00:00The season 22 premiere of The Bachelor featuring Ari Leyendyk Jr. is just days away,
00:05so it's a good time to take a look back at the last person to hand out roses,
00:08Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay. The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Rachel at her recent
00:13engagement party in L.A. and found out what her post-reality TV life with fiancé Brian Abbasolo
00:19has really been like now that the cameras are finally off.
00:22About four months ago, Bachelor Nation watched this happen.
00:24Brian, a 37-year-old Colombian chiropractor from Miami, Florida, got down on one knee
00:35and proposed to Rachel. After narrowing down the most diverse cast in the history of ABC's
00:40long-running franchise, the 32-year-old lawyer from Dallas, Texas picked Brian,
00:45and the pair remained engaged.
00:47So what has life been like for the couple since Bachelor Nation last saw them on TV?
00:51Rachel told THR's Christina Shelkoff,
00:53Being engaged, not that I didn't see it happening for me. I just didn't see it being so easy and effortless.
00:59It started off as a fairy tale, but the way that Brian and I are with each other,
01:03it's like I found my best friend that I'm in love with at the same time, and that's so hard to find,
01:07especially on TV," she added.
01:09I tell everyone, Brian's the easy part. Now we're trying to blend our lives together,
01:14but being with Brian? Effortless.
01:16As for blending their lives together, Rachel revealed that she and Brian are both maintaining their same jobs,
01:21but they are still trying to figure out where they will settle down. She says Dallas, Miami, and LA are all possible options.
01:28Brian actually just got licensed in Texas, and then he's working on finishing the ethics part in California,
01:33because we are trying to keep our options open. I still practice part-time with my firm,
01:38Cooper & Scully PC, in Dallas. They've been amazing in allowing me to have the flexibility to come in and out and work remotely.
01:44Now, a wedding date hasn't been set yet, but Rachel says she'd definitely like to get married in 2018.
01:49She even spilled some wedding details. For a wedding color, she's thinking gold.
01:53And as far as flowers go, there will be flowers. There will not be red roses.
01:58Rachel also revealed that she wants to do something different and wear a suit for her wedding.
02:02Maybe a high-waisted pant, maybe satin, wide-legged, a lace underneath. Clean cut, very sexy, and then a blazer with, like, shoulder pads.
02:10I'm thinking sleek, long hair and a bold red lip. What color suit? Not white. Maybe, like, pearl.
02:16Overall, she described the look she's going for on her wedding day like this.
02:20I want to be, like, a boss-ass bitch. That's the only thing that comes to mind. Seriously, that's how I want to walk down the aisle.
02:26And I just found my king. That's what I want. I'm not a princess. I don't want to be a princess.
02:32I just want to be fierce, bold, strong, and I want to walk to the man who's not intimidated by that.
02:37And speaking of being an empowered woman, when asked about developing her voice in the entertainment industry
02:42and how she feels about individuals using theirs to speak out with allegations of misconduct in Hollywood,
02:48Rachel said,
02:56Alright, Bachelor Nation. Are you excited to see Rachel and Brian walk down the aisle, possibly in 2018?
03:07And how ready are you for the new season of The Bachelor with Ari to premiere on Monday, January 1st?
03:12It's almost here. So be sure to leave all your thoughts in the comments.
03:15For The Hollywood Reporter News, I'm Tiffany Taylor.
