00:15The series, produced by Imagine Television and being written by Reggie Rock Bythewood,
00:19is inspired by Durant's youth basketball experience and explores the world of amateur athletic
00:24union basketball in the nation's capital, as well as its players, their families and coaches,
00:28who walk the line between dreams and ambition, as well as opportunism and corruption.
00:33Durant played for the AAU in Maryland, where he was teammates with several future NBA stars.
00:38Bythewood, who contributed footage for the 2000 feature Love & Basketball, written and directed
00:43by his wife, Gina Prince Bythewood, will write the script and executive produce.
00:47Swagger marks the latest scripted series to be put in development at Apple.
00:51But Durant isn't the only NBA star leveraging his appeal in Hollywood.
00:55James and his Spring Hill Entertainment partner, Maverick Carter, are producing a new
00:58House Party, which will revive the kid-and-play fronted New Line comedy franchise that started
01:03in 1990, and was followed by sequels in 1991 and 1994.
01:08Atlanta's Stephen Glover and Jamal Elori are writing the script.
01:11James told The Hollywood Reporter,
01:13This is definitely not a reboot. It's an entirely new look for a classic movie.
01:17Everyone I grew up with loved House Party. To partner with this creative team to bring a new
01:22House Party to a new generation is unbelievable.
01:24Fans can expect a star-studded soundtrack from the movie. Perhaps even James' good pal Drake,
01:30with whom Spring Hill is collaborating on Netflix's crime drama Top Boy, and Vince Carter
01:35doc The Carter Effect.
01:36Maverick Carter said,
01:37We're trying out some ideas for musicians to be cast in and to be a part of the project.
01:41He also added that a cameo by James, in high demand since his well-received performance in
01:46Trainwreck, also remains a possibility, saying,
01:48There's no plan for it now, but he's a fantastic actor. And if he wants a role,
01:52Stephen will find a great role to put him in.
