00:00John Stewart and Pete Davidson are teaming up to host a comedy event in remembrance of the 20th anniversary of 9-11.
00:07The two stars, both native New Yorkers with personal ties to 9-11, have lined up a who's who of comics for the event,
00:13including Dave Chappelle, Amy Schumer, John Mulaney, Bill Burr, Colin Jost, Michael Che, Jay Farrow, Jimmy Fallon, and Wanda Sykes, among others.
00:23Davidson and Stewart will also take the mic.
00:25The event will go on for a fully vaccinated crowd at New York's Madison Square Garden on Sunday, September 12th.
00:31All proceeds will benefit 9-11 charities.
00:34The pair said in a joint statement,
00:36The star-studded event, which is being produced by Live Nation, was the brainchild of Stewart,
00:47who will soon return to TV with an Apple series and Saturday Night Live's Davidson.
00:51Davidson famously lost his father, a New York City firefighter, in the attacks of 9-11.
00:56While Stewart has become one of the fiercest advocates for 9-11 victims, emergency personnel, and others who responded to the scene,
01:03pushing Congress to provide more funds to cover their health care, among other things.
