00:00Here in Queensland this week it has been storming one day and scorching the next.
00:08A second day of heatwave conditions here in the southeast corner are making for an incredibly muggy and warm day today.
00:17A top of 36 in Brisbane, 37 just west in Ipswich.
00:23Now we've also been told from the weather bureau it is the humidity that is making this just so uncomfortable.
00:29Especially high humidity as a result of all this moisture in the air from back to back days of thunderstorms.
00:35Now Queenslanders have been told there will be a reprieve from the storms today but there are severe thunderstorm warnings back in place for the weekend.
00:43Now that's not great news for the thousands of Queenslanders still without power as a result of storms that tore through north of Brisbane on Monday and Tuesday night.
00:53Still about 4,000 homes disconnected from the grid so of course a pretty warm day for them without air conditioning and fans.
01:01Now we've been having a chat to some locals down here in Southbank in Brisbane about how they're hoping to beat the heat today in these scorching conditions.
01:09Well we both work in an office so air con is on all day but yeah when we get home obviously it's pretty hot so we'll leave the AC on for her in the bedroom so she can keep cool all day and plenty of water for her as well.
01:23Yeah not much outside time today.
01:25Yeah no.
01:26Not local we're from Perth and we're struggling with the heat so my daughter and I are just hanging out by the pools and the river it's beautiful.
01:35It's it's I think it's like warmer in the water then and then there's like a breeze outside but it's really nice and refreshing in the water.
01:43Warm it's really warm.
01:45It's really hot.
01:46Yeah.
01:47The Bureau of Meteorology says heat conditions are expected to ease next week but still a very hot few days ahead so of course take some time to stay in the shade make sure to hydrate and keep cool today.
