00:00The Daily Show will broadcast live from the two major political conventions this summer with
00:04Jon Stewart hosting. The Hollywood Reporter can exclusively reveal that Comedy Central's
00:10late-night show will go live on the final night of each convention. That's July 18th for the
00:15Republicans in Milwaukee and August 22nd for the Democrats in Chicago. The Daily Show has enjoyed
00:21a sizable upswing in ratings since Stewart's return in February. Since he's hosting the live
00:25episodes, he'll move from his usual Monday night spot in the anchor's chair to the end of the week
00:29for the special broadcasts. The show's news team will host the Monday through Wednesday shows on
00:34location during the convention weeks. They'll be taped a few hours ahead of airing. Ticket requests
00:39to attend the shows in both Milwaukee and Chicago are open on OneIota.com. The 2024 conventions will
00:45resume a Daily Show tradition of traveling for the National Party conventions in presidential
00:49election years. The show didn't travel in 2020 when it was in remote production during the early
00:54months of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the conventions themselves were scaled back considerably.
00:59Prior to that, the Daily Show went on the road to at least one of the convention cities every four
01:03years dating back to 2000. For much more on this story and all the latest news, head to THR.com.
