Jon Stewart has a lot to say about the state of the country, Disney remains mum on Splash Mountain outcry and Jimmy Kimmel is set to host the Emmys 2020.

00:00Hear today's top stories. First, Jon Stewart has a lot to say about the state of the country.
00:04The former Daily Show host opened up in a lengthy Q&A for New York Times Magazine.
00:09THR's Neha Joy has more.
00:11When asked for his thoughts on current-day America, specifically the widespread anti-racism
00:14protests taking place across the country, Stewart said the wrong problem was being
00:18addressed when it came to police brutality. He continued in part, saying,
00:22The police are a reflection of a society. They're enforcing segregation.
00:26Segregation is legally over, but it never ended.
00:29Stewart goes on to note that,
00:30Next, some are calling on Disney to rebrand Splash Mountain as it's based off arguably the company's
00:46most controversial film, 1946's overtly out-of-touch and racist Song of the South.
00:52But Disney has remained mum on the outcry so far. A number of petitions are floating around online,
00:56at least one with some 21,000 signatures, calling for the ride to be rebranded for Princess and the
01:02Frog. The celebrated 2009 animated film featured a black female protagonist. Disney is no doubt aware
01:08of the Splash Mountain pushback with media reports. Multiple requests for comment from The Hollywood
01:12Reporter were not returned. Jimmy Kimmel is set to host the 2020 Primetime Emmys for ABC,
01:18but exactly what the show will look like due to the coronavirus pandemic is still unclear.
01:22Kimmel, who will also serve as executive producer on the event, said,
01:25I don't know where we will do this or how we will do this or even why we are doing this,
