00:00Here are today's top Hollywood stories. As the 2020 presidential election remains undecided as
00:05of Wednesday afternoon, Hollywood clings to hope, with stars tweeting hashtag count every vote and
00:10urging patience for the full vote count. According to the Associated Press, neither President Donald
00:14Trump nor Joe Biden has secured the 270 electoral college votes needed for a victory, with a tightly
00:20contested face-off coming down to key battleground states where absentee mail-in ballots are still
00:25being counted. The coronavirus pandemic led to a historic number of absentee mail-in ballots.
00:31Emerging data on the key remaining states has revealed what political experts had believed
00:35ahead of the election, that Democrats would vote disproportionately by mail, while Republicans
00:39would vote disproportionately in person. On Wednesday morning, Lady Gaga tweeted,
00:43Every single vote in this country matters, will be counted and will matter. It is the emblem of
00:49our democracy. I have so much faith in the human spirit. We've got this America, sending everyone
00:54a big hug. The hashtag count every vote became a rally cry overnight with Katy Perry, Uzo Aduba,
01:00James Corden, Kerry Washington, Chelsea Handler, George Takei, and Josh Gad among those using the
01:06hashtag with Gad writing, Trump is scared. He knows he is going to lose. If he even dares try to steal this
01:12election before every vote is counted, we take to the streets in numbers never witnessed before.
01:18Meanwhile, Hollywood stars like Amy Schumer are reacting to Delaware's Sarah McBride making history on
01:23Tuesday as the first transgender state senator elected in the United States. THR's Neha Joy has
01:28more. McBride, who segues to the seat after serving as a spokesperson for the human rights campaign,
01:34tweeted a message of gratitude after the news broke, posting,
01:37We did it. We won the general election. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I hope tonight shows
01:42an LGBTQ kid that our democracy is big enough for them too.
01:47Amy Schumer took to Instagram to celebrate the victory by posting,
01:50Congrats to my friend Sarah McBride and congrats to Delawareans for electing a great leader.
01:55Oscar winner Charlize Theron responded by tweeting,
01:58We are all a mess of anxiety right now, but at least we can celebrate this incredible news.
02:03Meanwhile, Trevor Noah's The Daily Show hosted a live election night special. Neha has some of
02:07the highlights. Noah hosted the broadcast titled Votegasm 2020 What Could Go Wrong Again from what
02:13he called his special election fallout shelter, stocked with items such as hand sanitizer, board games,
02:19toilet paper, a boom box, and surrounded by boarded up windows.
02:23We are live. And you know how you know we're live? Because I've already thrown up on myself
02:27and I've had time to clean it up. Later in the show, Don Cheadle joined Noah for a discussion
02:32and the actor said he describes himself as a single issue Dem voter.
02:36What is that single issue for Don Cheadle?
02:39Whoever can beat this orange dude.
