00:00President Trump sat down with CBS News' Nora O'Donnell for a highly anticipated interview
00:05on 60 Minutes, which marked his first with CBS News since suing the network's parent company.
00:12These are the top three tense moments.
00:15Number three, talking over each other.
00:17At the beginning of the aired portion of the sit-down, O'Donnell asked Trump about his
00:21handling of the government shutdown, which led to this taught back and forth in which
00:25the two wouldn't let the other speak.
00:27You have helped end these government shutdowns in the past when they came about.
00:31And you did it by bringing members of Congress to the White House.
00:35I'm not going to do it by extortion.
00:37I'm not going to do it by being extorted by the Democrats who have lost their way.
00:41There's something wrong with these people.
00:43So then what happens on November 15th when the troops don't get a paycheck?
00:46Schumer is a basket case and he has nothing to lose.
00:50Number two, awkward moment.
00:52In another tense moment, which the network put up in an extended YouTube cut of the interview,
00:57Trump took over the role of questioner when it came to the topic of crime in D.C.
01:02Pushing O'Donnell to admit the city had become safer as a result of his policy.
01:06Do you see a difference?
01:08In Washington, D.C.?
01:09Yes.
01:09I think I've been working too hard.
01:11I haven't been out and about that much.
01:12Oh, that's not a fair answer.
01:13You see a difference.
01:13I get in my car and go to work and I go home.
01:16You don't have to use that one.
01:17Don't worry.
01:18Don't worry.
01:18I don't want to embarrass you.
01:19I've been hurt.
01:19Number one, viral clip.
01:22And in a contentious back and forth that went viral, O'Donnell pushed Trump about his
01:26controversial pardoning of Changpeng Zhao, to which he denied knowing anything about the
01:32Binance founder.
01:33Why did you pardon him?
01:35Okay, are you ready?
01:35I don't know who he is.
01:37I know he got a four-month sentence or something like that, and I heard it was a Biden witch
01:42hunt.
01:42How do you address the appearance of pay for play?
01:45Well, here's the thing.
01:46I know nothing about it because I'm too busy doing the other.
01:49But he got a pardon?
01:50I know nothing about the guy other than I hear he was a victim of weaponization by government.
01:56When you say the government, you're talking about the Biden government.
01:59The interview came a little over a year after the show's infamous interview with presidential
02:04hopeful Kamala Harris, which led to Trump suing over their edit, and Paramount Global
02:09and CBS settling with the president for over $16 million.
02:13Trump addressed the payout during his 60 Minutes interview on Sunday, in which he praised
02:18the network for bringing on Barry Weiss as their new editor-in-chief.
02:22Actually, 60 Minutes paid me a lot of money, and you don't have to put this on because
02:26I don't want to embarrass you, and I'm sure you're not, he said, before he continued.
02:32I think you have a great new leader, frankly, because the young woman that's leading your
02:35whole enterprise is great from what I know, he continued.
02:40You can't have fake news.
02:42You've got to have legit news, and I think that's what's happening, he said.
02:4660 Minutes approached the Trump interview drastically different from the Harris interview,
02:51airing about a third of it during the broadcast and posting the majority of the rest of it on
02:55YouTube for transparency.
02:57There was a small amount of the interview that only was released via transcript, though,
03:01and one section in particular seemingly could have been the most contentious and tense part
03:05of the entire interview.
03:07According to the transcript, the moment came at the very end of the interview, when O'Donnell
03:11asked if there was a time for two more questions, and continued to push Trump on his pardoning
03:16of the Binance founder.
03:18Here's what the part of the transcript read.
03:20But, Nora O'Donnell, so not concerned about the appearance of corruption with this?
03:25President Donald Trump, I can't say because, I can't say, I'm not concerned, I don't,
03:31I'd rather not have you ask the question.
03:34But I let you ask it.
03:36You just came to me and said, can I ask another question?
03:38And I said, yeah, this is the question.
03:41Nora O'Donnell, and you answered.
03:43President Donald Trump, I don't mind.
03:45Did I let you do it?
03:46I could have walked away.
03:48I didn't have to answer this question.
03:50I'm proud to answer the question.
03:51You know why?
03:52I've taken crypto.
03:54Nora O'Donnell.
03:55But just generally speak.
03:57President Donald Trump.
03:59Excuse me, we're number one in crypto in the whole world.
04:02Other people want to be.
04:04They're fighting like hell to be.
04:06But we're number one in crypto because I'm the president.
04:09Biden wanted to also at the very end, you know.
04:11He totally switched his thing.
04:13You know, Biden was totally in favor of crypto at the end.
04:17Do you know that many people were indicted under Biden for crypto at the very end before the election were let go?
04:23You know why?
04:24He wanted the vote.
04:26We are number one in crypto.
04:27And that's the only thing I care about.
04:29I don't want China or anybody else to take it away.
04:32It's a massive industry.
