00:00Legendary musician Neil Young is suing President Donald Trump's campaign, and the Veep team
00:04weighs in on those Trump-Axios interview comparisons.
00:07Here are today's top stories.
00:08First, musician Neil Young has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Trump's campaign
00:13for playing his songs at campaign rallies.
00:15Young alleges that Trump's campaign lacks license to publicly perform the compositions
00:19entitled Rockin' in the Free World and Devil's Sidewalk.
00:22The musician notes that Trump has used his music for years dating back to the last campaign
00:26and played both songs at his rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 20.
00:30The complaint filed in New York federal court states this complaint is not intended to disrespect
00:34the rights and opinions of American citizens who are free to support the candidate of their
00:38choosing.
00:39However, plaintiff in good conscience cannot allow his music to be used as a theme song for
00:43a divisive, un-American campaign of ignorance and hate.
00:46Meanwhile, President Donald Trump is being criticized for his recent interview with Axios, which
00:51aired Monday night on HBO, with many comparing the sit-down to comedies such as HBO's Veep.
00:56There are those that say, you can test too much.
00:59You do know that.
01:00Who says that?
01:01Oh.
01:02Just read the manuals, read the books.
01:03Manuals?
01:04Read the books.
01:05What manuals?
01:06Read the books.
01:07What books?
01:08Among the talked-about moments, Trump said this of the more than 150,000 U.S. novel coronavirus
01:12death toll.
01:13They are dying.
01:14That's true.
01:15And it is what it is.
01:17But that doesn't mean we aren't doing everything we can.
01:20It's under control as much as you can control it.
01:23In another instance, Trump told interviewer Jonathan Swan that the journalist could only
01:26talk about pandemic stats and comparisons that made the president look good, rather than
01:31the actual facts and figures that Swan presented.
01:33Oh, you're doing death as a proportion of cases.
01:35I'm talking about death as a proportion of population.
01:37That's where the U.S. is really bad.
01:39Well

01:40South Korea, Germany, etc.
01:41You can't

01:42You can't do that.
01:43The interview left some viewers comparing the sit-down to comedies such as HBO's Veep,
01:47and that comparison was not lost on Veep actor Sam Richardson.
01:50He tweeted,
01:51Yes, this is like a scene from Veep, except on Veep this scene would have been rewritten
01:54after the table read because a president being this stupid is too gaggy and unrealistic.
01:59Veep showrunner David Mandel also weighed in, joking that another one of the show's fictional
02:02characters would have had a different response to the pandemic.
