age. It happened to
02:43me by a man, and it wasn't as extended or awful as what Lupita went through, but it was
02:48the same thing,' said the actor.
02:49"'It was the casting couch, and I didn't understand quite what was going on or what was happening.'"
02:54added Goldwyn,
02:55"'I thought it was my fault. I thought I was misunderstanding the situation, and only
02:59afterwards did I realize what had happened. It took me a couple of years to get over it.
03:03It was similar, and then I got out of the situation. It's something women have to deal
03:07with in every situation, in every industry, with powerful men.'"
03:11On Friday, shortly after Nyong'o's op-ed was published by The Times, Goldwyn tweeted
03:15his support, writing,
03:16"'Women need to know your brothers have your backs. Real men aren't like that. End the silence.'"
