00:00with the big game, the late-night special in Palo Alto.
00:04It's a 10-30 kick.
00:05Notre Dame needs to win to make it to the college football playoff.
00:09They put up a 70 spot last week at home
00:12against the Syracuse Orange, won by C3.
00:17Third and a half, Coach, they're on the road against the Cardinal,
00:21laying 32-and-a-half.
00:22They've won five of the last six in the series,
00:25including last year, 49-7.
00:28I think there's no doubt that Notre Dame wins,
00:32but Stanford's been a little spunky covering these big lines at home.
00:36They did it against Boston College.
00:38They did it against Florida State, winning both of those games outright,
00:41and they knocked off their arch-rival, Cal.
00:45I'll take the 32-and-a-half
00:46and hope that the Cardinal keep it within the number.
00:49Well, I'll be on the other side on this one.
00:51I'm going to tell you, Notre Dame scored seven.
00:53They scored seven.
00:54I mean, I wasn't on Notre Dame's side last week
00:57because I thought the line was so high,
00:59and they put 70 on Syracuse,
01:02and they can do it again, and they will do it again.
01:04The problem with Stanford is they can't score.
01:07123rd in the country in scoring the average 18 points a game.
01:12Love will get 150.
01:13Jeremiah Love will get at least 150 yards.
01:15I think Notre Dame sees what's out there for them.
01:19They understand what pretty points or beauty points mean,
01:22and they're going to score as much as they can.
01:25It bugs me when I start thinking,
01:28can you guarantee they're going to win by 30-plus points?
01:30But in this circumstance, in this situation,
01:34Stanford cannot score.
01:36Notre Dame can.
01:37They can almost pick their score.
01:40Absolutely.
01:41And, again, C.J. Carr has stepped up.
01:43He's made some plays.
01:44The rushing attack has been a huge benefit,
01:47which Darian Price and Jeremiah Love,
01:49both of those players could also catch the football out of the backfield.
01:53And on top of that, we've seen the defense as well, Coach,
01:55bounce back into last year's type of form.
01:58They're playing at a playoff caliber,
02:01playing very good opportunistic football,
02:03forcing turnovers, winning the turnover battle,
02:06and getting off the field on third down.
02:08That type of recipe against an anemic offense
02:11definitely will carry through in this ballgame.
02:15Do you give any benefit to Frank Reich,
02:17an NFL coach going in this matchup
02:20with all the chips in the middle of the table?
02:23Do you think he looks to slow down the tempo
02:25against the top-ranked Irish?
02:27I think he's smart enough to know that
02:30if he's got the football in his hands,
02:32that Notre Dame cannot score.
02:34I don't know that he feels like they can win the football game,
02:37but I know they can't win it unless they can keep the score lower.
02:41They can keep Notre Dame from having the ball on offense
02:43because they can't stop Notre Dame.
02:46And they can't get him to a scoring match.
02:48So I think because of his experience, his experience in the NFL,
02:52I think he knows what they've got to do.
02:54The question with Stanford is can they do it?
02:56Notre Dame's such a better football team right now.
02:59And Notre Dame knows that they're in the hunt,
03:01and Miami are the bad guys.
03:03And Miami beat them.
03:04So every week they've got to play better
03:07and look better than Miami does.
03:09And Miami's had three pretty good wins the last three games too,
03:12and Miami beat them.
03:14So look for Notre Dame to know going in,
03:17they want to score as often as they can and as much as they can.
