'The Batman' has found its Penguin.
Transcript
00:00With Jonah Hill out of the race, it looks like Batman may have found its penguin.
00:04The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Colin Farrell is in talks to play the DC
00:07villain for Warner Bros.' upcoming The Batman. The film from director Matt Reeves is
00:12set to star Robert Pattinson who's suiting up as the Dark Knight with other actors
00:16including Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as
00:20Batman ally Commissioner Gordon, among others. Now this won't be the first time the
00:24Penguin's been shown off on screen. Danny DeVito previously played the infamous
00:28villain in Tim Burton's 1992 film, Batman Returns, while Burgess Meredith portrayed him
00:33in the 1960s Batman TV series and Robin Lord Taylor played a younger version of the
00:38character on Fox's Gotham. The Penguin, also known as Oswald Cobblepot, is known as a
00:43master manipulator in Gotham City and typically uses his umbrella as a weapon. The
00:47character is also known for his penguin-like body and walk. Yep, definitely need to see
00:52Colin Farrell pull off that waddle. Jonah Hill was first reported to be in talks for the
00:56film and was considered to play one of two villains, the Riddler or the Penguin, but
01:00according to sources he and Warner Bros. could not come to terms on a deal.
01:04The Batman is set to open June 25, 2021.
