Director Michael Sarnoski explains how he was able to share the unexpected emotional stories of the characters in 'A Quiet Place: Day One.' Plus, he reveals if he could stay silent to survive.
00:00You mentioned that John had said that he wanted you to bring some of your pig touch to this.
00:04So what elements from that film did you bring to this one?
00:07So I tried not to overthink that too much, but I think what I focused on was finding something that I cared about.
00:12And I think the commonality is there's sort of unexpectedly emotional stories about characters that you wouldn't totally expect in a movie like this.
00:21And I think that's probably the commonality between those two.
00:24Do you think you'd be able to survive in this world in real life?
00:28Could you stay silent for X amount of days?
00:30No, absolutely not.
00:31I have a very grumbly stomach when I get nervous, and I'd be very nervous, and yeah, I'd be screwed.
