Transcript
00:00Thank you, all of you. Thank you for what you do. Thank you, THR, for having me here.
00:05Thank you, Gretchen, for the introduction.
00:07Obviously, as I stand before the Women in Entertainment Gala,
00:12I'm aware that I don't belong here for a pretty obvious reason.
00:17I'm not in entertainment.
00:23In all seriousness, any award I've gotten, it's because of incredibly brave sources.
00:30A lot of whom are women.
00:31There are too many to name, but here are just a few.
00:35Allie Canosa, Ambra Gutierrez, Annabella Sciorra, Brooke Nevels, Christine Peters,
00:43Daryl Hannah, Deborah Green, Deborah Morris, Deborah Williams, Deborah Kittay,
00:48Dinah Kirgo, Emma DeCon, Emily Nestor, Habiba Noshin, Ileana Douglas, Jane Wallace,
00:56Janet Jones, Jennifer Laird, Jessica Barth, Jessica Pallingston, Karen McDougal,
01:03Katrina Wolfe, Linda Silverthorne, Lucia Evans, Maxine Page, Michelle Barish,
01:10Mira Sorvino, Mo Cashin, Phyllis Golden-Gottlieb, Rosanna Arquette,
01:16Rose McGowan, Rowena Chu, Signe Swenson, Sophie Dix, Sarah Johanson, Sophie Gator,
01:25Tanya Selvaratnam, Zelda Perkins.
01:28I also got to say, I am the person I am today because of two brave women in my life,
01:33my mother Mia and my sister Dylan.
01:35They face that same powerful system that protects dangerous men.
01:46And in so many ways, my mom was so alone in that fight.
01:49How good to know that now, however much more there is to do, however much more change needs to happen,
01:55there are fewer women who have to face these fights alone.
01:59Thank you for this award.
02:01I will leave it there.
02:02As a man on this stage, I am very aware of the importance of shutting up and listening.
