00:05Chris Pine is finally addressing Spitgate and revealing what really happened between him and Harry Styles in the viral video at the Venice Film Festival.
00:14During the festival, while Pine and the cast of Don't Worry Darling were promoting their film, a clip of Styles seemingly spitting on the actor went viral.
00:23Harry did not spit on me. Harry's a very, very kind guy.
00:27His comments in the Esquire video echo those of director Olivia Wilde, who previously insisted that Styles did not spit on Pine.
00:35In the Esquire video, Pine guessed that Styles was saying something to him in the much-discussed moment. Perhaps it's just words, isn't it?
00:43Because we had this little joke, because we're all jet-lagged, we're all trying to answer these questions, and sometimes when you're doing these press things, your brain goes befuddled and, you know, you start speaking gibberish and we had a joke.

00:54Pine said he heard rumors of what was being dubbed Spitgate on his flight back from Venice.
00:59He was sleeping, he recalled, when his publicist woke him up.
01:02And she wakes me up in a, you know, in a state, and she said, we have to craft a message about what happened in Venice.
01:10And I was like, about what? About Harry spitting on you.
01:14He was unaware of what his rep was referring to, so she showed him the video.
01:18And it does look, indeed, like Harry's spitting on me. He didn't spit on me.
