NBC's 'Saturday Night Live' returned for another "At Home" version of the late-night comedy sketch show.
Transcript
00:00Relatively soon is an interesting phrase. Relative to the entire history of Earth, sure, the vaccine's going to come real fast.
00:09Saturday Night Live returned this past weekend for another iteration of SNL at Home, a virtual version of the show made for the social distancing era.
00:17The latest episode, much like the first, featured cast members collaborating once again from home amid the coronavirus pandemic,
00:23with multiple appearances from former cast members and celebrity cameos.
00:27This week's cold open kicked off on a high note featuring a surprise cameo from none other than Brad Pitt,
00:32playing Dr. Anthony Fauci, attempting to clarify several of President Donald Trump's recent COVID-19 comments.
00:46One of his clarifications included Trump's views on testing.
00:49When he said everyone can get a test, what he meant was almost no one.
00:56He then went to a clip of the president saying his administration had done an incredible job and COVID-19 will, quote, disappear one day like a miracle.
01:03Who doesn't love miracles? But miracles shouldn't be plan A.
01:07The actor's casting for the sketch was particularly a score since it was pretty much Dr. Fauci's dream.
01:12One recently asked by CNN who he would like to play him on SNL, Fauci had the perfect guy in mind.
01:17Oh, Brad Pitt, of course.
01:20Finishing up his appearance, Pitt pulled off his wig and dropped the Fauci accent for a serious and meaningful message.
01:26And to the real Dr. Fauci, thank you for your calm and your clarity in this unnerving time.
01:33Elsewhere during SNL at Home, several sketches touched on new normals viewers may be experiencing while sheltering in place.
01:38Saturday's episode included a new iteration of the long-running sketch, What's Up With That?, hosted by Kenan Thompson's DeAndre Cole, featuring former cast members Fred Armisen and Jason Sudeikis, and cameos from Charles Barkley and DJ Khaled playing themselves.
01:51Ooh-wee, what's up with that? What's up with that?
01:58Pete Davidson contributed a new music video sketch singing about the loneliness and boredom of quarantine, which former cast member Adam Sandler even recorded a verse for.
02:07I was healthy, so don't even ask.
02:09Staying in the house in an underwear mask.
02:12Only bit my dog with a baseball mitt.
02:14Other hilarious sketches involved Kenan Thompson as former pro baseball player David Big Papi Ortiz, hosting an at-home cooking tutorial with singer Bad Bunny as a guest.
02:24You're gonna need a big-ass pot. That's why you need to call my Puerto Rican cousin Big Bunny.
02:30Hola!
02:31Paul Rudd making a guest appearance, touching on a common social distancing activity by FaceTiming his cousin.
02:37Imagine it, something before.
02:40Oh, that wasn't a movie. That was just a thing.
02:43So you weren't famous enough to be in it?
02:46And a follow-up to the reoccurring SoulCycle sketches featuring Bowen Yang as an all-too-motivational trainer during quarantine.
02:52I always try to keep a positive attitude. I moved to New York two days before quarantine.
02:59Elsewhere, there was once again an at-home version of Weekend Update covering topics like President Donald Trump's latest comments on COVID-19.
03:05President Trump asked if they could bring the light inside the body.
03:10Though I'm pretty sure bring the light inside the body is what they chanted at Jonestown before drinking poison.
03:16And on the music front, Miley Cyrus was a surprise guest, singing a timely rendition of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here in what appeared to be a backyard with moody red lighting.
