00:00But I think no surprise, we have to look back just a little bit towards Friday where the Eagles and the Bears had a game that played out like a lot of these Philly losses tend to do.
00:10Questions around the offense, and a lot of these questions are now being pointed at offensive coordinator Kevin Petullo.
00:19I know Nick Sirianni in the press conference said there's nothing to see there.
00:23I'm wondering what you're hearing around Philadelphia.
00:24Yeah, so just to give you an idea of how things go in buildings, particularly in Philly.
00:31So owner Jeffrey Lurie wants a world-class offense, right?
00:35And it's clearly not a world-class offense.
00:37That's why after the 23 to really meltdown on both sides of the football.
00:42First it was defense in season.
00:43Sean Desai was replaced.
00:44He was the defense coordinator.
00:46He was reassigned.
00:48Then Brian Johnson, the offensive coordinator, based on the way it collapsed, okay?
00:52Lurie wants a big-time offense.
00:54Brian Johnson was let go.
00:57So they brought in Kellen Moore.
00:58Though you know as an Eagles fan, the passing game wasn't great last season,
01:00but they won because they had a number one defense and one of the best running games in NFL history.
01:07That's why they won.
01:09This season, the running game has been terrible.
01:12The passing game has been disappointing.
01:13And now the defense got gashed for nearly 300 yards on the ground, and they lost,
01:18although they had their chances to win.
01:19But in terms of what's going on with Petulo, Serie A is going to take time to go for the weekend, right?
01:26Yes, he said that Petulo will call the plays going further.
01:29But he can't keep going out there if this continues to say the same old thing.
01:34Now, if you look at their staff, who has called plays before?
01:36Jason Michael, the tight ends coach, did call him once in his career with the tight ends.
01:41It wasn't great.
01:42This is many, many years ago.
01:44Scott Leffer, the quarterback's coach, called him at Ballin' Green.
01:46He was the head coach for how Howard Fannin Jr. went, who's now with the Browns.
01:50But they're not great choices.
01:52I'm told this offense around the league, when people look at it, it's not a very good scheme.
01:56I know they won a Super Bowl with it, but, again, I just gave you the answers.
01:58It's not about the passing game.
02:00Running game is usually great.
02:02They can't rely on it.
02:03So this team right now is what I would call, Kevin, mini free fall.
02:07They're struggling.
02:07They have no answers.
02:09I would still watch what happens with this situation with Petulo over the next couple weeks,
02:13just based on performance.
02:15And they will face, next Monday night, a very difficult scheme, and Jesse Minter's scheme.
02:21You might remember him as the Michigan defensive coordinator.
02:24He's done a phenomenal job with not a lot of talent with the Chargers.
02:27Cap, I'm just curious, in your way it reads on the outside, is Sirianni is being fiercely loyal to Kevin Petulo,
02:38who is his guy.
02:40And I think there is more than enough evidence to take play-calling duties away from Petulo.
02:45If it's a Sirianni decision, it looks like we know how this is going to go.
02:49Is it on the board, you referenced Jeffrey Lurie, that Howie Roseman steps in and does something here,
02:55because Sirianni will not.
02:58So I'll give you the Clifton's version of I know where you're going here.
03:02So after the 2020 season, which was a debacle, Doug Peterson, before he was told he was not going to be coming back as head coach
03:10because there was a disagreement with Lurie and Peterson over staffing.
03:14But Peterson did say that Mike Rowe, who's now the receivers coach with the Giants,
03:18would remain as the offensive coordinator.
03:20The next day, Mike Rowe was not the offensive coordinator.
03:23So on your point, Kevin, Jeffrey Lurie gets involved with high-level decisions,
03:29and he gives his opinion.
03:32This has happened for years.
03:33He wants a world-class offense.
03:34I just would watch.
03:35That's why I said, Kevin, to watch the situation over the next several days here.
03:40Because remember, they've got the week and all fit.
03:41The practice week doesn't technically start until Thursday.
03:44Remember, they practice Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and fly to L.A.
