The final five contestants on 'American Idol' became the final three after a night of live performances on Sunday.

00:04The final five became the final three on Sunday night's American Idol.
00:07The season's penultimate episode saw Alejandro Aranda, Wade Cota, Lane Hardy,
00:12Madison Vandenberg and Lacey K. Booth all sing multiple songs to fight for a spot in next week's finale.
00:18But only three of them were voted through. And those lucky contestants were,
00:22drumroll please, 18-year-old Louisiana country singer Lane Hardy, who first appeared on the show
00:28last season, but was cut before the live shows. Talk about a comeback.
00:35Also making the top three is the sweet 17-year-old high school student with a powerful voice
00:39who's drawn comparisons to Kelly Clarkson, Madison Vandenberg.
00:54And the 24-year-old singer-songwriter who's found serious success
00:57performing his original songs on the show, Alejandro Aranda.
01:09Next week's finale will include superstar guests Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert,
01:13Dan and Shay, John Party, Kane Brown and more.
01:16Meanwhile, ABC has renewed the singing competition series for another season, marking its third on the network
01:26and 18th overall. However, the makeup of the judges panel is still to be determined.
01:31Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that ABC has made offers to current judges Katy Perry,
