We're getting a new look at Colin Farrell in 'The Penguin.' The spinoff of Reeves' 2022 hit 'The Batman' stars Colin Farrell as the infamous Gotham City gangster with footage showing the series picking up right after the events at the end of The Batman. In the series, The Penguin is stepping up to lead crime in Gotham City. The footage suggests the show could play like a DC take on 'The Sopranos.'

00:03We're getting a new look at Colin Farrell as the Penguin.

00:06The spinoff of Matt Reeves' 2022 hit The Batman stars Colin Farrell as the infamous Gotham City gangster,

00:12with footage showing the series picking up right after the events at the end of The Batman.

00:16In the series, the Penguin is stepping up to lead crime in Gotham City.

00:20The footage suggests that the show could play like a DC take on The Sopranos.

00:30The Penguin is from DC Studios, the Warner Bros. division run by James Gunn and Peter Saffron.

00:34However, The Batman and The Penguin are considered separate from their planned universe of movies and TV shows.

00:40Instead, they'll take on their own universe under the Elseworlds banner,

00:44a nod to alternate universe stories in the DC Comics.

00:47Back in March, the studio announced that The Batman Part 2 has been delayed one year

00:51and will now be released in October of 2026.

00:54The Penguin drops on Max this September.
