00:00Bluey is heading to the big screen. A feature film about the animated Blue Heeler Dog is in the works.
00:06According to the Walt Disney Company and BBC Studios, the film will continue the adventures
00:10of Bluey, who lives with her mom, dad, and her little sister Bingo. It will be written and
00:14directed by Bluey creator Joe Brum. The CG animated film will hit theaters in 2027 under
00:20the Disney banner and will stream on Disney Plus after its debut. Bluey has become a bonafide hit
00:25for Disney Plus, routinely ranking as one of the most streamed shows on the service. A longer
00:30form special called The Sign garnered more than 10 million viewers worldwide. Brum said,
00:35I really enjoyed the experience of working with a longer format on The Sign in Series 3,
00:40so going even further with the feature film feels like a natural extension of that.
00:44I've always thought Bluey deserved a theatrical movie. I want this to be an experiential event
00:48for the whole family to enjoy together. Created by Brum and his native Australia,
00:52the series quickly gained traction across the globe with kids and families, who were charmed
00:56by the show's celebration of imagination and creativity, as well as its strong emotional
01:01core. For more on this story and all the latest movie news, head to THR.com. This is the Hollywood
