Claire Foy hosted the Dec. 1 installment of NBC's 'Saturday Night Live,' in which the 'Crown' star featured in several sketches that skewered TV networks, including Netflix.
Transcript
00:00"'God, I haven't been this upset since I flipped out over that parking space.'"
00:06Alec Baldwin returned to SNL as President Donald Trump over the weekend for the first
00:10time since being arrested for allegedly striking a man in the face over a parking spot.
00:14Baldwin as Trump appeared at the park hired in Argentina, where the real Trump is currently
00:19attending the G20 summit, with Cecily Strong reprising her impersonation of Melania.
00:23The first lady's garish choice of Christmas decorations even got a mention during the cold open.
00:28"'I keep having this nightmare where I'm walking through a forest of blood.'"
00:31"'No, no, that was just my Christmas decoration.'"
00:35Kate McKinnon also appeared as Rudy Giuliani, while Ben Stiller made a cameo as Michael Cohen,
00:39and Beck Bennett played a shirtless Vladimir Putin, who was joined by Fred Armisen as the
00:43Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The sketch finished with Baldwin starting to sing
00:48a Trump-themed rendition of Don't Cry For Me Argentina from Evita.
00:51"'Don't cry for me Argentina. The truth is I'm very guilty.'"
00:59As the show officially opened, host Claire Foy took to the stage to deliver her monologue and
01:03assure viewers that, as a foreigner, she's not stealing U.S. jobs, but rather doing the gigs
01:08that Americans don't want to do.
01:10"'For example, in the film I did First Man, I had to play Ryan Gosling's wife.'"
01:14The first sketch of the night was a commercial parody making fun of the endless amount of
01:19content on Netflix. A voiceover announced that the streaming platform was spending billions
01:24of dollars in making every show in the world before taking viewers inside a pitch meeting.
01:28"'So, this show is about a girl named Ginny.'"
01:31"'Yes, here's money. Go. Make it. Make it.'"
01:34And Foy appeared in a faux high school-set teen drama spin-off of The Crown.
01:38"'We love Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth so much, we're sending her back to high school.'"
01:44"'I'm in over my crown.'"
01:46"'It's saved by the crown.'"
01:49Of course, the evening could not overlook the passing of former President George H.W. Bush,
01:53with Colin Jost paying tribute to the one-time Commander-in-Chief during Weekend Update.
01:57"'President Bush was always a warm and gracious man who understood the power at laughing at yourself,'
02:02Joe said.
02:03SNL then shared clips of former cast member Dana Carvey doing his recurring Bush impression on the show,
02:08and Bush's reaction to the impersonation.
02:10"'Don't see it. It's totally exaggerated. Not me. Those crazy hand gestures. The pointing thing. I don't do them.'"
02:19In 1992, Carvey was invited to the White House, with Bush praising the comedian saying,
02:23"'Dana has given me a lot of laughs, and the fact that we can laugh at each other is a very fundamental thing.'"
