00:17The Netflix sequel feature is set to co-star Margaret Qualley and Bad Bunny,

00:21with Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald returning from the first film.

00:25Additionally, Travis Kelsey will make a cameo.

00:27The original Happy Gilmore, about an unlikely golfer who becomes known for his long drives,

00:32hit theaters in February of 1996 from Universal Pictures.

00:36Happy Gilmore 2 began production in New Jersey on September 9th,

00:39which was Sandler's 58th birthday.

00:41Back in 2015, original director Dennis Dugan told The Hollywood Reporter

00:45that a Happy Gilmore sequel seemed unlikely to happen at that time.

00:49Dugan said back then of Sandler reprising his role,

00:52I can't imagine he'd ever do that, but it's Hollywood, so you never say that'll never happen.
